Brides wearing flats

LanaKane, on July 15, 2017 at 11:03 AM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 107

What made you decide to wear flats with your gown? Did you feel it took away from the occasion? If you've bought your flats, please post pictures! Thank you

I did! I'm 5'11 and wasn't trying to be taller than my FH. I hate flats, so I got a $13 pair from a local store in my mall. My dress was too long to see them anyway

I'm wearing flats or very low heel. My father (whose giving me away) is only 5'10 and I didn't want to be taller than him (I'm 5'7).

I don't even own any heels. I'm 5'9" barefoot, FH is 5'7". I like formal events where other women wear heels, I get to feel like I'm normal height for a night.

I'm wearing flats because I'm more comfortable in them and it's going to be a long day. We're getting married outside in the grass so I thought I'd have a hard time wearing them during the ceremony. Plus I didn't want to have my dress hemmed with heels but wear flats during the reception and be dragging my dress around all night

I'm wearing sandals basically only because my dress was ordered the perfect length with no extra to accommodate for heels. It annoyed me at first because I wanted ceremony heels but at least I won't have to change shoes inbetween now, I guess.

I'm contemplating wearing flats. I'm 5'9" and FH 5'10" and I don't want to be taller than him in pictures. Plus our ceremony is outside in the grass and I don't want my heels digging in the grass. I'm still debating though because I do love heels and believe they complete the bridal look. Here are a few flats I've been checking out.

I wanted to be comfortable. I bought gorgeous flats but I wore a long dress so I don't even think anybody saw them.

I'm wearing flats because my FH is the same height as me, and for my sanity! I have one pair for the ceremony and a pair of Greek style sandals for the reception. I have an ivory dress and gold earrings.

I use a walker, so for me heels are a death trap. Flats so I can walk, and not worry about falling Smiley smile

I bought flats because I hate heels. I have a pair of rose gold sandals I got from Ross for $15. I have a flight of stairs to walk down before to walk down the aisle

Not wearing flats but vans. ceremony is outside near a lake on a farm. I've never worn heels in life. and I've been wearing vans since I was 14. certainly isn't taking away from the event, just makes it more personal for me. they are custom designed too so FH actually will be wearing a matching pair.

I'm wearing flat sandals and love them. Our ceremony is on grass, as will a lot of our pictures. Our reception in general has gorgeous outside areas that I want to enjoy without sinking. Plus, my fiance and I are the same height, which I don't massively care about but it will make pictures more even. Also, I want to be comfortable the whole night and not worry about my feet hurting. My sandals are from Badgley Mishka and are definitely dressy.

I'm wearing flats because heels hurt my feet really badly and I want to be able to walk with comfort and not worry about tripping down the aisle. Plus FH and I are almost the same height

I found a great deal the other day at Marshall's for gorgeous sparkly heels and matching flats (they are the same brand and $29.99 each, so the cost of what I could have spend on 1 pair!)-- I'm doing heels for the ceremony and flats for the reception! I'll do my dress alterations in my flats.
