covid Bride

Hello Brides,

So I have never engaged in discussion on here before. However, at this time I’m sure the only people who can relate to how I’m feeling are other brides. To count down the days to the big day and be smacked with this hurdle of COVID 19 has been hell. My wedding is not until Sept 19th. However, it is a destination and I feel stuck regardless of what the outcome will be. To be honest, I will be okay if it’s just the two of us and immediate family. How are other destinations brides going about planning?

My bff has her wedding same day as yours. her isn't a destination wedding but a majority of the guests are out of state and she also said that at the end of the day she will still get married and whomever can come, come. she said she basically just cares for if the wedding parties and their immediate families can come so that's the important part.

I was thinking the same thing! So many people are asking questions and being negative. It’s quite draining and discouraging. I am trying to remain hopeful though.

Yeah if at the end of the day, who you deem as most important can come, then it's all good!

    Hi Staci,

I'm so sorry you're going through this! COVID-19 has put a damper on the good times, for sure. I'm also sad to hear that your friends and/or family aren't being supportive and encouraging during this difficult time.

Thank goodness you decided to post in the WW community, though, because you're definitely not alone! Here are a couple of other discussions with September brides:

Any september brides canceling their wedding?

How are my September brides feeling?

And here are several discussions with *destination* wedding couples:

Destination Brides & Covid. What are you doing?

Destination Weddings in October ! Are you canceling/postponing??

Sept 2020 Wedding in Europe..postpone or cancel? - bonus: it's also a Sept. date!

My fingers are crossed for a relatively quick resolution to this pandemic, so you can move forward with your September wedding date as planned. Best of luck! Smiley heart

Thanks, Amy! I’m still holding on to my Sept date. I did change my bridal shower date from May to August. I’m grateful to be healthy and employed so I’m trying to keep my spirits up in that aspect. Just praying for things to turn around QUICKLYYYY lol. Thanks for the info about the other chats Smiley smile

I'm in your best friend's boat, down to the same day. It isn't a destination wedding for me, but all of my family, and some close friends. Because my family is out of state - we're REALLY hoping that everything is back on track by then.

Thank you so much for this. My FH and I have been debating on whether to move it to Oct, assuming that date is available.

Her family is also entirely out of state too, as are a majority of her close friends. but since we are planning to make it there even if we can't fly, she seems to be ok with continuing forward knowing that we will try to make it anyway
