I cannot even imagine asking anyone in my bridal party to dye their hair!

No way. I've actually never dyed my hair in my life, not even highlights.

I had a BM who offered because her hair is bright purple, I said no because I luv her for her, so I can't imagine before ask to do it myself. But with that being said asking a question is ok, but if the answer is no then you leave it be.

Nope. Especially since I would likely have to bleach my hair to get the "correct" color.

SnowQueen - that's what I would think! Why would you want them to look different than they do?! Even if it's a crazy color, that's who they are!

This story has gone pretty viral. I am kinda hoping the bride in question runs across it.

The only way this would be a reasonable request is if they made a dramatic change after you asked them to become a bridesmaid (like went from blonde to neon green) but not when it was that color before you asked them to be a bridesmaid...and def not if its natural!

I was asked to colour my hair back to a "normal" colour for someone's wedding. Yeah, we're not friends anymore. She was a Bridezilla for a bunch of reasons but this was one of them.

Just as a note, my hair is normally a dark chestnut brown, but in my early 20s my hair was every shade from platinum blonde to bright red. The bride didn't know what colour my hair would be by her wedding and didn't want it to offend any of her older relatives.

A friend of mine was actually instructed by her sister to dye her back to its natural color...that just astonished me. She was deeply hurt, the hair wasn't even that outlandish just some blue highlights. NEVER EVER NEVER. Nope.

No effing way. That's absolutely ridiculous. I can't imagine trying to dictate my friends' appearances in such a way. Asking them to wear a dress is one thing (granted, I let my girls pick their own dresses, just had to be the same color), but asking them to change a permanent part of themselves, even if it is technically a semi-permanent change, crosses the line in a HUGE way, IMO.

Yeah, absolutely not. As someone who has had their hair many different crazy colors (pink, purple, green, red, etc...), I could never ask my BMs to do that!
