I think well do something like plant a tree or whatever n have officiant say like...

Kirst and B will now take part in a tree planting ceremony, to symbolize the roots of their relationship, and the continued growth of their love, as they become each other’s family today.

blah blah love & growing type of thing...

    then we plant the seed

Let your relationship and your love for each other be like this tree you plant today. Let it grow tall and strong. Let it stand tall during the harsh winds and rains and storms, and come through unscathed. Like a tree, your marriage must be resilient. It must weather the challenges of daily life and the passage of time. And just like the tree you are planting, marriage requires constant nurturing and nourishment.

then we water it & officant says something like remember to nourish each other with love trust etc...so our marriage can grow like this tree...

We're doing a tree planting ceremony. We don't have any wording picked out yet but basically we are going to have a small tree (like, a foot tall or less), a large pot, a couple of cups of soil and a watering pail on a small table. When it comes time, our parents will set up the table, we'll move the tree from it's small pot to the larger one, each toss in a scoop of soil and then water it. It should take all of 2 minutes and all we have to do is keep it alive. We thought having an already living tree would be better symbolism that guests would understand what the heck is going on. We figured if we planted seeds people might be confused/couldn't see and with our luck, they wouldn't even grow.

Never heard of this but its a very cute idea. Well, date twin I share in the "I'm starting to stress" part. Holy Cow there's just minor details but minor details that are totally freaking me out. I can believe next week we'll be in the less than a month countdown. Yikes! Good luck!

Here are some pics of what we're envisioning.

I googled and found something like this: Bride & Groom will now plant a tree signifying the joining of their

lives together, the commitment that they have made to one another and

the strength and nurturing each will provide to the relationship as

    they grow and mature together.

There is a lot out there to choose from. Good luck.

I recently officiated a wedding where they combined 2 bottles of water into 1 and then watered a potted orchid.

I've also done it with a small tree (to be transplanted into their yard) and with flower seeds.

What seeds depends on what you are planning to do with it after. If you have a house, especially where you are planning to stay for a long time, a tree works to be transplanted into your yard. I had a friend who did it with a rose bush. She loves roses and had always grown up with them, so she knew how to care. they got a small rose bush, planted it in a pot for the ceremony, and then, since they were hosting the post-nuptual brunch at their house, they transplanted it into their garden after the brunch. They liked the idea of a rose bush instead of a tree, because if they moved, they could always transplant it much easier than they would a tree.
