Is ANYONE having a < 2,000 wedding??? Has anyone bought a dress that is not from a bridal shop? Like under $200? Lol. I want something beautifully simple and if i'm only gonna wear it once i might as well make it cheap! I was thinking of getting a white flowy dress and tie dying the bottom of it...

I was thinking of getting a white flowy dress and tie dying the bottom of it so that its got our wedding colors watercolored at the bottom.

Please tell me I'm not the only one doing a cheap wedding? Its going to be pretty small and its only ONE day of my whole life. I just need it to go beautifully not cost a lot.

Mine’s closer to 5k but budget dresses can be had at any budget! My personal favorites are gorgeous lace tea length dresses from Chi Chi London. I own a nonwedding dress from there and I can attest to their quality! Shop during a sale, could get a gorgeous dress for under $100.

If you live in Oregon or Washington; I highly recommend "Brides for a Cause"; they have one Oregon location and two Washington locations. I went to the Portland, OR location and I found two amazing dresses; they were both on sale, my actual wedding dress was only $75 and then my other dress, something to change into during the reception was only $150.

I’m trying to keep it cheap, but people (family) seem to want to but in with suggestions that only seem to make it more expensive. On that note I will go into my dress. I went to David’s Bridal and actually found some cheap dresses! Mine was 641 after tax, but they had a lot of options around 100-150 easily. They were also beautiful (I just happened to fall in love with the more expensive of the three dresses I had trouble deciding between).

Our budget is a bit bigger at about $5k, but mostly because I really wanted nice photographs and photographers in our area are so expensive! FH and I both agreed we didn’t want to be in debt or spend money we could use for things we consider a better use of money than a wedding. We’re just focusing our budget on the things that are most important to us- #1 being location because it’s a place that is significant to us.

I bought my dress from a local boutique for $199, it’s a discontinued sample Maggie Sottero dress and was marked down for the National Bridal Sales Event in July. I found a couple others at a bridal consignment store I liked too, and I liked that I could try them on rather than just buying used online without knowing for sure. I love the idea of dying the bottom of the dress- I think that will look incredible!

I'm *trying* to plan an elopement for around 2k. My dress was $390 from Etsy. Amazon has some beautiful dresses for $200 and under. Just read reviews and look at review pictures to get a better idea of what it will actually look like. I also bought my wedding band from etsy for $260. Depening on what you're looking for, they have some really nice options. Poshmark is also another great place to look along with fb! Most states have a wedding group for selling/trading/advertising. My fiance hasn't bought his attire yet, but he is eyeing one from tjmaxx for under $200 and wants to get a tattoo wedding band instead of a ring, so that will be around $75-100 for what he was quoted. For my bouquet, I will be diying with fake flowers from Michael's. We are eloping in the White Mountains so that takes care of "decor" (permit is $100), our officiant is $150 and airbnb is $475. The rest will go towards gas (4 hour drive, so 8hrs total, food, ect. My bestfriend who is a photographer, asked to do our pictures for us as her gift to us so that also helps out a lot, though we do plan on giving her something in return. I think as long as you are realistic, it can be totally doable.

I got mine for $325 during a David’s bridal sale. And we’re making a lot and bought a lot from wish. Granted, we have 200 ppl and a 20k+ budget but.... my first marriage my wedding was about 5k so I think it’s doable.

I know a lot of people already said lulus, but also check out anthropology (I found one I loved for 175), there’s also a website called southern alternative. Honestly just check out a bunch of stores you know have good quality dresses, you never know what you might find

Our wedding is going to cost more, mostly because we want to have a certain # of family there and can't leave people out. But I'm not planning on buying a dress that's super expensive. I completely agree with the whole feeling of 'only wearing it for one day'.
I don't have the funds (or money from family) to spend even close to $1000 on a dress.
I think $200 is very reasonable, especially if you find something you like!

Look for bridal consignment shops in your area! There are a few in my state. One in particular uses the money they earn from selling dresses go support womens charities. One of my coworkers got an Alfred Angelo still with tags for only $150!

I bought my wedding dress from Amazon. I was able to work with the seller to customize it for $100 total. I spent a couple of months researching the sellers and reading reviews, especially the ones with pictures so I could find someone with my body style. I do still recommend trying dresses on to see what styles you like on your body. We originally budgeted $7,000 but as of now we are under $4,000 with 2 months to go.

DB several times a year has the $99 sale. Since you've got some time try looking for one of those sales! The 2nd dress I tried on was $99 and was a simple hi-low with pockets and I loved it. I was going to go with it until I tried on the 3rd dress and then that one won lol. But I 100% would have went with dress 2 if dress 3 wasn't tried on.

I bought a dress from forever 21 aha and most people couldn't believe the price, quality, and that it was from forever 21. I definitely recommend looking at a non traditional route for wedding dresses because a lot of white gowns are very bridal

I ordered the True Love white beaded rhinestone maxi from Lulu’s ultimately it’s not my dress, but it was really beautiful on. Returns and return shipping is free and you can’t beat the price at $250. Good luck!
