Yes, she actually found one or two options at David's Bridal but she would have to get the dress altered as its too long.

Ian - Congrats! there are few and far between dresses that are not going to be super long. Alterations will probably be needed. However, that doesn't mean it is impossible to find

Is there a specific length or style that she is wanting?

Truly, she can wear whatever she loves or feels beautiful in. Being in South Florida, I've shot many beach weddings (& also got married on the beach 3 years ago). She can certainly take a look at my blog to see what other brides have worn.

I've attached a photo...my dress was very simple...made of Thai silk (which made it very light weight for a June beach wedding). There is no right or wrong when it comes to the dress...it's the one she feels fantastic in!

I agree with trying to find a bridesmaid dress in white. there are a lot of inspiration photos on this site...maybe she could look at those and get an idea of what she is wanting. then you can take those pics to the bridal shops and they can find something similar.

Look at other sites and stores that do not necessarily sell wedding dresses. Casual means she has options other than formal wear shops and websites. It opens up whole bunches of stores that just sell clothing.

Is she looking for something flowy? About what length(above the knee, tea length(mid calve), short in front and long in back, etc)? Keep in mind actual beach wedding dresses are usually long, so you may need to accept having to get alterations.

BHLDN has a lot of flowy dresses. I don't know your budget, but try there?

Check the special occasion dress section too. If they are too long alter them, Im gong to have to with mine, Im doing Vegas!

Tell her to google Bill Levkoff 115, that's a BM dress I'm wearing for our beach wedding in white. Chiffon is very flowy and beach material. Tell me what you think.

I am having the EXACT same problem. I want a short beaching wedding dress and I don't really care for David Bridal's selection. Everything I have found is too formal - I have searched all the stores to see if I could find a white summer dress that could double as my wedding dress, but no avail. I wan't something unique that is FASHIONABLE, short, beachy and sexy.

Most dresses are too long for the average woman. David's does have some light flowy ones, chiffon reminds me of beach weddings

She can also look into Sarong dresses. She can wear white with a color accent and her girls can wear a color. Here is an example of my friends wedding when they wore Sarongs.

I was just about to post what Shannon B did. J crew is a great option for beach wedding gowns, they have a very flowy look

Thanks Kelly and Leisa! I'll have to send those links to my fiance. She is the same as me - has looked at David's Bridal, all the designers, etc. and is looking for something trendy/beachy/cali-style. She would like chiffon material and yes, very flowyyyy.
