Who else is getting married in 2+ years? How much planning have you actually done so far? I’m getting married on December 31, 2020 and I feel so lost with planning (or even getting all of my ideas straight) since my wedding is so far away. Anyone else feeling this way?

Oct 2020. We are actually preplanners and are kind of obsessed with planning in advance however, I do not know the first thing that comes to weddings so I have been doing a lot of research and talking to a lot of women on here which is very helpful.

We are planning for February 2020. We have started talking with the venue. We know our colors, themes, and general idea. I also have dress, decor, and ceremony ideas. I also have a budget, guest list, required paperwork, and note lists. I am very organized and into planning though so even just getting ideas is reasonable for right now. I also think that other than venue we're not truly going to plan a ton until 1 year out.
I've been going with early is never to early! My plan is October 31, 2020 and I have an idea of where we might have it bridal party all picked out guest list made and an estimate on how many people will be there! All exciting things 😁 still moving slow but don't want to push things back by thinking I have so much time.
May 23 2020. Venue/Reception, Cake, DJ, Catering, photographer and Wedding Party is all done. Still need to finalize colors and clear them with my man. But things are coming along.
My wedding is April 25, 2020! I just bought my dress this week but haven’t really planned anything else yet. I plan on doing a lot of the planning this summer!
My wedding is June 2020. I already asked chose my bridesmaids and maid of honor. I’ve been looking at dresses and searching venues online. My sister is already a big help looking at venues while I’m at work. I feel like I’m planning far in advance, but I still go to university and work and won’t have much planning time during the school year.

It's been surprisingly good we picked a venue (saves a lot of money because you get the rates for 2019 instead of 2020 for booking early) have our colors picked. Our do food and bar cone with our venue ( total of $7,500 for the bar, set up, clean up, dj, buffet, and hall rental for 200 people) and we gave planed to do a costume part reception... everything's coming together pretty good! How much planning do you have done so far? I'm just in the mind set that it's sooner than it seems!!

That is great pricing! WOW. I remember googling how much weddings usually cost and it the highest range on there was like $32k. BOY! Youre wedding sounds like it is going to be sooo exciting.. I have started lots of planning. Put money down on a venue for 10/10/2020 spoke with the priest about next steps. We have some colors picked out too(we really want gold in our wedding) lol I have looked around at dresses but not that much in depth. I also have some sample save the dates and invites coming my way!
January 30th 2020. That's our ten year anniversary, and we just got engaged last weekend! I'm planning a destination wedding. Possibly a reception at home, unsure of that yet! But I do know most of my wedding party, colors, budget, guest list for dw, and photographer so far.
I'm March 2020 because we need time to save up. As much as I would love to get married next year I would rather have the wedding we both want and have to wait a bit. That being said, I'm planning everything as early as possible to relieve stress when it gets closer.
I've already picked colors, and begun touring venues and talking with vendors.

Hi Janessa,
My sister wants to do a destination wedding. What are your ideas?
We booked this year and locked in at 2018 pricing! The best part? When I went on their website (I was looking for their menu so I could print it off so FH and I can start looking at food options), I noticed their rental prices for our reception went up $100! So we already saved that money!
We felt the same way. I wanted summer of next year so we could do an outdoor wedding, but after looking at the cost of everything, FH and I decided our 6 year anniversary (which is March 21, 2020) would be better and allow us to save up some money so we could both have the wedding of our dreams! Plus I'll get to wear a 3/4 or long sleeve dress which will look stunning and if there's snow on the ground, it'll make for some pretty photos!
Ours is planned for April 4, 2020 (my parents and my grandparents anniversary, date is special) I thought we had forever to plan but time is moving quickly... We have our venue picked and will put our deposit down after summer and I'm trying to find bridal shows but finding a tough time w any near me :-/
