Wow, you ladies have some pretty awesome cakes. Our cake is included in our venue price. I haven't met with the baker yet but, when I described the cake to the venue owner he said that I would probably have to pay more because of my design.

I am doing cupcakes (100) and a 6 in on top. For the cupcakes, delivery & setup (which my venue is about 50 miles from my baker), and a display mine is only about $400. Smiley smile

It's a more detailed replica of this Smiley smile

This lady makes them. But I have decided to do mine myself. I am going to cut it out myself and put the bling on. That's not "MY' cake it's just the one that I want. http://salina-ks.americanlisted.com/art-antiques/bling-wedding-cake-toppers-25-hutchinson-area_20202183.html

I have never ordered from them. I just found a site that does them.

Apparently I'm getting a good deal! Using a local baker and getting 100 cupcakes, plus 6 inch cake on top and an 8 inch grooms cake for $308.00. that includes delivery and set up and rental of the cup cake stand Smiley smile The wedding stuff will have butter cream icing with mini fondont flowers on it and the grooms cake is fondont.

We had a budget of $350. Ours ended up being $300 with free delivery and 3 tiers. Each tier is a different flavor also at no extra cost. Our baker also sends you a free top tier on your first anniversary so you don't have to freeze the one from the wedding.

Mine is relatively cheap compared to everyone else's, but my baker gave me a 10% discount because I found her on WeddingWire. We are getting a three tier round with 3 different flavors that feeds 120, as well as a Colts themed groom's cake for FH that feeds 25 people for $368. That includes tax, delivery, and set-up. We also get a free top-tier for our one year anniversary, so no eating frozen one year old cake!

As of right, I am paying $80 for a three tiered cake and 100 cupcakes. I have estimated 188 people but I am sure 40 of them won't be attending because of work related and living out of state...I got lucky on price because my sister's cousin is doing it.

Have you considered other cake options? Such as cupcakes? They are a trend right now and have many benefits! For one, they are much cheaper. Cakes typically run from $5.00 per slice all the way up to $14.00 per slice. It can get pricey! A trend right now is to build cupcake trees - they are stands that come in all different sizes, so you can tier them on a table and they look beautiful! Or you can set a "tree" on each table. Cupcakes typically run anywhere from $1.50 per cupcake to around $3.50 per cupcake; depending on the type of frosting. It also cuts down on mess because you do not have to cut the cake - and also it cuts down on time! Many brides will still have a small cake for the bride and groom and sometimes the wedding party - and then they serve cupcakes to the rest of the guests. Cupcakes can be really fun, you can get really creative with them!

Another vote for looking outside the box and away from traditional "wedding cake bakeries".

We love Molly's cupcakes downtown but assumed they would be super pricey b/c they're kind of trendy. It was totally the opposite - they're way more affordable than the bakery our caterer uses and more willing to work with us on customizing things. After getting several quotes we're going with Molly's. Smiley smile

We're actually doing small round cakes as centerpieces, and then a bunch of mini cupcakes - can't decide if we're using the mini cupcakes as escort cards or just on the dessert table. Cost with delivery/setup and some extra decor is $4pp. The "wedding cakes" we looked at started at $4pp before delivery, taxes and other fees.
