Carat, cut, clarity, or color? Which "C" mattered most to you? πŸ’Ž

Lynnie, on August 22, 2018 at 2:05 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 70

There's a whole lot more that goes into your diamond decision than just the shape! Color, cut, clarity, and carats all play a big part in determining your final jewelry bill. πŸ’°

So - how much did size matter to you?? Were there certain color or quality ranges you wanted to stay within? Did your fiancΓ©(e) tackle all of these ring decisions on their own?

Which "C" mattered most to you? πŸ’Ž

Carat mattered the most to me. I have an oval halo and wanted a 1.5 center stone.

Honestly dont know much about all of this stuff. I don't know what the different colors look like or any of that. My fh picked it out completely (he did know pear was one of the shapes I liked though) he also has mentioned to me that he picked a clearer smaller one over a more beige colored bigger option. I'm happy with that. He did really good and I think the size looks perfect on my hand. Plus the price was good!

The balance of all three was important to me. I didnt want a really flawed 7 carat ring. But I also wanted some sparkle! He did good!

Carat mattered the most to me.

I hate yellow-ish diamonds so that definitely was a deterrent.

None of this should matter to anyone! What a materialistic post. It matters that someone asked you go marry them! Might as well be with a Ringpop or twist tie!

Clarity mattered most to FH, he wanted a nice ring with almost perfect clarity.

I didn't pick out my diamond so my FH did an awesome job on his own with the C's (all of them with the exception of carat since most would think I have a "small" diamond). Only requirement I gave him was I didn't want a large diamond so I told him 1 and under with carat.

my e-ringCarat, cut, clarity, or color? Which "C" mattered most to you? πŸ’Ž 2

The only thing that mattered to me was the setting. I picked out a Megan Thorne picture frame setting in rose gold. My husband then went back to the jeweler and picked out the diamond. I didn't really care and wanted him to be comfortable with the price since that was the bulk of the cost for the ring. The jeweler recommended an emerald cut. (picture of ring is not mine but is almost identical).

I wanted a cushion cut in a halo about 1ct.

Once we started looking it became clear I didn't want us to spend the money on a diamond. Something that is not rare. We went with a Moissanite which let me have a sparkle that a diamond would never have, I got the size and cut I wanted at a wonderful price.

Cost $$$ lol jk it was just the only thing not listed. I guess color used to be important to me. I had always wanted a sapphire ring but FH inherited his great grandmother's ring. we were both very close to her so this made it so special. I think the only thing that would have made me not want it is if it had been huge or clunky but it is super delicate and beautiful!

I think this is unfair. Obviously everyone loves their future spouse no matter what but this is something you will be wearing for the rest of your life and want to actually like. That’s why it was so important for me to tell my FH what shape etc I preferred and thought would look best on my hand.

I wanted a well rounded good quality of all 4 of the C. I am not a materialistic person by any means, but i love jewlery and I wear it everyday. I have sensitive skin so I have always need good quality. This is the only thing I wanted to be super nice and i LOVE my ring. He picked it out on his own and did a wonderful job Smiley smile

FH picked my ring himself, he knew the style that I wanted, but did the shopping and picking himself. He did great! He spent a ton of time looking at diamonds, finding one that was *almost* flawless, a good size, and amazing color. Extremely happy with his pick!

    Cost, Carat, and Color.

I refused to get a diamond because, well, I believe they're an elaborate scam. Pretty, yes, but not worth the money, at least to me.

I wanted something more unique. I knew I wanted a morganite stone. Not to mention, if I went with a gemstone, I didn't have to compromise the size of the carat for the price.

Oh, that is quite different! I don't think I've seen an engagement ring like that before. Beautiful!

H picked out the diamond, but I guess what was most important to me was the cut. My e-ring is a vintage setting, and he picked out a vintage stone to complement the setting (Old European cut, I believe).

I also like that it's a round-cut diamond, but appears to be cushion cut because of the square setting.
