Where to begin with this incredibly talented, genuinely kind, fantastic team? I’ll just share my own experience and hope this review can somehow capture a shred of how amazing they are.

First impression - the website. Their website immediately told me these people care. They care about their art, they care about their clients, they care about collaboration and want perfection for you as much as you want it. I fell in love with their style of both photo and video. No two videos were the same, just like no two couples are. Their work displays individuality and it was as if each couples’ essence was captured and celebrated. Their site is also very thorough with explanations, you can tell right away that they want to be transparent, that they put a ton of care into it, and that they are in love with love!

My first call confirmed what I already knew - that I needed them to be my photo/video team. It wasn’t a stiff business call, they took time to get to know me and learn about my fiancé, how we met, and what we cared about most. It was a great vibe check, which was amazing. We knew we’d be spending a long day with the vendors we hired, so we made a point of only hiring people we’d love to have dinner with. Scarlet Oak totally fit the bill.

The Prep call was fantastic. Elli took the time to ask me detailed questions that touched on sensitivities I never would have thought to mention. This helped us avoid any potentially awkward situations and I cannot express enough how much I appreciated this extra mile! Our families are not the easiest, and they nailed it all.

Wedding day! They arrived perfectly on time, got to work immediately, and were just magical. Our families have not stopped raving about how fabulous the team was, how hard working and kind, how they were all invisible but were always there whenever they thought to themselves “this would be an amazing photo”. They made us and our families and friends feel like absolute stars, and we are deeply grateful to have had the opportunity to have them capture our wedding.

When photographers and videographers tell you that your wedding photos and video are the most important investment, it can feel like it’s just a hard sell. Please take my word for it - it’s fact.

On our wedding day, our DJ was late and messed up every single important dance song. At the time, it felt awful. But we rolled with it, and learned VERY QUICKLY that those things fade almost immediately and don’t make it into the memory bank. But the photography and videography team is seriously the single most important investment someone can make for their wedding. Because those are where the lasting memories live.

We feel so incredibly lucky to have had this team capture photo and video of our big day. These are the memories we’ll have when we’re old and gray and wrinkly and still in love lol. Scarlet Oak was given a tremendous responsibility and we couldn’t be happier with how they delivered!

Please, treat your vendors well. Not just monetarily. Respect them, include them, give them freedom to work how they work best, then just step back and watch them shine for you. This team WANTS to be their best for you. The value they deliver is tremendous. If you have the opportunity to hire them, don’t even think twice, it’ll be the best decision you make!

Scarlet Oak Photography has some of the most talented, yet welcoming people I have met! The studio & their staff do a great job at communicating all the important details for your shoot, whether its a small family shoot or a shoot for a big day, like a wedding, while also keeping the whole process fun and oriented around you.

When it came to the actual photoshoots, they made it so fun! They are willing to do travel shoots (for an extra fee that was fair) and make it a good/fun time, wherever you go. We got our engagement, bridals, and wedding day photos all done with Scarlet Oak and love all of them! The photographers & editors do a great job at adjusting the photos to the style you want, whether you want light/airy, golden sunset vibes, moody/romantic, you name it!

At the end of the day, we felt it was most important to capture memories and the connections we have with loved ones. Scarlet Oak did a great job of capturing that, through both posed and candid shots. Additionally, the staff are great at being flexible, adjusting their style if you have personal concerns/needs, and also managing large groups for big family photos :) We loved working with them and look forward to seeing them around in the future as well!

I got my videography done by Scarlett Oak Studio and it turned out absolutely beautiful. From the beginning of the process to the end, everything was very professional and friendly. Brinton, Colby, and Aaron were the team for our big day and they were nothing short of amazing! They went so far above and beyond what we had expected of them. Scarlet Oaks Studio exceeded expectations! The team that was brought for the wedding day was genuinely so excited to video and be involved in the magic. They completely matched the energy of the room whether it was laughing and smiling during the dance party, or serious and sentimental during the ceremony/cake cutting/first dances.
