Brides wearing flats

What made you decide to wear flats with your gown? Did you feel it took away from the occasion? If you've bought your flats, please post pictures! Thank you

I am wearing sandals because I am getting married in St Lucia and there will be sand involved. I am also super interested in being comfortable and heels are just not my thing (though I do wear wedges and block heels on occasion). I love my shoes and they are go perfectly with my wedding day "look" rather than taking away!

I just don't feel like spending the money on two different pairs of shoes that you can't see under the dress anyway. I'd be wearing flats for the entire reception anyway so I'm just going with them the whole time

I wore gold flats. No one probably even saw my shoes lol. I do not wear heels.

I'm wearing bedazzled converse. I'm so not a heel girl and our ceremony is outside so I didn't want to deal with walking through grass and mulch in heels.

I'm 5'11 and FH is 6'1" so I am planning on wearing flats, bought from Amazon. I did buy a 2" pair of heels that I am considering for the ceremony, but I still need to try them on with my dress.

Heels also from Amazon. Also adding the fact that I have Size 11 feet so it makes shoe buying a pain.

I'm wearing flats because I can't wear heels for shit. I would look like a mess.

Haven't bought them yet but I am. I'm 5"10 so I don't need height and I'm walking down a grassy hill and I also don't need to fall flat on my ass. I doubt the type of shoes I wear is going to take away any of the significance of me marrying my FH. (you can't even see my shoes under my dress)

Haven't looked for shoes yet. Comfort above everything.

DH is not even two inches taller than me, so since I hate heels anyway, there was no way I was going to make myself wear them. And to me, it would take away from the occasion more by wearing something that would make me that uncomfortable rather than by not wearing what you're "supposed" to wear. I actually had a pair of shoes I got for free and painted to the color I wanted, so all told, I spent less than $10 on my wedding shoes. Some of the paint had gotten scuffed off by the end of the night, but by then, I didn't care.

I'm probably wearing toms! I'm 6' 1 and a few inches taller than FH already. I never wear heels so wearing them on my wedding day just wouldn't be me at all!

I was actually at a wedding last night and the bride said to me about wearing heels "I don't know why I did this to myself, no one can see my shoes anyway!!"

I'm wearing ballet flats. I never wear heels so I didn't want to try to wear them just for the wedding and walk funny. My dress is long so know one will even know what I have on

Yep. I look like a T. rex when I walk in heels. I'm looking at flats for the ceremony and blinged out sneakers for the reception

I want to be as comfortable as possible and my FH is only like 2 or 3 inches taller than I am. These are the ones I ordered yesterday.

I'm actually wearing some ballet slippers and I might bedazzle them! Lol

I would love to wear heels, but as I've gotten older, me and heels don't agree. I can't even do wedges that long. Since I believe you can look fab & be comfortable, I def plan on wearing flats!

I'm only 5'3 and my FH is 6'. I don't think I have one pic of us in which I am wearing heels. So, I felt it wouldn't be a big deal if I wear flats-since I always have them on when we take pics anyway.

I wore rose gold Tieks. They were expensive, but worth it!

I have never been a heels girl. I can barely walk in them without looking like a horse. Wearing flats didn't take anything away. It allowed me to be comfortable and dance all night long!

I just hate shoes in general so the less I have on my feet the happier I am. I will go with some sort of sparkly sandal and likely end up barefoot after the ceremony.
