ATTN: Brides who wear glasses...

Michele, my Belle, on November 29, 2012 at 12:28 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 34

Did you wear your glasses during the ceremony? Pictures?

I wear reading glasses for computer work and reading (duh). I think I look better with glasses on - the glasses tend to accentuate my eyes. The glasses I wear are dark rims with blue frames. I don't know if I should get new "wedding glasses" or wear my regular or skip the glasses all together. Thoughts please.

I did! My black heavy rimmed glasses would have clashed with my dress. I planned on wearing my contacts, but as a backup I chose a pair that would go with my dress. Funny enough they are my faves!

I personally love contacts. I'm only wearing glasses right now cuz I need a new prescription but we cant afford contacts, they're so expensive lol. I wore contacts for my 1st wedding & the 2nd time around I'll have contacts by then too.

If glasses suit you on a daily basis, I'm a firm believer of not trying to make yourself not look like you on your wedding day, if that makes sense lol. So I say still wear your glasses. Maybe get some pimped glasses to match your wedding colors/theme/dress lol. If you are gonna go with no glasses or contacts, keep your glasses on hand as backup

I normally wear them, but for the ceremony i will either get contacts, or if we run out of money, i will take them off for the ceremony.Everything will be fuzzy as hell but no way they are making it into my pictures

I definitely plan to wear glasses. I feel like I don't look like myself without them!

I forgot to mention in my post above that, in fact, I bought specific glasses for the wedding! They're tortoiseshell and sort of cat-eye shaped Smiley smile

I wear glasses each & everyday from the time I wake up til I go to bed, without fail! I wore contacts on my wedding day though. I don't feel "fancy" when I wear my glasses. Oddly enough though, I got new glasses a few months before the wedding & picked frames that matched the wedding just in case haha.

Either way, I don't think I look *that* different & I felt more comfortable = confident. See difference below ;]

I've been wearing glasses since the 4th grade. On my wedding day I wore contacts. When I photograph couples who are wearing glasses, I make sure to take some of the portraits with and without glasses. I would discuss this with your photographer prior to your wedding day so he/she can plan ahead. Also, antiglare lenses would be very helpful!

I wear both glasses and contacts about evenly. I will not be wearing glasses the day if for a couple of reasons.

    1) I don't like the way they look in pics and it makes it harder for the photographer to get good pics. I'm not the most photogenic person anyways, so why make it harder?

    2) I will likely be a crier, and trying to dab my eyes while wearing glasses is a little more difficult.

I am in a similar situation. . Ive worn glasses since early elementary school. i have worn contacts before, but like Masquarade, I dont have any now b/c they're so expensive. Im going to have to figure something out tho, b/c the glasses I have, have transition lenses and I really think that would look silly in my outdoor wedding photos.

I have worn glasses since I was like 6, so I feel weird without them. My favorite pair, though, doesn't have that anti-reflective coating, because they're technically safety glasses from work, lol (they are just regular glasses made by 3M to be extra unbreakable, not actually giant safety glasses). I think I'm going to wear them anyhow, since FH and I both wear our glasses all the time. I even read with them in bed. We'll see.

I usually wear glasses to work and generally everyday. I used to wear contacts most of the time but I've been on a break for about two years. I moved to VA in fall of 2010 and my contacts crapped out and Rx expired so I just stuck with my glasses. I recently went back to the eye dr. to get contacts. I really don't want to wear my glasses in wedding photos. I feel more confident in contacts or without my glasses on my face but I can't really go without vision correction! I am having to get used to how I look without my glasses since I've been wearing them so long now!

I have really terrible vision. (I once asked my optometrist what my vision without glasses was, and he replied, "I don't know. My chart doesn't go any worse than 20/1,000.") Glasses tend to be very heavy (even with the very light plastics), and to have that Coke-bottle-bottom appearance. So I wear contacts almost all the time. However, at the time of my wedding I was wearing reading glasses from the drugstore over my contacts for reading. I elected to wear just the contacts walking down the aisle, but to leave a pair of reading glasses on the table up front, so I could use them for things like reading my vows.

Like you, I thought I looked better in the glasses, but after my makeup trial I realized that the glasses were really hiding my eyes.

FH wore his and unfortunately his are transitions so since everything was outside the glasses darkened and in the pics he looks like he is wearing sunglasses - kinda funny though.

Seriously though, if you are going to have your makeup done professionally have him/her do it without your glasses on so you can see if you like how you look without them.

Being that my make up is rather pricey, I don't want my glasses to cover any of it, so I'm wearing my contacts (purple lol) and bringing my case, solution, and glasses just in case my eyes get tired, I can take them out after the major pictures if need be.

I wore contacts, but my H wore glasses. I love him with glasses, he always wears then, and that's how I know him.

However, I really wish he didn't wear them for at least part of the wedding. The glasses have the anti-reflective coating, and they still have that glare in many pics. I've been told you can't even photoshop it, so unfortunately that's many ruined pics.

I wear glasses every day. I tried wearing contacts a long time ago but never really like them. I just got a new pair of glasses this year and thought I wear them for the wedding but they are transition lens and I don't want them to turn in my pics. I plan to get like the starter set of contacts and practice wearing them on the weekends so I will be comfortable wearing them on my wedding day. Plus with contacts I can get fake eyelashes!
