Who else is getting married in 2+ years? How much planning have you actually done so far? I’m getting married on December 31, 2020 and I feel so lost with planning (or even getting all of my ideas straight) since my wedding is so far away. Anyone else feeling this way?

he proposed on 7/03. The only solid planning we have right now is our venue is booked already. (which we did before he proposed). We are both excited to start planning but We know some things would be too early to start, but I would love to get some things handled before hand if possible. What are your ideas?
Im in a bit of a different boat - we are already married, but opted to do a townhall ceremony 3 years ago. Now we are in a different place financially and also realizing that we want to have a celebration of our union, we are doing a vow renewal/wedding for our 5th anniversary - which is in 2 years.
I really dont know how much you can do at this point except for pricing out venues and vendors - and deciding what you want and what you can afford. We won't have a bridal party or a registry but i think you could start thinking of what you'd like on your registry !!!! And maybe start designing your engagement photoshoot and announcement and/or save the dates??? A little early for that but you could do the engagement announcement i guess if you haven't done that already?
I was a little worried signing up here so early on but i see a lot of posts from people marrying 2 years from now and more. Weddings are so expensive I think its not the worst of ideas to allow yourself to prepare financially so that you dont enter a marriage with thousands of dollars of debt to pay off for one night of your life.
I'm getting married in October of 2020, and I feel the same way. I'm trying to start planning and getting all the ducks in a row, but everything just feels scattered and disorganized right now. We have a rough guest list, we know the wedding party we want (whether or not they'll agree is the thing here), and a decent idea of what we want, but it's just like... I don't know, there's a stress to it even though it's so far out, and I can't figure out why. I've got a notebook for stuff we like and ideas we both have, and I bought a book about planning a wedding that tells me all the things, but it's just this overwhelming feeling.
But at the same time everything we have bought and all that just seems like we are not getting anywhere and it feels like a big mess but I guess that is how it goes just feels like we have a lot but yet we dont
I’m getting married September 19th 2020 and I have only booked the venue because they were booking up fast and I knew it was the place I HAD to get married in. We have talked a little bit about colors and food but not too much. We made a first draft of our wedding list. Most venders won’t even give you prices since it’s 2 years out. I recommend planning as much as you can. Find the venue, find the DJ etc. then when they are booking for 2020 you can be the first on the first so you can make sure they are available for your date.
I didn’t know about this thread until just now!! Hi 2020 brides 😄 I am getting married April 26th, 2020 (Sunday wedding). We got engaged in April of this year and booked our venue in early June. We have our color and I picked my bridesmaids already. I have selected a DJ but haven’t booked him just yet. This month FH and I will be doing a tasting with one of the venues preferred caterers, and we have a meeting with a photographer. I decided to go with artificial flowers and found a rental website for those that I’ll be using. I go to try on dresses in August and I am so excited to be marrying the man of my dreams 👰🏻
I picked a venue, and now I'm working on invitations. There are so many options so I've ordered samples from about 15 companies and I'm hoping to choose very soon. I wanted to get that done because I'd like to have all our stationary be the same style, and our engagement party is coming up! I'm really enjoying the process and the luxury of time. I'll be going to my first bridal show in Philly tomorrow and I cannot wait!
I’m aiming for June 20, 2020 I recently got engaged and I have my bridal party, a DJ, photographer, the color and theme, and the wedding bands all picked out. However I still have a long road ahead.
Our wedding is in August of 2020 and I started with a notebook and a binder. I just started writing things down that I saw at other weddings, on tv, or from Pinterest. I actually have purchased from small decorations because they fit in with the things that I have written down and because the opportunity presented itself (thanks ACMoore clearance!!). But don't feel bad if you're stuck! I honestly think just relaxing and perusing Pinterest or watching a wedding show on TLC usually puts me in a planning mood.
I am getting married February 20, 2020 and on top of everything for the planning , already got my dress just got to alter it same with maid of honor and bridesmaid dresses and already have venue but can't book til February of 2019 for that year
