Destination Brides & Covid. What are you doing?

Eraena, on April 21, 2020 at 7:22 PM Posted in Community Conversations 0 11

Hi beautiful bride to be's! Ok so I am in a bit of a pickle and would love some great advice. My fiance and I were supposed to get married in Cancun, MX June 13th, however we have decided to postpone. Our venue isn't giving us our money back but they have offered to move the date at no charge. I am leaning towards possibly moving it to end of August because both my fiance and I work in education so it becomes challenging having in during any other time but the summer time. Just wondering what other destination wedding brides are doing!

So far we’re keeping our date in October. We’re getting married in Riviera Maya, Mexico. We’re hopeful things will be fine by then but will make a decisions to change if we have to. Best of luck to you!

Hi! Teacher here as well! Have you considered thanksgiving break? That’s our backup date and honeymoon week for our July wedding.

Yes I hope so! I think October you should be ok. I'm just nervous about pushing it too far about because they keep talking about the possibility of their being a second wave and we've already been engaged for over two years now!

Shoutout to you fellow educator Smiley heart We're trying to weigh out all the options, the thing is we are also relocating to upstate NY, we are currently in NYC, so I wouldn't want to take off additional time in November when we start jobs at a new school. Such a hard decision! Thankfully my guests have been super understanding and still relatively open to traveling in possibly August (contingent to it being safe to travel and all).

Same here! We got engaged January last year but we wanted a long engagement since we’re having a destination wedding. We wanted to give our family and friends time to make payments plus our date is our anniversary so I hope and pray we can keep it.

We’re 9/1 planned for Siena Italy. No changes yet...so far weddings are all cancelled or postponed in Italy thru June. So looking like we’ll have to see what happens in the next weeks/month to make any decision yet. I really hope things turn around but I’m starting to feel it in my stomach we are going to need to postpone. Especially because it’s Italy. Best of luck to you all in these stressful and unknown times.

Yes good luck to you! Our honeymoon was supposed to be in Italy in June but we had to cancel that as well. I hope you get to have your wedding! Italy is beautiful.
