I met Jon when he was suggested as a photographer for my sister's wedding in 2012. I was her maid of honor so I was present during most of her planning and got to meet Jon and Lori on a number of occasions. Jon has such a great sense of humor and makes you feel like you have known him forever.

Jon and Lori always responded quickly and helpfully to our correspondence and helped us choose the right options in the Wedding Package, and also offered upgrades when needed.

Through seeing this and other great things about him in my sister's planning, I could not imagine hiring anyone else when I got engaged last year. He knows exactly the right shots to take and what looks best. He captures your personalities while making the pictures look elegant and flawless. He knows how to get everyone ready and pumped to take family and group shots and takes as many pictures as it takes! He made it easy to enjoy what mattered on my wedding day and I never once had to worry about what he was doing. He is a very professional photographer and does not get in the way of the celebration. I recommend him to any and all brides who are looking for the best wedding photographer.

Jon and Lori were easy to work with from the beginning. We only had a month before the wedding, but Jon was willing to work with our busy schedules to get our engagement pictures done. The only day that we had available, the rain was pouring, and we still wanted to have the photo shoot. Jon was more than happy to take pictures in the rain. It was an adventure and experience we will never forget. The pictures turned out amazing! We were very impressed with the quality of his work. During the wedding, he was there before we even arrived. He definitely knows what he is doing. He knows how to handle large groups and also very good with the kids. When it came time for the dancing, Jon was actually on the floor taking pictures at all different angles. We are so happy that we chose him to be our wedding photographer!!

Loved working with Jon and his wife Lori. Bottom line--professional, excellent eye, doesn't bail early on events, enthusiastic, fun and easy to work with, honest and hardworking. Gives you the pictures you know your kids and grandkids will stare at and adore. Photos make or break the wedding because as your memory fades, they will be the documentation of the day, and you need beautiful photos. My sister used them for her wedding in 2013 and her photos were stunning so I knew I wanted to book Jon I would highly recommend working with Jon because Lori does an excellent job leading up to the photo shoots in scheduling, contracting, etc. (and they take credit cards, bonus). Jon scoped out our venues in advance at the same time the session would be to get lighting and position ideas. During the shoot, he took TONS of pictures, paid great attention to detail and made us feel relaxed. He showed us digital images to help us understand what we were looking like. After the wedding, he did an excellent job of hitting all the obligatory family shots quickly and effectively--making sure the kids were looking in the right direction and smiling. Great stage presence. During the reception he was always there, aware of what was next on the agenda and helping us stage the event. It felt a little awkward to have someone explain things at first, like "look at me when you toss the bouquet" but when I saw the shots later, I totally understood why. I trust Jon and Lori to provide excellent service and an excellent product when it matters more than any other day of your life.

******A++ My wife and I live in New England and were recently married in Utah. The planning process from across the country was at times difficult however we can say that from the first time we spoke with Jon we were confident that he was going to come through for us. Just from a simple phone call we could tell that Jon was energetic, knowledgeable and passionate about his work.
We made a trip out to Utah a few months back just to ensure that everything was in order and also to fit in time for engagement photos; this is when we knew we made the right decision. Upon introductions Jon made us feel very at ease as he assured us that it would be stress free. I can honestly say that it being my wife and I's first photo shoot we weren't too excited about the whole process. Jon's sense of humor and excitement for photography made for a laid back experience for both of us. We received the engagement photos several weeks prior to our big day and couldn't have been more impressed!!
I just got back to work and all of my friends were hoping to see pictures however I saw no point using my phone when Jon was there to capture every moment of our night. The bridesmaids and groomsmen are pretty R rated folks and Jon embraced them with laughter which was also a plus. I realize writing an excessively long review may get overlooked but if you take anything from this understand that JON WILL NOT DISAPPOINT ..............

Jon has been a long-time friend of mine I knew him even before he became a photographer and before he met his lovely wife Lori. I had seen some of his work and at first planned on having him take some shots for a talent agency I had begun to explore, but that never worked out due to my crazy schedule.

When I met my best friend, now husband and could see that a wedding would be in the works, I was nervous about pictures there were so many options and I wanted someone who would help everyone feel relaxed and help to feel beautiful inside and out. Jon was an obvious choice. He provided our engagements, formal session and our wedding day pics. We had our engagements done in a lovely secret garden area not far from the home I was renting. The have large events and galas there all of the time and the owner deals with many photographers. To thank them for letting us use their garden for our photos, I gave her a copy of our announcement and she said it was the most beautiful wedding announcement she had ever seen. Then she asked if she could have the number of my photographer because she had never seen her garden look so lovely.

Jon took all the time needed when we took our engagements, formal shots and wedding day photos. He and Lori even lent us classic old books to have on our tables as centerpieces and directed us to a wonderful cake designer, who made us a lovely 2 tiered cake as well as a grooms cake of my husbands favorite vacation destination with his family.

On the day of our wedding Jon did a great job working with my nephews and the other children in my bridal party....they loved him. Lori created a beautiful, fun and unique bouquet for me and took care if the flowers for the rest of the party.

Jon is fantastic at what he does, he and Lori make an excellent team....you will love the unique approach he takes when creating your own individual masterpiece, you photos will stand out and you will wonder regarding the last time you felt so beautiful.

Adding to the five star reviews for Jon Woodbury Photography...

Jon's work is incredible and worth every penny. We hired Jon to do our wedding at Snowbasin, but first met him in Feb. 2014 to take engagement photos at the Ogden Train Station. My now husband and I are awkward models to say the least - we had NO idea how to pose and left with our fingers crossed that Jon had enough material for at least one cute photo. But honestly, we never should have worried! We were blown away by Jon's work, as were all of our family and friends. He made us look like natural-born models and every picture was print-worthy. His photo editing is fantastic which was the main reason why I hired him. The colors were vibrant and somehow the pictures were also reflective of our personalities. We ended up hiring Jon to photograph a pre-wedding event hosted at my parent's house, a traditional Indian party, because we trusted his documentary skills. We cannot wait to see the Indian party photos and our wedding day photos because we just know they'll be out-of-this-world-amazing!

Jon and Lori are very responsive and Lori runs a very well-organized business. In fact, I'd say that Jon's work benefits from Lori's business skills - he doesn't have to worry about a thing other than taking amazing photos because she manages the whole process so wonderfully. They were also adorable and sent cute little "gifts" through out the wedding process - stationary here, a gift card there, or just a sweet note to say they are glad we are working together! I would not hesitate to recommend Jon Woodbury Photography to anyone who needs a photographer.

Regardless of who you hire, I highly recommend meeting the photographer and doing at least one session before your wedding so that you can work together easily on the big day - you'll be running around like crazy and you'll add to the stress level if you're trying to get comfortable with your photographer. Or, hire Jon and Lori and forget your worries!

Jon and Lori Woodbury were the most friendly, professional and helpful people I contacted. They were prompt in responding to me, flexible in how we communicated, and gave me contacts for many more professional services required for a beautiful wedding. Jon answered all my questions and made me feel very at ease right from the start, and Lori, who also does floral services, gave me information for everything I could have ever imagined was needed. Any event I have in the future I will be calling Jon and Lori, and I will recommend them to all my friends. Five out of five!

Jon is an extremely talented photographer. His personality makes photos fun for everyone, and he will capture each important moment for you.
We initially considered Jon because we'd seen his pictures from a wedding at our ceremony site, and the richness of the colors was astounding. We were long distance, so Jon arranged a video chat. We met Jon and his wife Lori and knew they were the right team. Jon is a part time comedian and his warm demeanor made us laugh right away, and it was clear he knew what shots we wanted.
We did engagements, bridal/groomals, and our wedding day with him.
Lori handles most of the business side. She is EXCELLENT to work with because she truly listens and responds. Since we worked full time/were in a different time zone, it worked best for me to communicate via email. She answered every question I had right away- almost always within minutes!
Jon did a great job with our engagements. We did indoor and outdoor pics and he was so patient when we changed outfits too. He got fun shots, artistic shots, and the "mom"/traditional shots.
He was understanding when I was late to bridals due to bad traffic. We had fun with "first look" pictures. He provided positive feedback throughout the session.
He was flexible. The night before the big day, we asked him to arrive earlier so we could get pictures done before the ceremony. He was professional, dressing up on our wedding day, even though it was expected to be about a 12 hour day! He did an amazing job of gently directing my large family (8 siblings, 17 nieces/nephews) for pictures and joked with the kids to make them smile. He laid on the floor at points to get different perspectives! At the reception, he was out on the dance floor capture the fun.
He was the perfect photographer.
Note: the Woodburys also went above and beyond by providing other vendor recommendations when we needed them. We were fully satisfied with the work of these vendors too.

I cannot begin to describe how amazing Jon was at our wedding! First of all, he is the most personable & fun photographer I have ever met. He came to my hotel suite the morning of and took pictures while my bridesmaids and me started getting ready early on. It was so comfortable having a stranger in our room, because he was so funny, nice, and professional so he didn't even feel like a stranger. From the morning on, he just worked his heart out! Jon was running all over our venue during our ceremony taking amazing pictures. He was on the ground spinning around during our dance entrance with our party getting the most unique picture you can even imagine! I mean come on people, he was on the ground on his back spinning taking pictures looking up while the wedding line danced in a circle. He goes above and beyond being an amazing photographer! He stayed the whole night and took what I am sure will be amazing photos. At first I regretted not getting a videographer, but after I met Jon and saw the amazing amount of photos he took, I have no doubt we will have amazing memories from the photos to carry on. Jon is the best photographer you could ever ask for. He loves what he does and he exceeds in excellence in it. Not to be outdone, we also hired his wife Lori as our florist and it was the best decision! These two are professional, caring, and great at what they do. Lori was so flexible with me changing flower arrangements at last minute. I barely gave Lori any direction in what we wanted, and she delivered excellence. My flowers were beautiful and she got to our venue so early to make sure everything looked amazing, and delivered my bridesmaids flowers in our rooms before I even arrived. To make this longest review short, Jon & Lori both are absolutely amazing at what they do, and wonderful people on top of that. I would recommend them both in the highest regard.

Jon and Lori are absolutely awesome and I can't say enough good things about them. Jon is really funny and kept us laughing the whole time. He would do anything for a good picture and was actually laying in the dirt and rocks. Afterwards his whole backside was coverred in dirt but it didn't phase him. Anything we asked, they obliged. Lori did our flowers and they were gorgeous. We had many compliments on them. Jon and Lori were so easy to work with and you can't go wrong with these guys!

If you want to look like the famous models and actresses on the cover of Life and Look Magazine, you MUST get Jon and Lori Woodbury.

One of the most important decisions we made was the choice of the photographer, because we knew no matter how much we invested in all aspects of the wedding, the photos would long after capture the story of the event.

So we spent a lot of time researching and reviewing a lot of photographers. We felt it might be the most important decision of the wedding. (Other, then deciding to get married, of course, and oh and we like good cake).

Anyway, the second we saw Jon's work we were transfixed. The use of color, shading and light was impressive. Their storytelling ability with the photos was so important to us, and they were creative and receptive to our ideas.

They are a very loving couple and easy to work with. They are also very professional. I also think they are in a separate league in their field.

I did write to Jon after the wedding and said, we want to plan something else, just so he can take the pictures. It doesn't matter, it could be giving our dog a bath, he will still make it look amazing.

We loved working with Jon and Lori. Your wedding day is a busy busy day where you really don't want to have to worry about anything other than getting married to your sweetheart and just enjoying that special time. I felt like we could trust Jon to capture the feeling of the events of that day so we could just enjoy it, and that feeling was priceless. We spent some time that day taking posed shots, but during most of the festivities, Jon just did his thing, and photography was the last thing on our minds, just as it should have been. Nevertheless, we have gotten tons of compliments on his photography already from our engagement pictures, and lots of people commented after our reception that they loved our photographer. He captured all the important moments with very minimal disruption to the festivities. At one point during our outdoor reception, he climbed up onto a second floor balcony to get an aerial shot of us dancing with our guests. That's commitment! I can't say enough good about the service we got from Jon. From the beginning, he and his wife spent tons of time with us getting to know what was special about us and what our vision was for the photography of our event, and I think that really shows through in the quality of the images and how well they reflect our personalities and interests. The photography of your wedding is definitely worth paying for an experienced professional, and Jon is easily the best I've seen. In fact, I'd say the only reason to NOT hire him is if you have your heart set on boring photography that looks like everyone else's (which I'm sure he'd do if that's what you're into, but what a waste of talent that would be!).

I cannot even start to express my love for Jon and his wife Lori. Not only were Jon's photos AMAZING....(That of which I CONSTANTLY have compliments on) but Lori's flowers were awesome! I had someone come up to me after they saw our photos and said "I didn't even know you could do wedding photography like that..."My response? "Neither did I my friend. Neither did I."

With the ability to leave people in awe, this dynamic duo of a couple will literally rock your wedding world. My wedding went off without a hitch and I can only thank Jon and Lori's relatable personalities, hard work, and awesome talent! THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!

Jon and Lori were amazing to work with. We had some weird scheduling issues and the were always willing to work with us and make it work. His eye for composition and color lent to some amazing pictures. He did anything and everything he could to get the best shot and help us have picture that we will cherish forever. We had the privilege of making him get wet one each of our 3 shoots. He did it with a smile and the shot are spectacular.

I have been a working actor for several years and in that time have worked with several different photographers. Jon is the BEST photographer I have and will ever work with HANDS DOWN. He has a way of capturing every single moment you want to remember in the best light possible. Going through his photos makes you feel like you are living that time again, an ability that is above and beyond the competition.
I have gotten so many compliments off the photos he has done for me not only for their beauty but also for the professionalism and creativity shown at my wedding. He made it fun and easy for everyone.

As I sat down to write a review for Jon and Lori (his awesome wife who does beautiful flowers for incredible prices - I give her five stars as well) I thought to myself, "I am going to write them the most glowing review ever!" And then when I looked at the other reviews on the page, I realized I was not alone - everyone else had given him five stars as well! I am not surprised one bit. Jon did an absolutely amazing job with the photography, and several of our friends and family members have mentioned this to us. Of all the items and services we purchased for our wedding, photography was the most important, and I literally scoured Google from top to bottom, reviewing the work of more photographers than I can count. We spoke with dozens and met with several. For easier reading, here is a list of reasons why Jon Woodbury does the best photography in the greater Salt Lake area (and I am picky):

1. He creates a perfect balance of posed and candid pictures - he is very creative and clearly has an eye for a great shot.
2. He can capture a moment, and will make any quick "tweaks" if necessary - without disrupting the flow of the event.
3. He has a gift for editing photos to bring out the best in every shot. He keeps them natural but isn't afraid of adding some artistic flair in creative shots.
4. He can recognize people's best features and make them look like models (no exaggeration here).
5. He is SO flexible. He and Lori didn't bat an eye when I made last minute changes to the schedule (i.e. asked them to come earlier). He flowed with our event and stayed until the wee hours to make sure he captured every moment. It was a very long day for him but he was so cheerful and hardworking the whole time.
6. He is a riot to be around - super funny and personable. He's professional yet relaxed and upbeat. He was genuinely touched by our ceremony - it didn't feel like we had another vendor at the wedding...it felt like he was a friend who happened to be taking amazing pictures the entire day!
7. His prices are more than fair. Maybe I shouldn't say this, but I feel like we got WAY more than we paid for. We were on a teacher's budget, and I truthfully did not think we would be able to afford such incredible service and amazing pictures. I am so thankful their prices are so reasonable!
8. The Woodburys are a dream team. As I mentioned earlier, his wife Lori does flowers, and she does so beautifully - with the best prices I found in my search. I don't know squat about flowers, but she took my extremely vague descriptions ("Something nature-y with lots of wildflowers and vine-y type things...) and created something that was ten times better than what was in my head. Truly - we felt blessed by the Woodburys. I didn't think I'd say that about "vendors" we hired for the wedding, but they are more than that - they genuinely love what they do, and it shows both in the quality of their work and their awesome personalities.

Jon, Lori and Andrea were so fantastic! We loved that THEY loved what they were doing and they shot the big picture and all of the awesome details. And they were fun and east to work with and have at our wedding- super important! The shots we have seen so far are amazing and we can't wait to see more. Jon did a fantastic job! We had a really diverse and fun crowd, and he didn't miss a beat! He made a lot of adjustments, worked really well with our guests and the bride and groom and he seemed to have fun during the whole process, which added to our event!

He went above and beyond in taking literally thousands of photos and stayed into the wee hours to continue to capture the great moments. The bride and groom were very happy with his extra attention and time!

He was professional, organized and really flexible!! I would highly recommend Jon (and his wife Lori is equally great).

We absolutely love Jon & his wife Lori (they are kind of a package deal!) Jon has an incredible eye and, if you tell him what you're looking for (or even give him a vague idea!) he can make your dreams reality.

Jon and Lori were both fabulous to work with! Jon did our photography for our engagements, formals, reception, wedding day, and luncheon. Lori did all of our flowers. I was really impressed with the amount of time they spent with us before the wedding getting to know us and our personalities and styles. I know this played a huge part in how our photos turned out - they were comfortable and fun! Jon was super flexible. We changed the date of both our engagements and formals last minute because of weather conditions, and he had no problem with it. During our shoots, there seemed to be no pressure or time restraint. Jon was focused on getting the best shots possible, even leading into the evening to get sunset shots. He definitely goes the extra mile to give you more than you expect. He captured our personalities and had fun with our style. I loved how all the pictures turned out! And, the website he uses makes it so easy to view and download your images. It was hard to narrow down because we had so many favorites! Both Lori and Jon are fun people and easy to work with. Lori was very flexible with my last-minute decisions on flowers. She also was helpful in giving me ideas of where to get good deals on anything wedding :). I was really stressed with who to go with for our photography and am SO pleased with this decision. I would recommend Jon and Lori to anybody. We had a great experience with them! Thank you so much Woodburys!!

Jon was great to work with. I love the pictures that were taken of my wedding and I would refer anyone to him. I love the way that he captured different moments that were different and unique than other photographers. I also loved the coloring of the pictures. We took pictures in front of a sunset where my husband asked for my hand in marriage. The pictures were breath-taking.

Weddings by Woodbury was wonderful! Jon was extremely professional and never once complained about us dragging him around all weekend! He gives great direction and makes you feel natural and comfortable through all of the different shots. We had seen his work from a friend's wedding and knew he would be our photographer! Also, he has such great knowledge of what works and what doesn't, he gave us a bunch of pointers about how our wedding ceremony should flow. Lori provided our amazing flowers and was completely accomodating with my many requests and changes, even last minute. I didn't have to worry about taking a single picture all weekend, because I knew that Jon cared about capturing the different stages of our event just as much as we did!
