On our wedding day, John and his second shooter, Denida, were absolutely incredible. They kept everything running smoothly, handled a last-minute big family photo with zero stress, and brought such a calm, positive energy to the day. They even worked magic with the kids in our wedding party — jumping, making funny noises, whatever it took to get those perfect smiles.

And the photos…wow. John’s style is stunning. Every shot is vibrant, crisp, and full of life, yet nothing feels staged. The portraits are elegant and cinematic, and the candid moments are pure emotion. He somehow captures the real moments without you even noticing he’s there. Watching our wedding video, we realized John had sprinted across the dance floor to capture the final dip of our first dance — we hadn’t even noticed! If your priority is to have the most amazing photos for your wedding (like mine was) then John is your guy. He was so communicative throughout, kept us on schedule (which was no easy task with my group), had unbelievable vision for all our pictures and to no surprise provided images better than I could have ever hoped for. My husband and I looked over an obscene amount of photographers before we thankfully stumbled upon John Barone on The Knot. At the time, we were living in Philadelphia and planning our wedding for where we would be relocating to, just outside of Scranton.

John shot our engagement photos in Philadelphia, and he did an incredible job. His personality immediately puts us at ease. This was huge for us because we are not the type of people who are naturals in front of the camera. What could have felt awkward didn’t, and that made the entire experience and the photos so much better.

By no surprise, John himself was booked on our wedding day, but two members of his team, Denida and Michael, were there to shoot our wedding. Denida was absolutely hilarious while still being very professional, and Michael fit right in with the guys. They both made the day feel easy and comfortable, which is exactly what we needed on our wedding day.

The editing did take time, but the saying really does hold true, good things come with time. My husband and I were completely blown away by how incredible our photos turned out. Every detail, and every moment was captured beautifully.

I cannot say enough good things about working with John Barone and his 2nd photographer Stef. The booking process was beyond smooth (make sure you snag him super early!! John books up fast - and for good reason) John made sure to set up a video call with us before we even signed a contract to make sure we aligned on the direction we were looking for. On the day of our wedding, both John and Stef showed up early and got straight to work. They both kept us on schedule but making sure to include all shots that we had asked for. John would show me previews right off of his camera - even before the editing, the shots were turning out incredible. We really enjoyed their vibes throughout the whole day and night - so funny and down to earth, while remaining professional and getting the job done quick and efficiently. All of our guests had nothing but kind words to say about these two. We also had the black and white portrait booth which was AMAZING. Again, nothing but great feedback about this. If we had to re-do this day, we would continue to choose John & Stef over and over and over again. His work is gorgeous and truly invaluable. John was one of the first vendors that we booked for our wedding since photography was incredibly important to us. We knew we needed to get it right. The pictures came out stunningly beautiful and perfectly captured all of the emotions of the day. Aside from this, John's professionalism throughout the planning process was nothing short of incredible. Super professional team. They had our needs and ideas in mind. They made my wife and me feel super comfortable. They guided us through the wedding event. Between John Barone Photography and our wedding coordinator, I felt like they helped make our lives simple and got us where we needed to be for each event. They were quick and efficient as well with taking photos. Making it very interactive and making us do fun exercises to loosen us up and make us laugh. We love our photos and look at them often. The black and white photo booth was really awesome for the guests as well. John and Stuart tied our wedding together and made it seamless.

I was hesitant to book anyone for our wedding photography at first — it wasn’t personal, I just felt unsure and overwhelmed by the whole process. But John Barone completely changed that. He followed up thoughtfully over email and offered to set up a call. From the moment we started talking, I felt like I was catching up with an old friend. He was clearly the most capable person I had spoken to, and by the end of the call, I was completely sold on him and his team.

I had my heart set on a documentary-style photographer, and I was especially drawn to Stuart’s work. I followed his portfolio online and was continually impressed with every post. Leading up to the wedding, John was more of a help than he probably realizes. He took the reins on scheduling the entire day — something that should’ve been in my wheelhouse (I’m a planner and a project manager by day), but somehow felt incredibly daunting. John made it easy and even encouraged me to book extra time with our venue. Thank god he did. Every bit of advice he gave was spot on, from how much time we needed for getting ready, to first look, to portraits. The guy knows what he’s doing — he’s a true professional and I only wish I listened to him sooner.

On the day of, Stuart and Denida were top tier. They arrived right on time, were exceptionally kind, and made both me and my husband feel completely comfortable. They worked seamlessly and quietly, doing things behind the scenes that I didn’t even notice in the moment — because they never wanted me to stress. My family and friends were absolutely obsessed with both of them. They were not only professional, but also hilarious and engaging — somehow making noises I didn’t even know were humanly possible to get the attention of my 10-month-old twin nephews!

I would book this team again in a heartbeat and will recommend them to everyone I know. There was truly nothing more they could have done to make our day more perfect — because they already did it all. When I received our photos from John, everything was communicated clearly and on time. I never once had to worry, and the results? Absolutely exceeded every expectation. The photos are spectacular, beautifully edited, and exactly what I had dreamed of.
