Aisle song

Katryna, on January 18, 2022 at 10:24 AM Posted in Wedding Ceremony 1 6
Does anyone have any insight on ceremony music for Walking down the aisle. I want the bridal party to walk to a separate song than me but I also want it to flow well

I think it will really depend on your taste in music and what your 'vision' is for your walking down the aisle moment! If you have songs that you and your partner like, I'd maybe try pairing those together to see if you like the flow of them!

If it helps, our wedding party and my FH are walking to "500 Miles - Sleeping at Last", and I'm walking to "Repeat Until Death - Novo Amor". They're both softer songs, so we felt like they blended well, and we also love both songs so it's an added bonus!

Hi Katryna! I'd start by picking your processional song, then you can stay within the same vibe and genre when selecting a song for your bridal party!

I picked my song 1st. We ended up choosing another song that I had considered for my entrance for the bridal party (it has a slightly faster tempo). Doing it that way made it easier. Both songs are about 4 minutes in length, which is perfect for the processional (groom, groomsmen, 2 sets of parents, 4 bridesmaids) as it SHOULDN’T take more than 4 minutes for them to get down a relatively short aisle 🤞🏻 My song will have to be faded out, so that was also a consideration. I’ll be walking down during the 1st part of the song and hopefully fading out mid-chorus. So, consider the mood, tempo, length, & timing! 👍🏻

Our bridal party walked in to a Celtic version of Canon in D. I know it's one of the most overused processional songs, but this version was just too beautiful, and I have Irish ancestry. My dad and I walked to an instrumental version of the theme from The Princess Bride, the version that's played at the end of the movie.

I'm processing to Rondeau et Fanfares. Everyone else will process to a different trumpet fanfare I haven't decided yet.
