Anyone planning on just wearing their wedding band?

Finally mrs.jkr, on January 3, 2015 at 2:47 PM Posted in Community Conversations 0 29

My engagement ring and wedding doesn't really match up with my wedding ring (my gem setting is big enough that there weren't any rings that fit around it), so I'm planning on wearing just my wedding band and my engagement ring on special occasions or on my right hand.

How are you planning on wearing my wedding band?

I probably will some of the time especially for more casual situations like going to the supermarket, gym, etc. I also do a lot of crafting. My engagement ring has a larger stone that sits up high so its not the most practical if I am using my hands a lot. My band is white gold with with diamonds on it, but I also like the idea of simple gold band without diamonds.

@Nicoletta, exactly! I love my ring and all, but it may be easier with just the band. I was afraid FH would be upset, but I asked him about it and he said that it's fine and makes sense. I do have a pretty little band though, so it should look nice enough Smiley smile

This made me laugh. When we exchanged my original engagement ring for the one I have now, my FH looked at me as he was handing over his check card, and said "you do plan to wear this everyday even after we get married, right?" lol

After we get married I plan on wearing only my band, but on special occasions I will wear my engagement ring too. I work in a lab and I am constantly putting on and taking off gloves so it would be easier for me to wear my band. Plus my ring is high and the diamond is big, so it's difficult for me now to wear gloves. Lol

Yes it's a shame but we are not allowed to wear stones in rings at work. I have a plain simple ring which I'll wear for everyday. Special occasions like you ladies have stated bring on the bling bling. (the pastor is going to bless that one also, so it feels meaningful)

I still wear my engagement ring after marriage, but once he takes over the family farm and we're working that and we have children, I probably won't wear it all the time for safety's sake--just special occasions.

I usually wear my engagement ring still, but sometimes after a meal out, with all of the salt, it just gets too tight and I have to move one of them over to my right hand Smiley tongue

I put mine in a box. It would catch on all my sweaters. I love it, but it doesn't work for my job. My wedding band is plain and simple and perfect for work.

I think there will be times when I want to wear just my wedding band, which is why I am definitely not having them soldered together. But I love my engagement ring!

I purposely picked out an e-ring that I would never have to take off for this reason. I didn't want to be fussing with whether or not to wear my ring, or having it get caught on things/scratching me. It's just a channel set band of diamonds, and so is the wedding band (but a bit smaller). I love the practicality of it. Big rings are nice, but really just aren't for me. I'm glad I got to pick out my own ring for this reason (FH proposed without a ring because he didn't know what to get).

I am sort of. My band is also serving dual-purpose as my e-ring currently.

My e-ring and wedding band were passed down to me. The wedding band isn't what I would consider to be practical every day wear. We've been trying to find a wedding band with a bit less..... bling, but it's proven to be very difficult. We'll probably just have a band made and I will wear both. The fancy wedding band will be worn when we got out somewhere fancy... So like... Once every 5 years or so lol

I plan on wearing mine, but going into nursing it is ill advised to wear protruding rings so I'll take it off before and after work.

We decided not even to have engagement rings. We got plain wedding bands, because we wanted the symbolism but not showy rings.

I had my engagement ring and wedding band soldered together... with the way they're shaped, it looked weird when they'd spin. Luckily, they're not too bling-y and low enough in profile that I can wear them comfortably all the time!

We just started long at wedding bands this past month and it hit me that I can't wear a wedding band on the same finger and since I now have the "taken" band (when your skin has worn down and molded around the ring). We've decided that I will where my wedding band on the other hand. I love my e-ring so much I don't really want a wedding band

I plan to wear my e-ring most of the time with my wedding band. But i will just wear my wedding band on some occasions- like the gym, while cooking, doing crafts, etc. But now I usually just take my e-ring off for those occasions.

I definitely plan to wear my ering whenever possible, but it only fits on my left ring finger, so if there is ever a time when it doesn't fit (bloated, pregnant, etc) then I will have to just wear my wedding ring. We knew this when we picked out the wedding ring, so I went with something slightly more showy (eternity band all the way around at about 1.25 total ct) for times when that's the only thing I'm wearing.

I plan on wearing both. But my biggest pet peeve is when you wear your e-ring and w-band backwards. W-band first then e-ring.
