Let's bid a fond farewell to: cake face smash, garter toss, boring, sloppy, gooey speeches, chocolate fountains, cash bars, drunk undulating guests, plastic anything and of course mismatched bridesmaids dresses.

I saw this article yesterday and thought about posting it! I disagree with the sweetheart table one too, for reasons PPs have already listed.

My father is walking me down the aisle. I'm at liberal as they come, and I get that its past is rooted in misogyny...but I have three older brothers, I'm the only girl, and the man has waited for this his entire life. I see it as an evolved tradition to make one's own.

The pic with the bridesmaid lifting up their dresses is gross. I am surprised the photographer would do anything like that.

My dad is giving me away. And we will probably have a sweet heart table. I give no fucks what this article says, it's a matter of opinion! However, the cash bar and asking for money is etiquette soooo don't do those things.

"cake smash"...how did that even become a thing?? it's tacky, yucky and dumb in my opinion.

"ultra revealing wedding dress"...I'm 28 but old fashioned when it comes to this....to me, the brides whole back being out or the dress being so tight that everyone watching could have very possibly seen her panty line if there were no beading is very tacky. My body is meant to be adored by my FH, not everyone watching. This is my opinion and while i think every woman ive seen with these types of dresses has an outstanding body, it leaves very little to the imagination for your husband.

"Phones at the alter"..i've never heard of this in my life...and it's the most ridiculous thing i've seen on the internet. who does that? if someone is on social media that needed to know so badly the moment you were married, they shouldve spend the money and time to make it to the actual ceremony. I don't even like social media (facebook, instagram, twitter) , so i for sure woudn't post anything at the alter on my wedding date. so rude in my opinion.

I actually agree with the sweetheart table. I have never been to a wedding where there was a sweetheart table since it's just not common in my area and the head table is actually expected. I'm going the head table route and it will work for us since some of my bridal party members are married.

Agreed with PP's about the sweetheart table, I'll be doing one. because it's so awkward being a plus one at a wedding your significant other is in, and having to sit with strangers since he's sitting with the wedding party. Lol or just people you don't associate with often.

Happened to me when I first started dating my fiancé!
