Best place to buy large candles & candle holders for centerpieces?? (I have pictures!) *GOOGLE QUEEEENS PLZ*

Kimi K, on January 5, 2012 at 2:57 PM Posted in Style and Décor 0 20

Hey ya'll ...

So the search begins for centerpiece accessories! Where is the best place to look for an array of different sized candles? The hobby stores around my area do not carry them (already looked). I'm also on the hunt for circle glass container things to hold the candles. Basically I'm looking to buy what I've pictured. below.

Several types of vases (cylinder, slightly flared, and votives) are available at Dollar Tree. The cylinder are 7.25" and are $12 for 12.

    Candles are available at

If you have a Big Lots in your area, they always have lots of candles for inexpensive prices (at least the one local seems to).

Hope that helps some. I'll see if I can find some others.

Kimi K - Try Crate and Barrel outlet in Leesburg. The one in Alexandria had them on sale right after the holidays for $.99 and $1.49 each.

Bed Bath and Beyond have great unscented candles that have cotton wicks and burn for a long time. They come in multi packs of different varieties in ivory or white. We loved them because they burned all night and were practically smokeless. I am a huge believer in not skimping on candles. Cheaply made candles don't burn well and put out a lot of smoke. With coupons, the price decreased significantly.

The vases can be found at Dollar Tree.

Wow, how are you going to transport these? A tip....we stuffed each vase with a kitchen towel and then wrapped them in bubble wrap.

Thank you everyone! This gave me a great head start!!

@Amy O: The Crate and Barrel outlet closed a few months ago Smiley sad They turned it into an AE. It was a sad, sad day when I found that out - that was by far my favorite store.

@Carole: We have a LOT of things that need to get down there so we're going to mail it all to our hotel 2 weeks prior to leaving. We've got boxes and a LOT of bubble wrap.

Kimi....When having a DW, bubble wrap is a bride's best friend. Mailing it is a good idea. Obviously, I don't need to tell you to get a tracking number and signature. : )

Kimi - I've got tons of them that I've been buying off Craigslist for my little second hand wedding store - are you near Philly? If so you're welcome to borrow them. :-)

Kimi K - there is still a Crate and Barrel outlet in Old Town Alexandria. http://www.crateandbarrel.com/Stores/Store.aspx?storeid=58

You can also order the vases by the dozen from Dollartree.com and shipping is free if you pick up in-store vs. home delivery.

Ikea might have the candles - there are locations in Hoodbridge and College Park.

If you want different heights and sizes for pillar candles I would say go here:

    http://wholesalecandlewarehouse.com/

They tend to have discount codes to users. Check for sales from time to time which also helps.
