I was happy to see the sweetheart table on the list. Every time there is a post about sweetheart vs head table, I feel like the ONLY person doing a head table with my bridal party. I would feel so weird sitting up there, just the 2 of us, in front of everybody!

ETA: There is a sweetheart vs head table post now and again, only one doing a head table lol

    Crocs? At a wedding?

When the fuck was that even a thing? LMAO.

And then it said "save them for the honeymoon!"

    Uhm, no thanks.

So sad to find out that wearing crocs with formal wear is tacky. Sigh.

I personally like the idea of a sweetheart table and will be having one. This is the first time I ever heard someone opposing one.

I agree with @stuckonyou I prefer the sweetheart over head table simply because our bridal party have their wives, husbands, girlfriends etc... and im sure they would prefer to sit with their dates than the bride and groom.

Head tables get ridiculous if you have a WP with more than 3 or 4 on each side once you also include their date/SO. I've never been to a wedding and stared at the head/sweetheart table. Author seems a bit creepy

@StuckOnYou // @AD the sweetheart table and having your father give you away are probably the only 2 on the list I didn't really think belonged there. I personally don't think I'd do a sweetheart table but I am definitely having my father walk me down the aisle!

Catlady I don't like the cake smash because I would have to ruin my makeup to get the frosting off my face. And there's a chance it'll get on my dress. No thank you!

@catlady5x - I feel like the cleanup would be annoying after. Like, I paid hundreds of dollars for my hair and make up, and now I have to go wash my face because there is cake all over it?!?! But I wouldn't say it's "embarrassing." If you do it, do it towards the very end of the reception so you don't loose quality photography time with your make up.

Wow sweetheart tables isn't a good thing? I chose it because I hated when babe was in the wedding and I was sitting by myself from ceremony until dance floor opened (almost the whole wedding). I wouldn't want to put the significant others of those in the wedding crew in that same situation.

@CatLady I wouldn't find it embarrassing.. I just don't want to go wash off the makeup I spent hundreds of dollars on to get sticky cake off my face

The only thing i disagree with is the sweetheart table. Head tables almost always remind me of 80s wedding movies..and I went to one wedding where the bride and groom sat at a normal table with guests and no one knew where they went when it was time for speeches/dances or if people just wanted to congratulate them!

While I agree with most of this list the sweetheart table really annoyed me. There are many reasons why people choose a sweetheart table! Large bridal parties, wanting BP to sit with their guests, having large modern families, etc. We have 10 parents between the two of us and all of our BP members had SOs in attendance some of whom didn't know anybody else besides their SO and us. Sometimes a sweetheart table is practical. That being said, there's nothing wrong with a head table if that's what you prefer. There's nothing WRONG with either.
