Historic Wedding Venues in Greater New York City Metro

If you have visited the Foundry, you know how amazing and beautiful it is, but what you don’t know before you work with them is how responsive and helpful they are once you have committed to them. We had about 130 guests and used the main room for the ceremony, the greenhouse room and space outside for the cocktail hour, the courtyard for the reception dinner, the main room again for the dancing, and the greenhouse room again for the after party (11 to midnight). We also rented the Du Val suite for getting ready, and it was a superb space for the groom’s party and extended family to get ready and hang out and also has the most beautiful garden with city views. Our wedding was absolutely amazing and vindicated our immediate love for the Foundry that we developed the first time we toured it, and the Foundry staff are extremely helpful and kind.

We loved the Picnic House for our May wedding. It was everything we wanted -- like we walked to the park and all our friends and family were there to celebrate with us. The area behind the venue where we did the wedding was in total bloom which was very special, but Prospect Park is ALWAYS going to be special! The new floor really elevates the indoor space, and it all felt lovely, personal and unpretentious. Great acoustics too -- never felt overwhelmingly loud but the dance party went OFF.

Pictures really don't do Flushing Town Hall justice - every part of the venue is beautiful. We took pictures in the garden, had our ceremony in the gallery, and had our reception in the theatre. Each space was totally different but still gorgeous. All of the different artwork throughout the building gave it such a unique look - it's the perfect venue for anyone looking for a beautiful space that doesn't feel like a typical wedding venue. On top of that, we were able to choose every single one of our vendors, which was so difficult to find anywhere else.

We had the most incredible experience having our wedding at The Wythe Hotel. From start to finish, the entire team made everything feel seamless, thoughtful, and genuinely special. The Wythe has such a unique charm — the blend of character, warmth, and those amazing NYC views — and it created the perfect atmosphere for our fall wedding. One of the biggest standouts was the staff. Everyone — from the hotel team to the waitstaff to the wedding staff — was unbelievably kind, communicative, and attentive. You can tell they host many weddings and have an amazing flow, but ours still felt so personal and unique. Nothing ever felt rushed or cookie-cutter; it truly felt like *our* day. And the food… absolutely insane. We’re still getting so many compliments from our guests about how delicious everything was, from the cocktails to the dinner to the late-night bites. The service was flawless, warm, and incredibly well-orchestrated. We felt completely taken care of the entire time. Every question was met with clarity, every detail handled with care, and every moment supported by a team that genuinely wanted our day to be perfect. We are so grateful to The Wythe Hotel for giving us a wedding experience that exceeded every expectation. We couldn’t recommend them more!

Celebrate at Snug Harbor continues to be one of my favorite venues to work with. Every detail is handled with care, and having Kenzie as the main point of contact makes all the difference. She's the captain of the ship, keeping things running smoothly while creating space for vendors to do their best work. I recently DJ’d the BNI Prefer to Refer holiday party there, and like every event I've done at Snug, it was executed beautifully from start to finish. The communication is seamless, the team is organized and respectful of every role, and the guest experience is always a priority. I look forward to every opportunity to work with Kenzie and the entire Snug Harbor crew.

We chose Sound River Studios initially because it fit within our budget and for the spectacular views. What ended up making our wedding perfect was Una, the vendors she recommended and the entire team at Sound River Studios. Una was very conscientious about fitting everything we wanted into our budget and creating a realistic timeline for the day. We felt little stress because we knew Una had everything handled. 10/10 recommend Sound River Studios for any event!

Chaya was a pleasure to work with. Everything was perfect. Chaya was very professional and helpful with advising on event planners and decor. The space was exquisite and was a beautiful backdrop for my daughters engagement party. We were beyond happy and will definitely be making more celebrations at the Arches.

The fabulous: Fort Totten Park is a beautiful, quiet, green oasis that feels like it's been pulled out of time and NYC. The historical society really does look like a castle, with amazing light and acoustics in the second floor ceremony space. Almost all our guests asked how we found this place, and said how beautiful it was. There's a spacious changing area in the attic that you get along with your second-floor rental, which worked well for two brides and our bridal parties to get changed without seeing each other prematurely. Monica and Laura were very helpful throughout the process, providing us with a clear checklist of information and permits we needed to obtain and a timeline for when to provide everything. Slight challenges to bear in mind: Bayside is a bit out of the way if you have guests who live elsewhere in the city, the traffic on the way in tends to be nasty on a Saturday and the parking is very limited. They're also very strict about when you're allowed to set up: they're open 10-4 on Fridays and said we were allowed to drop stuff off then, but seemed surprised when we then stayed all day to actually decorate the space and set up tables. It's a DIY type venue; while they do always have someone on site to supervise and make sure you're not messing with the historical artifacts, they don't provide an event coordinator per se. And the base rental is for six hours—a four hour event with one hour to set up and one to break down. Even doing as much prep as we could on Friday, we ended up paying for three extra hours and it felt tight. Accessibility can also be a concern; they have a chair lift up the stairs to the second floor but it was broken when we arrived day-of, and if not for my sister's engineering skills I'm not sure how my grandmother would have managed. All that said, I'm incredibly glad we chose this place and it felt like a unique and magical oasis for our wedding.

An incredible hidden gem in Brooklyn/Queens! We rented the Onderdonk House and grounds as our venue for our wedding and it was an absolute treat. We lucked out on having great weather, and this spot is perfect for an outdoor celebration. The house is a small historical museum and the grounds have picnic tables, a 40’ x 50’ tent, lush green lawns, and a small garden. We had a 150-person DIY wedding on the grounds and it was the perfect setting to have a big, warm gathering of all our loved ones. We did both our ceremony and reception, and had plenty of space for guests to find quiet areas to sit. Virginia, the Director, was great to work with. She is measured, clear, and communicated all the clear rules of the venue. A few great things I want to call out: (1) The staff was really lovely! They helped answer all of our questions, assisted people in navigating to restrooms, and chatted with our guests about the museum. (2) The venue has a very reasonable set of established rules, that easily accommodated the needs of our wedding. They had a hard sound curfew at 10pm and a hard property exit for everybody at 11pm. We had access to the grounds for both Saturday and Sunday to allow one day for partying and one day to clean up. They were clear what areas and hours we had available to us, and as long as we were respectful of it, there wasn’t an issue. (3) The space is really special, open, and green. We were able to hang our own lanterns and string lights in the trees to create a nice grove, while the venue’s tent fit the dining tables, bar, live band, and dance floor. (4) Speaking of the band, we had no issue with sound! We were worried because we had both a live band and DJ. Virginia mentioned that she would be stern about the volume if she felt that it was too loud for the space and their neighbors, but we never received a warning, never felt that the music was too soft, and everybody seemed to have a great time!

The Weylin was the perfect wedding venue. Working with the entire team there for 9 months was so easy they were so welcoming and accommodating with my out of town schedule. Every single guest that attended was absolutely stunned and in awe of the historic building and the beauty it holds. You can't help but lose your breathe when you walk in its absolutely breathtaking. The Weylin team flipped our ceremony to reception in about an hour and it went by so fast guests didn't want to leave the downstairs cocktail hour. I miss it already!
