Yes! I ended up buying two....I should have waited as the second one is my dream dress even though I cried with the first one on. It doesn't make any sense to me at all!
Yes! I ended up with something completely different than what I originally wanted! I thought I wanted straps for sure and ended up with a strapless mermaid gown! It's gorgeous, it just isn't what I thought I wanted.
It’s kind of funny I went to the goodwill thrift store I got the perfect wedding dress for a dollar!!! Yes you read it right.Cathedral length train, lots of beading and pearls. I love it
I wanted white and I got ivory xD it’s not that different, but it’s enough haha. It also has a really nice textured organza fabric instead of being super smooth or tulle-y. I took a terrible picture of it though xD. It came in yesterday!
I tried on THE dress from all my research and pinteresting... And I did not like it at all. I did always want to try on lots of styles but I really only thought the long sleeve lace with a tulle A-line bottom would look good on me. I'm also plus size and was very self conscious and nervous about the whole experience.
I ended up loving this dress with all the things I didn't think I wanted-- champagne underlay, strapless, all lace, and a more fitted look (technically A line but has the feel of fit and flare). I can't wait until it arrives! Also for my fellow plus size brides-- the best thing I did was go to a plus size focused store as my first appointment. All the dresses were larger sample sizes so I could try anything there and get it all clamped to really see how it would fit. I ended up getting my dress from a more typical boutique (Global Bridal Gallery) but I think it did wonders for my nerves and confidence that the first store had so many options for me in all styles & silhouettes-- shout out to Cherry Blossom Bridal in DC.
I had absolutely no idea what I wanted in a wedding dress. When my matron of honor suggested that we just go and look at dresses, so that I could get an idea, I said okay. Well, when we went into the bridal store, I was overwhelmed. I had never seen so many beautiful and elegant dresses before. Yes, this was my very first time ever being in a bridal store. Upon us entering, a bridal consultant greeted us and helped us through the entire process. She asked me what I had envisioned for my wedding dress. I told her that so had absolutely no idea...which was true. We the. Started to go through the selections and I instantly found an amazing and oh so beautiful dress. It was it white, which was great. Because, I am not one for a crisp white or ivory color dress. Yes, I know that is what brides wear...but not me! This dress is more of a cream and blush color. It has elegant detail, crystals, and lace. It is me!! I pointed that dress out to my consultant and matron of honor, and she asked me if I would like to try it on. Well, I was prepared to try anything on that day. But, I decided to go for it. My consultant pulled two more dresses for me to try on, and I reluctantly tried on one of them. It was a mermaid style and in white. As soon as I put that dress on, I knew instantly that I did not like that dress or how I felt in it. Then, it came time to try on the dress that I picked out. Oh my gosh, I knew the minute that I put it on, and I was zipped up, that this was MY dress!! I walked out and stood in the mirror and cried. I looked and felt so beautiful, and like a bride. How would I describe my dress? Beautiful, elegant, and oh so amazing!!
Wow, what a question!!! I started out with a dream of a simple, elegant chiffon dress with little to no lace. As I was shopping, I started looking at crepe dresses with significant back detailing. Guess what dress I bought? a simple, elegant chiffon dress with almost no lace. ha! I found it on closeout for $50 on the facebook market place and I fell in love. However, I am getting it altered to include some of the elements of the back detailing I ran into while I was exploring crepe options.
I knew from day one I wanted a long sleeve dress that was either an A-line or a ball gown. I want Ed lace with a little bit of sparkle. I love my dress and can’t wait to ware it for my wedding in April.
I ended up with a completely different dress than I originally wanted..... I wanted a sheer arm convertible dress that was a line but ended up getting a fit to flare lace dress
I knew exactly what i was looking for. intricate with lace on the top. then a simple plain bottom. most likely mermaid. i had a set budget but i definitely went over that *face palm*. pics below are what i wanted - and what i bought
I was almost positive I wanted a sheath dress or even a two piece sweater and pencil skirt outfit. I went wedding dress shopping with my mom, my aunt, my sister, and my future step daughter - mostly just to see what I liked in a dress. I almost bought a beautiful lace sheath until the attendant revealed it was actually 50% over my budget. I left and went to another very small salon that my aunt suggested (which was closed, but the owner gladly let us shop around). She just pulled everything in my budget and I tried them on and rejected them one by one. Then she pulled a gorgeous satin ballgown I swear to god I knew exactly how Cinderella felt when she got her dress in that moment. I cried. I bought it off the rack, and it fits me like a glove. The only alterations it needs are a bustle and pockets. Its honestly a dream come true.
My experience was breezy since I pretty much knew what I wanted. Long sleeves, see through, unique lace, rich material, open back, mermaid style, cathedral train.. my sleeves snap on so it’ll be nice to take them off for dancing! The first photo is from my initial dress shopping day, the next two photos are from my first and second fittings and the final photo was my inspiration dress. My advice is to just enjoy looking and don’t rush into anything you don’t absolutely LOVE!
