Cheap Wedding? *dress Opinion pls*

Trisha, on August 13, 2019 at 5:44 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 88
Is ANYONE having a < 2,000 wedding???
Has anyone bought a dress that is not from a bridal shop? Like under $200? Lol. I want something beautifully simple and if i'm only gonna wear it once i might as well make it cheap!
I was thinking of getting a white flowy dress and tie dying the bottom of it so that its got our wedding colors watercolored at the bottom.

Please tell me I'm not the only one doing a cheap wedding? Its going to be pretty small and its only ONE day of my whole life. I just need it to go beautifully not cost a lot.

A friend is getting married for less than $2k. She ended up buying three dresses from Lulu’s (to be able to have a choice). She and I had be scouring Poshmark for NWT bridal gowns (theres a bunch you’d be surprised).

Lulu's has fantastic dresses under and around $200. You can order quite a few and return what you don't like. You could also try Amazon prime wardrobe. You only pay for what you keep. Lastly, you could go to bridal shops, try on designer gowns, find one you love, and order it off a bridal resale shop such as StillWhite, Poshmark, or ebay. You have several options. Facebook marketplace also.

I got a really lovely wedding-ish dress from Torrid for $60 (on sale from $120, I think), but that’s plus size.

Ultimately, my mom wanted me to have a special dress picking out moment, so I decided to get one from David’s Bridal.

I agree with the ideas everyone else has given. I found my dress on fb marketplace in a different size for 75% off because the girl decided to get a new dress.

I had a 20k wedding and still bought a 200 dollar dress. I got the Jones dress from BHLDN. People have listed plenty of places to check. You don't have to spend 1800 dollars on a dress to be a bride!

Bought my dress at JJSHOUSE.com. I was nervous about buying from someplace I never heard of but it worked out great. Floor sample that they cleaned prior to shipping for $50. It’s tea length and just like I saw online.

They have all styles and colors. I highly recommend.

Yes! Our budget is like... $500 lol. I picked up a torrid “wedding dress” for $5 at the thrift store. I still haven’t decided if that’s what I’m wearing but will most likely end up altering it to wear.

I work at David’s Bridal, we have a line called DB Studio that is meant to be a more affordable mine. Some dresses may be $250, but there are quiet a few choices! Very cute dresses. Also you can sometimes find a good clearance dress for around $200! It will just depend if they have your size available (since the clearance ones are discontinued styles). But that is what I always recommend to my brides! Or you could even get a prom dress in white. You have options!!!

Yay for small weddings! My wedding total was around $3,400 range. I bought my dress for $150, at a donation based wedding dress shop. Bought some cheap floral fabric and had it added.

I would definitely recommend thrift stores, Facebook marketplace and David's bridal clearance.
