Cassie Sent on 04/16/2016I booked my photography through a 3rd party site, and when I first booked, Sarah didn't even show up as an option. The first photographer they gave me was horribly unprofessional, and when I called the company, they told me that they had the perfect photographer for me, and they were right! I researched her right away, and loved the artistic style she has. On the day of the wedding, I trusted her style and was not disappointed. I have so many beautiful pictures. The biggest surprise with them, though, is how Sarah managed to take so many pictures without being noticed by myself or our guests. She got so many amazing candid shots, and I can't believe we didn't see her there taking them. After my experience with the first photographer, I almost cancelled with the company, and after working with Sarah, I'm glad I didn't. She did an absolutely wonderful job. -
User1761365 Sent on 08/12/2014Sarah Ashley photography is awesome. i had a wedding on July 22nd in near by Portsmouth Virgina and she was able to come up from Chesapeake to do the wedding shoot which me and the hubby pick the biggest photography package she offered which was 10 hours for 2400$. shes very professional and knows what shes doing. unlike some photographers we inquired which seemed they were only in for it for the money. shes really into to what she does and it shows up in her work. of which me and the hubby are very much pleased with. if your in the Virginia area and looking to plan a wedding and need a photography Sarah Ashley is most definitely who you should have as your number one -
User1639819 Sent on 05/31/2014Since we were on a budget, we only wanted pictures taken during the actual ceremony as well as family pictures after. We were excited to find Sarah Ashley Photography and the affordable one-hour option she has. It turned out our preacher wouldn't allow photographs during the ceremony! Sarah was very flexible and helped us reenact everything afterwards for photos. I wish she had provided us a little more direction, like how to stand for the best pictures. There are a few pictures I know would have come out better, if people had been just slightly moved or rearranged so you can see everyone's face in the wedding party. There were only two photos taken of me being walked down the aisle (we didn't reenact that part, so the two pictures are authentic)- in one of them, I'm blinking. On the flip side, there were some pictures of the wedding party taken outside which came out amazingly, including pictures of us standing in the snow. We also had some miscellaneous family members and friends come up and want additional pictures taken with us, and Sarah was flexible with staying a few extra minutes to get everything done. She had our online album available for us to view really quickly. I have already recommended this photographer to someone. -
User1155440 Sent on 05/07/2013Sarah Ashley had an amazing end result to the photos taken at the wedding. She literally captured every important moment. Unfortunately, her staff don't seem to hold to the same work ethics she has. There was a tiff between one of the photographers and my father. The photographer was parked where the wedding transport was supposed to drop my husband and me off. He refused to move the vehicle until Sarah backed up the request. Another photographer did not have her vehicle decals up to date and was unable to get on base with their vehicle. Due to this mishap, my husband did not have his preparations photographed. I do not think that these issues should not reflect on Sarah Ashley Photography as a whole. I believe that Sarah handled these instances professionally and has insured that they won't be repeated. She does require some direction, but I see that as a plus. Some photographers are too set in their ideals to be open to instruction from the bride and groom. I was very pleased with the quality of the work and the speed with which I received the end result. I would recommend Sarah Ashley again, with a proviso that the bride should be open minded, know what she wants, and isn't a overly anxious person.Sarah Ashley Photography's reply:
Hello Sarah. Thank you for your review. I have spoke with the person that you are referring to with the parking spot incident. There was no argument or disagreement and he had told your dad congratulations when he realized who he was. The car was moved as soon as possible since they were still moving equipment for the photo booth inside without any disagreements. A solution to this for future brides: If you wish to reserve a parking spot for your get away vehicle have a reserved sign designed. Our partner printer can design and print this for you. As soon as we arrived at the church both of the girls and the guys were still getting ready for the ceremony and the pinning of the boutonniere, some candid photos, and a photo of the groom with his best man were captured. These are the same images that she would have captured if she was able to get in earlier. As you said you received all of the images of your entire wedding day at great quality and no one had acted out in a unprofessional manor.
