J. was fantastic. He was like a ghost in the crowd during the wedding and caught such amazing moments throughout the event. As the bride, there was so much going on and I didn't have to direct J. at all, he just flowed through the preparation, ceremony and party with ease and captured everything. He also had some fabulous ideas for posed pictures post ceremony.
From the start I knew he would be great because he contacted me immediately after I sent a request to him and actually PICKED UP THE PHONE to speak in person. Crucial in my book!
We were absolutely impressed with his professionalism and the pictures are beyond even "a thousand words". We couldn't be happier. Thank you J. and the Rock n' Roll Wedding Club for capturing a once in a lifetime event that we will treasure forever. I will highly recommend you to anyone I know! -

Jason's work is absolutely magnificent! His intuition for what to capture was perfect, from the largest gestures to the smaller more intimate exchanges between us and our guests. Jason tailored the shots to our taste while matching his artistic touches in ways that expertly fit our personalities and how we envisioned our special day. His fees were very reasonable and our photos were ready much more quickly than we could have imagined. From start to finish, our experience with Jason was phenomenal. We could not recommend him more highly! -

Jason was frankly incredible! He came highly recommended and we weren't disappointed. He took incredible candid and posed shots, with many of the posed looking candid.
Of greatest value to us was his ability to capture quality moments with our son and daughter who do not make taking pictures of them easy. She prefers awkward fake grins to avoid opening her mouth (her teeth look great, but she doesn't think so) and he likes to make crazy eyebrows (which he learned from me... do'h). Jason was able to capture both of them with normal smiles (even if they aren't normal for them ;).
For this alone he was priceless, but his actual rates were quite reasonable. Based on the recommendations we received, we expected a premium, but he was actually less than many other vendors we considered. He had to travel for our wedding and ensured our costs in that regard were minimal. He also uses a great website that you can share with family and friends so they can order any pictures they want as well.
Speaking of which, he also took great pictures of all the guests. Reviewing the photos after the fact we learned he'd done a ton of photos of the guests (mostly candid but a bunch of posed as well) so they all benefited from his excellent service as well... no need any of them to pay for a separate family photo shoot this year!
We cannot recommend Jason highly enough. His flexibility, empathy and frankly genius talent with a camera make him priceless!!! -

Jason was such a pleasure to work with. He went above and beyond to get photos of every part of our big day, and even dropped in on the Rehearsal dinner to capture some moments from that night. His work is perfect for couples who are tired of the same old boring wedding photos. I could not be more pleased with the quantity and quality of images we ended up with. Highly recommend! -

We connected with Jason immediately. He shot both our engagement shoot and wedding, and both were incredible experiences. He stayed with me and my girls for most of the morning, sending his 2nd shooter to the boys and I know we all felt really comfortable and calm with both of them. Throughout the event, the pictures turned out so unique and gorgeous. Would absolutely recommend him for any related work. We actually just gifted my mom a family shoot with him this fall. Thanks Jason! -

Authentic and genuine work
Are you a little bit alt, geeky, or otherwise counter-culture? Needing a chill vibe for your big day? Repelled by rustic, live-laugh-love style photography? Read on! J did our engagement photos as well as photography for our wedding, so in and of itself, that says a lot! He was able to pick up on our vibe for both shoots, so both are a bit different, but remain feeling very authentic to our nature as a couple. So much life, color, and excitement shows through in our engagement photos, and the vintage, dreamy feel of our wedding was taken to the next level!
I'd like to add, as an introvert, trust me when I say that you will be taken care of. Not once did we feel embarrassed or pushed out of our comfort zone, from planning to during the shoot itself. Once you get chatting with J, it will feel like an old friend is there with you. The turn around time for getting the photos back was timely, and it is obvious a lot of thought is put into the editing. I love that the same or similar pictures will be included, but with different color filters put over it to make various things pop in each one. In our wedding photos, I also loved that there were "bloopers" or more just natural moments included. We got back some precious pictures of genuine reactions this way. It was wholesome to see people in the background of images laughing as a reaction to a joke, or getting emotional during the ceremony. Not everything is staged and that lets you relive the day so much more clearly and truly let the personalities of everyone shine.

Whatever you do, hire this guy.
Quality: Jay was excellent. He captured so many great moments, great candids. Anything he lined up took a beautifully natural, but edgy look. He's great at this and it shows in his work and the way he makes his subjects feel comfortable and confident during the shoot. Responsiveness: he responded to all of our inquiries immediately, the weeks and months leading up to the wedding, until the day of, always communicating. Then kept us posted on the status of the photos after... which, by the way, were done within TWO WEEKS of the wedding. He even sent us some sneak peeks a few days after so we could share on social media.
Professionalism: we contacted Jay to do a boudoir shoot prior to the wedding, which is always odd and a bit nerve-wracking bringing a stranger into such a personal setting, but he was professional to the extreme, great coaching, made us laugh and feel comfortable and had us looking our best.
Value: he was with us for the entire day of the wedding, trying to catalog every moment as it happened. For the price, for his style and incredible skill, for the speed of return, for HOW MANY photos we got back (over 1,000!), his value can't be beat. Flexibility: he shot our private boudoir (indoors), pre-wedding (outdoors), wedding with friends and family, around-town reception on Halloween night - vast array of settings and styles with seamless transition. The dude is just that good. You're done shopping around. -
