  Alexandra Whitney was amazing to work with! She makes sure to understand the people she is photographing, meeting with you and getting a clear idea of what you as the client are looking for. She photographed our wedding in October of 2011, during the Halloween Blizzard. She captured all the little moments you hope to have for years to come, details most people don't think to take pictures of. She ran with us through snow, slush, cold and roads with trees down blocking our path. If you have the oppurtunity to book her, you definately should!!! You will have memories that will last forever!!!

  Alexandra was an absolute pleasure to work with! She prioritizes building a relationship with the individuals/couples she is photographing, and so when we selected her as our photographer, we did a Skype call, followed by a follow up conference call prior to the wedding. Throughout the planning process, she maintained contact with us- she sent us caramels at the new year, a questionnaire of family members and our preferences for the day of, and then after our wedding, the most beautiful flash drive I have ever seen! All of these personal touches really show the value that Alexandra places on her relationships with her clients. The day of our wedding, she was fantastic- we have a beautiful mix of portraits and more candid natural shots. My husband I could not be more thrilled with our photos! Thank you Alex!

  For our engagement session (included in Alex's wedding package), we wanted to wait until there was a good amount of snow on the ground for a dreamy, wintery feel. Of course you can't plan for snow, so we couldn't exactly book a date. We told Alex our plan, and she was totally on board! There were a few false alarms, but we finally got a HUGE snowstorm at the end of the winter. Like, over a foot of snow, and still snowing on the day of our session. It was such a fun, memorable day for us and our snowy photos came out perfect. Alex was so flexible and we couldn't thank her enough for being so willing to go with the flow for us!
  Fast forward 8 months to our wedding day! Alex showed up at the hotel while we were getting ready and stayed until after the cake cutting. She was efficient, fun, and not at all intrusive. Alex is a dream to work with... numerous people from our families and bridal party told us how great they thought she was (we agreed)! She's a lot of fun but still keeps things professional, and best of all? Her photos. Alex is incredibly talented at what she does. We LOVE our wedding pictures and are so happy we chose Alex to document our day!

  Alex was amazing! From her first email she was friendly, upbeat, and interested in getting to know a bit about my husband and I - rather than just sending me a package and letting me know the deposit amount! She took our engagement photos (included in the package - she says primarily so we can spend some time together before wedding day), which came out great and she even sent some useful tips in advance. On our wedding day, Alex managed to be firm and keep us on schedule/ make sure we got all the shots we needed, but also so pleasant and non-intrusive. Several bridesmaids and family members commented too on how great she was. I was a little nervous about not having a second shooter, as Alex does most weddings on her own, but we had a phone call, she asked about my concerns and talked me through why she thought it would work out great. She offered the option to hire a second shooter at a (reasonable) hourly rate, but I decided to trust her judgement and seeing the photos, I'm glad we didn't waste the money. We got our digital album back less than a month after the wedding (which I hear from my newlywed friends is quite fast...) and the photos are absolutely beautiful. Alex was also with us all day - no set time limit. I hated the idea of trading off certain moments (or paying a fortune for extra hours!) when reviewing other photo proposals with a set number of hours. Alex arrived when I was getting my hair done and stayed through our sparkler send-off, so every moment of the day was captured. Oh, and the price was extremely reasonable! Highly, highly recommend.

  We just received our photos from our wedding and couldn't be happier! Alex did a great job and was so easy to work with. We had no doubt the pictures were going to turn out great after we saw the quality of the photos from our engagement shoot. She was like a ninja the day of our wedding; you wouldn't even know she was there until you heard the click of the camera, and so she was able to capture some great natural shots. Alex did a fantastic job putting us at ease; neither of us feel like we are particularly photogenic or great a posing for pictures. But Alex knew exactly what to say to get us to look fabulous in our pictures.

  Alexandra Whitney Photography not only provided a great photography service for our engagement session and wedding, but was also available for questions about the whole "planning a wedding" process. Alex is happy to answer questions and offer her opinion, and it was so helpful for someone that was the first to get married in the family -- and was very unsure of the process. And the photos are absolutely stunning. She was quick with the photo sessions on the day of, which helped due to some time constraints. But that's the thing -- she is able to work in whatever time you give her, and come out with gorgeous results each time. Please check out her website to see her work. I would absolutely recommend Alexandra Whitney Photography for anyone's upcoming nuptials, and as a photographer in general.   Photography was one of the most important parts of the wedding for me. I did a lot of research, and I am so glad we picked Alex! Starting with the engagement session, she made us feel comfortable and helped us learn what looks good on camera. She is very patient and will answer all your questions. She has a great personality, which is important for someone who is going to be with you all day. She was a calming presence and helped the whole day go smoothly. Alex captured lots of wonderful candid moments and nice posed shots as well. We have gotten lots of compliments on our photos. Alex's prices are reasonable too. I think this says it all...when Alex left at the end of the reception, I felt just as sad as if I were saying goodbye to a friend!

From our very first meeting with her to discuss our engagement pictures and wedding layout to the very last shot of the reception, Alex was an absolute pleasure to work with. She was timely and professional, but also very fun and energetic. She made every photo comfortable and was very helpful in making sure we got exactly what we wanted out of our big day. On the day of the wedding, she seemed to be everywhere and nowhere all at once (exactly what you want out of your photographer).   My husband and I knew we had to have Alex at Alexandra Whitney for our wedding. I cannot say enough wonderful things about our experience with her. Not only are her photos gorgeous, but she makes everyone feel comfortable and camera ready. She is a real pro and a great person to spend your special day with. From the moment we met her she took the time to get to know us as a couple and individuals; her photos really reflected our taste and the atmosphere of our day. All of our guests were so impressed by her, she managed to be everywhere capturing the moment but never in anyones way. We highly recommend Alex!

  Alex went with us to Turks and Caicos to photograph our destination wedding. She did an incredible job. I can't express how beautiful our photos turned out and how much my husband and I love them.

From our first meeting, I had the feeling that she was genuinely interested in the story of our relationship and in our wedding plans, and that she had a genuine enthusiasm for documenting people's most important life experiences. Alex was the perfect balance of professional and fun, and she offers encouraging feedback while taking your pictures, so you feel comfortable and confident. She was great!

After our original plans fell through, I remembered the photos she took for a friend's wedding and knew she would do a great job just based on that. She is extremely talented and it shows in her work. The cherry on top of that is that she is super fun to be around and makes you feel so comfortable. During the ceremony, she lurked in the shadows and I forgot she was there, but while we were doing group shots she organized everything and made us laugh. For me, that was the best part because the photos don't look staged. I was actually relaxed and having a good time. She worked with us on price and was a pleasure to be around. I would recommend her to anyone and will probably be calling again as our family grows!

  Alex is the best - that's the easiest way to explain. The most important vendor for our wedding to me was the photographer. We were going to be difficult - we both do not like our pictures being taken, I am extremely interested in photography and also a control freak. Yet, we wanted to make sure our day was going to be uniquely documented without us having to worry about it and just enjoy ourselves.... Alex made that happen. She understands everyone is different and accommodates to make everyone feel comfortable. Her quality and thoughtfulness is exceptional. We were on a budget (aren't we all?) and Alex is very competitively priced for the work that she does. I had been researching to find someone that wasn't going to make our photos like everyone else's wedding photos without me having to tell them what shots to take and stage things out myself. Alex is it. If you want someone you can be comfortable around, have a good time, and still expect exceptional results.... then you want Alex!

  Alex was an absolute pleasure to work with. She always responded quickly to my questions. She always had ideas to bounce off me and she listened when I had ideas about things that I wanted. I would highly recommend her. Photography was, for me, the most important aspect of my wedding and Alex's photos do not disappoint, she managed to capture the heart and soul of my wedding.
