Bottom line? Book. Barone.
Where do I even begin? He is both a gentleman AND a scholar. In all seriousness, I met John a few years prior to our wedding during a boudoir shoot for my sister and I. (Now if someone can make you feel completely comfortable the first time they meet you AND during a boudoir shoot I feel like that’s saying something…) My sister used John for her engagement/announcement and wedding photos; so as soon as I got engaged I booked John! He was the first vendor I booked and literally planned the entire wedding around HIS availability.
John arrived at the perfect time without any issue, and when fate threw a curveball (ie the world’s smallest “bus” aka a VAN) and the wedding party needed to figure out how to get to the venue for the first look/group shots he also selflessly offered to play role of chauffeur! (This is definitely not a part of the package, I just feel like it speaks to who he is as a person.) John allows you to be yourselves, for my husband and I that meant we didn’t have to do any of the overly gross, staged, lovey-dovey pictures. He also suggests lots of cool options; some of our best pictures were taken with him PERCHED IN A TREE taking aerial shots of the wedding party laying on the ground. Don’t be afraid to do what he suggests, you won’t be sorry that you did!
My guests loved how John and his assistant were involved in all the action, which allowed him to get some of the most memorable pictures. My guests also enjoyed the B&W photobooth he does towards the end of the evening. Some honorable mentions from the B&W session include hand stands, pictures with random plastic ponies?, and many family/couples/group shots. PS, you get alllll of the pictures on a flash drive that comes in the cutest darn packaging.
Bottom line: Book. Barone. Since my wedding at least FOUR of my friends have booked him; I’m sure more will once they get engaged.

Words Do Do John's Work Justice
John is one of those people who you meet and go "yup, that's it". From the first moment we met I just knew John was the right person to capture our wedding, and somewhere along the process he became a friend. John is exceptionally talented and has an incredible eye for photography. He isn't one of those stuffy wedding photographers, and instead prides himself on letting the couples personality shine - which is exactly what we wanted. Our photos are fun, lighthearted and completely us. John goes above and beyond to get the right shot (on a 20 degree day in December he was giving me HIS coat so I could stay warm!) and the B&W Photo Booth is such a fun twist and value add. I could go on and on for days about how lucky we were to have John as a part of our wedding but I'll just say this: I full on gasped when I got our photos back. John - thank you for everything. You are the bomb.com.

Hiring John as our wedding photographer was probably the best decision we made throughout the wedding planning process. I am in media and was pretty picky about the photographer from the beginning but was instantly drawn to John's beautiful work. But the joy of working with him went well beyond that. He was easy to work with from the beginning, but you don't realize until the day-of how much your rapport with your photographer matters. John basically ran the day up until the ceremony and it could not have been more calm (and so fun!). He clearly had a creative vision, but was also endlessly flexible and we always felt like he had it under control without being demanding or overbearing. We trusted him completely, which made the day so much more relaxing than many wedding-days that I have been a part of as a bridesmaid. It allowed us to simply enjoy the day, which is the best gift any couple getting married could ask for. Additionally, we just got the photos back and they are incredible. John and Stuart (his assistant) did an incredible job capturing the day: the bigger important moments and the ones we barely caught ourselves but are priceless. Somehow they got the best shots without ever getting in the way. Magic! Also the black and white photo set is an incredible idea and the photos from it are AMAZING. We had to kind of negotiate with our venue for the space to do it, but it was totally worth it. The photos are hilarious and really capture the personalities of our closest friends and family-members. All in all, if you are considering working with John for your big day, think no more. Just do it. I promise you won't regret it
John is one of our absolute favorite photographers in the area and has been for quite some time. He's a true pro who has his own style. We've literally seen him climb into a lake to get the perfect shot, and here's the proof! https://vimeo.com/217551022
We have been working with John for several years now, and in addition to working extrmely well with our video teams on location at weddings, John's work is beautiful, He even photographed my son's wedding! Absolutely beautiful pictures!!
I had the pleasure of working with John on a gorgeous wedding at the Cairnwood Estate. Upon meeting John you immediately feel at ease! His amazing talent allows him to capture the beauty of the day and the love between the bride and groom. The "photo booth" that he provides is a MUST for any reception as your guests will love being a part of impromptu photo shoots during the evening. I can't say enough about John and his work! His pictures aren't just photos they are a work of art!
