  Farm-to-Table, Inventive, Professional Service, Delicious

  We worked with Meredith of Sage catering for our wedding in July 2022. From start to finish, everything was smooth sailing.
  
  I chose Sage because their style of food resonated: creative, local, farm-to-table, vegetable leaning, and emphasis on in-season produce. Their suggested menus on their website caught my eye. While the photos are limited online and their social media, I liked speaking with Meredith on the phone; she reassured me that she understood my vision.
  
  Meredith was always fast to respond and very thoughtful and detailed with her correspondence. When I went back and forth on what I wanted (I'm annoyingly indecisive), Meredith was so accommodating and professional, she never made me feel like I was making her job difficult.
  
  The tasting was very comprehensive and an enjoyable afternoon. While I wasn't 100% on the taste of the dishes, I was more than pleased when it came to the wedding day. We chose dishes that used summer produce and you really have to eat them in-season to be at their best. As our tasting was in Fall/Winter, the flavor wasn't there..but, trust! Sage is meticulous about which suppliers they work with and engage local producers (such as bakeries and creameries) where possible.
  
  On the wedding day, people RAVED about the food. The heirloom tomatoes we tasted in July were 10x better than in Fall. Weeks after the wedding, guests still mentioned how it was "the best wedding food they ever ate". I was so happy to hear this!
  
  Their staff was also really great: a nice balance of professional and attentive yet relaxed and not stuffy.
  
  One tip: we opted for family style and this is the best format if you want a more relaxed feel and it makes the meal more interactive. Plus, the quality is better than plated because it's easier for a kitchen to serve large sharing platters vs. 100 individual dishes.
  
  Would 100% recommend Sage for your wedding :)

  Sage Catering was the best choice for food for our wedding. Yum!!! Scot was so friendly and professional and made our food tasting such a great experience. We knew we were in good hands right away. The food was to die for. The only constructive criticism would be that the fish was too dry to eat and we had a sheet of cake left in the fridge at the venue without knowing. I think the head caterer should have informed us of that instead of the venue a few days later after finding it. Also, we asked that the delicious pot de cremes were served sooner than they actually were. But they were wroth the wait! The servers were all very friendly and helpful and made sure we had everything we needed or wanted. We would recommend Sage for sure.

  Sage Catering was hands down one of the best decisions I made for my wedding. Our guests were absolutely blown away by the quality of food and have continued raving about it for months after the wedding. They designed a beautiful menu for us and incorporated some of our favorite ethnic foods and everything came together perfectly.

They were staffed with a small army of professionals, they executed truly a well choreographed evening. I deeply appreciate your contribution to our wedding, with your help and expertise we managed to pull off the event of the year!

  Meredith and Sage were wonderful to work with as caterers for our wedding. They were referred to us by our wedding venue as a preferred vendor, which made planning much smoother. My now husband's main priority was the food and the booze, so he worked closely with Meredith to ensure the menu was to our expectations. My husband had several phone calls with Meredith to brainstorm and confirm ideas and services. Our tasting was excellent and it was clear that Meredith had taken my husband's notes to heart in crafting the menu details. My husband had a number of tasting notes and revision requests which were expertly accommodated. Both the Chef and the Owner came into our tasting meeting to say hello and discuss the menu and services. We felt acknowledged and respected and that they truly wanted to create the wedding menu of our dreams while maintaining our budget. Day of service was outstanding. Our guests continue to compliment us that it was the best food they'd ever had at a wedding and how courteous and attentive the staff were during the event. We had passed appetizers and plated meals and no one felt left out or that they had to wait too long. Everyone was happy, especially the bride and groom! I would not hesitate to recommend their services to anyone needing a caterer!

  We chose Sage Catering for our August wedding at Vine Hill House and were SO happy with how it turned out! If you are looking for outstanding service & extremely high quality food, then you must go with Sage for your event.
  
  My husbands one request throughout the entire wedding planning process was that we have amazing food at our wedding. He loves to cook and we both love to enjoy great food so we definitely wanted something above the average wedding meal. Sage delivered in all aspects and we could not have been happier.
  
  We worked with Scot throughout the planning process and Brooke as our day of captain. They were both extremely responsive & helpful throughout, even when I decided to change up the appetizers at the last minute! Luckily we got to enjoy our appetizers and a few bites of dinner, which consisted of my favorite heirloom tomato & burrata cheese combo and dinner of filet (or seabass or ricotta ravioli - it was ALL SO GOOD). We also opted to have them provide apple crisps for dessert, which we unfortunately did not get to try. They also took care of all our rentals, linens, bar setup, service, & provided valuable insight into details I didn't even think about.
  
  Far and away, the food was outstanding. We still have friends commenting on how good the food was at the wedding & asking who our caterers were. That was what we wanted and they most definitely delivered.
  
  My only tiny complaint - we really wanted meals boxed up for us because we knew we wouldn't get a chance to eat and unfortunately that didn't happen. We are just a little bummed because we know how amazing the food was :)

  I am STILL getting phone calls and emails about how wonderful the food was at my wedding!!! Sage fine food and catering knows what they are doing and Spring is so sweet! I loved working with her. Everything was so delicious!! I sometimes still dream of the gnocchi!! The staff also were a delight to be around!!!! I wish I could give them 10 stars!

  We used Sage for our wedding reception at the Outdoor Art Club in Mill Valley. We were thrilled with the service and food they provided.
  
  From our first meeting with Scott, it was clear that we were getting a higher level of attention and service than we had gotten from the other caterers we met with. Scott solicited my ideas about menu planning on the phone before our first meeting, and created a menu with our favorite foods and flavors in mind. When we went to the tasting, we got to eat enormous portions of every single item on our proposed menu. The food was delicious. I'm a bit of a foodie, so I did have a few ideas about additions/tweaks to the menu. Scott was very attentive, and incorporated all of my changes into a revised menu. We were sold and decided to book Sage for our wedding.
  
  We worked with Scott and Spring in the planning stages. They were both prompt, professional, and responsive. They answered emails promptly, met me on site to do a walk-through of the venue, and ordered space heaters last minute when the wedding weekend was colder than expected. They also agreed to make and serve a signature cocktail from a recipe that a friend of mine created.
  
  At the wedding, the food and service were phenomenal. We got many compliments on the food, from fellow Bay-area foodie friends who are hard to impress. Having good food was very important to me, and I was so glad that we made the decision to hire Sage. If you can hire them, do!

  Sadly I did not get to enjoy the cocktail hour appetizers as I was cuaght up in photos but my guests all gave great reviews on the food. The thai chicken skewers in particular were great and the dinner food was served beautifully and tasted just as great. They were very accomodating to my guests with special diets and made the made the whole experience at Viansa great!

  Sage catering is a partner with Viansa Winery, so we were unsure of how it would work out. But we are happy to say they were AMAZING!! Our guests are still talking about how delicious the appetizers were and we did a duet plate with 2 entrees (seabass and chicken) and were cooked perfectly. Even for a group of almost 200, each dish was cooked to perfection and I didn't hear one complaint. They also set up a private tasting through Viansa ahead of time, where we got to invite 4 people, which was very nice for us so we could taste the food along with our parents. It was a nice way to sample their options and have some fun with it. I would definitely use them again for another catering event!

  We had the best food at our wedding!!! Sage far exceeded our expectations!! Everyone we talked to after the wedding said that our dinner was by far the best meal they have ever had at a wedding... And several of them even said they would order it at a restaurant. And the appetizers were great too! I would highly recommend Sage Catering to anyone.

  Sage Catering is amazing! The food was delicious and they were very flexible on the menu. Everyone at my wedding raved about the food. The appetizers were delicious. I would recommend the mushroom and beef crostinis but the ahi tuna is the BEST! For dinner we had sea bass and filet mignon and it was great! The sea bass was cooked to perfection. For dessert we added to mini ice cream cones to pair with cupcakes and they were a unique and fun element to the meal. Two thumbs up!

  Do you want your guests to tell you this is the best wedding food they ever had? Yes. You do. Wedding guests care about the booze and the food. Don't fall short on either!
  
  We initially selected Sage by process of elimination. Our venue, Cornerstone Sonoma, only permitted 3 vendors. Park Avenue, Ramekins and Sage. We first went to the tasting at Park becauase it was free. The taste was lacking and so was the customer service. The guy even argued with me. Ramekins had much more spectaular customer service, but we were not overly impressed with the cuisine. Then, we put our money out and went with Sage, and goodness are we glad we did.
  
  The customer service is top notch. Oceanna is truly spectacular and has a thorough understanding of your needs to make you feel at ease. She really understands the venue Cornerstone and what quantities to make your guests' experience the best.
  
  Also her staff, just great. Full of smiles, responsiveness, and they cleanup everything on the spot, so don't leave your drink unattended too long. Sage was the perfect catering company for me and my guests couldn't have been more pleased.

  Sage catered our wedding at Cornerstone. Mari was our main point of contact leading up to it, and she was super helpful and responsive. We chose Sage in the beginning primarily because their food was so great at the tasting (we did multiple tastings). They also got our vision and put together a fantastic menu - we didn't want the standard salad and beef/chicken like at every wedding - so we had three medium-sized courses, using fresh, local ingredients. We are incredibly picky and we barely changed the menu from what Sage suggested up front. On the day of the wedding, the service was outstanding, as was the food. Many guests commented on how good it was (and took pictures of it). The staff put out a plate of appetizers, waters and champagne for us and our witnesses to have right after the ceremony, and often checked with us to make sure we had everything we needed throughout the night. When our parents wanted to move their toasts earlier during dinner, the kitchen adjusted on the spot. Sage also coordinated the rentals, and was flexible in changing and confirming our order several times in the months leading up to the wedding. We would absolutely use them again and recommend them.

  Sage is the captive caterer for Viansa Winery. At first, we were worried that we wouldn't like their food, but everything for the wedding turned out delicious. Not everything on their menu is equally tasty, so make sure you do your homework. I recommend the crab cakes, the shrimp skewers, the filet of beef, the butternut squash ravioli, and the halibut. Those were all excellent. Their presentation was also good. I wouldn't say they are a great value, their prices are average for the wine country. But at least the food was delicious!!

  Sage was a wonderful company to work with. Spring was great. Very personable. And the food was amazing. My only complaint was that the bar opened so many bottles of wine, that we had many partial bottles left at the end of the night. But, that is a small thing in the scope of things. I would definitely recommend Sage.
