Can I pick my own wedding band?

Private User, on February 12, 2016 at 11:23 PM Posted in Planning 0 27

I went shopping today and stopped by at one of the jewelry stores in the mall just to look at wedding bands for my FH. I know he purchased my band the day he bought my engagement ring but when I came home and I asked him if I could see the band and when I put it next to my engagement ring it seems like you can't see it. What's the standard for wedding band size? I also asked him if he would feel offended if I wanted a different one and he said he was okay with that

There's no standard. It's jewelry and it's all about taste and what you can afford. Many women pick their own bands but if your FH already purchased one I would be very hesitant to say you want to choose another.

I picked my own out. I ended up with 2 skinny multi diamond bands, one on each side of E ring, which is also a band with 3 knots in it. I love it, and get complements on it all the time

There is no "standard", it's what you think is best!

My husband and I picked out our bands together. I'm not sure why you "couldn't" pick out your own. You can do whatever you want.

We picked ours together. They were the first ones we tried on. We looked at several places, but we liked the ones we saw first the best.

I picked out my engagement ring and wedding ring (as a set), and FH is picking out his wedding ring.

My FH picked my e-ring all himself. We will go together to get our bands.

I totes picked my wedding band. And DH picked his, with a bit of my input. I encouraged him to get platinum vs white gold. He already loves it so much and gets compliments.

We went to a few stores and picked ours together.

There's no standard for the width. I tried them on with the e-ring to see if I liked the way they looked together.

My fiancé is showing me examples of what he likes and wants me to surprise him with his wedding band. For me, we feel like he already surprised me with the engagement ring, so I am getting final say on my wedding band (we intend to shop for it together). I actually have an oddly shaped engagement ring, so we will most likely have a shadow band made.

FH hates shopping so I made executive decisions based on his online browsing feedback for his bands (everyday and fancier). I'll probably just go with a simple diamond one - but it's mostly up to me since I'll be wearing it.

I thought it made sense for each of us to choose our own bands. Since we will be wearing them everyday, it's important that we actually like the style. We went shopping together and gave each other feedback, but ultimately each made our own final decision.

We picked ours together, but a lot of it was me picking the one one that I liked.

We picked ours out together too. We each ultimately picked out our own, but we got each other's opinion. It was a fun experience to shop together though!

We picked ours out together. If he already got you one, I personally would feel bad asking for a different one. Ultimately it's your decision.

He picked mine out since it came as a set. He knew I wanted them to be flush. We went later and picked his and I bought it. I don't think there's a standard, it's just a matter of preference. I wanted a dainty band with diamonds on it and he did a great job.

He picked my E-ring by himself, but I picked the band!
