Who else is getting married in 2+ years? How much planning have you actually done so far? I’m getting married on December 31, 2020 and I feel so lost with planning (or even getting all of my ideas straight) since my wedding is so far away. Anyone else feeling this way?

FH and I are planning June 2020. We've already started looking at venues as most can fill up quickly plus we can establish a decent budget as well. I'm already in contact with DJ's and Photographers to talk about their packages. We really have no help so we're trying to get as much done as we can do we aren't scrambling.

The big day is October 10, 2020. We just booked the venue last month which is exciting. We also have our wedding bands which are so lovely. The woman the made my engagement ring made our bands. Now if we could get our theme together. I have so many ideas.

Yes my wedding is 3-28-2020. I've been figuring out small things like what colors and who I want in our parties. But I've been at a lost because I want to throw myself into it all but I want to get everything together so bad lol

Once you have a date decided it’ll never be too early to book. I feel like most places will allow you to book 2 years out. I’m getting married in July of 2020 and I booked my venue two weeks ago. It’s actually better to book earlier because you'll most likely get your first choice of venues. Not many people will have booked yet. You could start contacting venues now if you wanted to. Or if you haven’t decided what you wanted you could wait until the summer and then start reaching out. Good luck 😊

We're getting married March of 2020 and have booked our ceremony and reception venue, DJ, officiant, and photographer. Don't feel pressured to get as much done as I have though, it was by luck that everything just kind of fell into place in terms of vendors!

We think we know who we want to do our cake, but are not 100% decided quite yet!

I would say that if you're getting married in December of 2020 I would start looking at venues. If you find one you fall in love with, then I would say book it - but make sure you understand their cancellation fees! We knew we wanted the venue we booked because when we walked in we had the "I can see it now" moment. Our reception venue we really had no choice in since there is really nothing else in the area - but it's still stunning!

I wouldn't feel pressured to book a venue until end of this year/early next year. Even then you could still wait until mid next year - depends on if the venues you are looking at are a "hot" item and go quickly!

If you ever have any questions, feel free to message me! I know how it feels to feel lost in all the planning and not know exactly what you want or have your vision all scrambled up in your head! It'll come together eventually! My suggestion would be to Pinterest all day every day! I'm going to be making vision boards soon so that FH and I can put our top picks for decor and placement of everything on one board and have it all in front of us so we know what we want to do!

I am getting married in 2019 but had a 2.5 yr engagement. We planned a lot of the big vendors( venue, photo, video, DJ) in the beginning and having the extra time allowed us to really hand pick our team and make sure it is exsactly what we wanted. Now that we are some what closer we are working on the details. I'm going to start dress shopping soon. I don't know how some people do it in a year or less lol props to them.

I’m getting married on February 2020 and so far yesterday we went to view the first venue (which I liked but I also made other appointments to check out other venues). No clue yet about colors , I might do burgundy since it’s in February (winter season) but not 100% sure yet ! Tons to do but little by little... this app helps out though!

    Hi!
I am also getting married February 2020. We have looked at many venues and are about to pick one. We have our photographer and DJ in mind but have not paid the deposit yet. I’m going for a rustic look so if you guys have any ideas, tell me lol. As for wedding dresses, I am not going to try them on until the end of this year. Since the wedding is 1 year and a half away, my body can change and I don’t want to go through that mission lol.

We are booked for 4/24/2020. We booked the venue already because the venues here in NJ book quick and they already had 2020's. You also get the 2018 price when you book early. We also did our photographer! We will do the DJ next then the bridal party. Trying to do everything slowly so that we can budget accordingly. It's nice to not have to pay everything all at once.

Our wedding date (September 2019) is 3+ years from when we got engaged (July 2016) so I can completely understand how you are feeling. My FH is in the Air Force so he was actually gone until the end of 2016 so we couldn't discuss much of any wedding plans. We chose my venue two years out to our wedding date! From there came our bartender and wedding planning before the end of 2017 before he left again for military. Everything else has slowly come together over the last six months with our date 1+ year out.

During the beginning of our engagement I did a lot of Pinterest planning. Of course I had a lot already saved from over the years but I started to go through my pins and delete the ones I didn't actually like now that I was narrowing down our ideas. Remember that with your wedding 2+ years out, the styles and what's in can change a lot. Also, your vision of your wedding day can change. Give yourself a few options for colors.

I would start researching some venues in your area. Make a list of your favorites in order! This will give you an idea of which ones to look at first when you start visiting. It will be hard to send emails to ask for pricing but that didn't stop me! I thought this actually helped because, generally pricing will increase for venues, so I had an idea of their current price would fit our budget or not.

Decide on your budget. This is extremely important! We started discussing our budget immediately after our engagement. This will help you plan everything from the big vendors to the small details.

Ask friends who are engaged or married in your local area for their favorite venues and vendors. It is always good to hear of good reviews from people you actually know!

Our wedding date is 2/20/20, and we just started looking at venues. We were offered a great deal if we book by the end of June and from the looks of things here, we just may do that. I didn't realize how many people book this far in advance! I want to start booking other venues close to the date maybe 6-12 months before.

Our date is 6/27/2020. We're not officially engaged yet that will be happening this October. We have our guest list planned out roughly and we have decided on our venue which we are in the process of booking. Our theme is rustic country/old country due to the place having a old west town. We know our bridal party and our wedding colors. We have our photographer booked. I feel much better about having these things done because it's easier on my stress levels and budget.
