Wedding Venues in Grand Junction

Thery were AWESOME!!! Did everything that we asked and was great. Was a little expensive but well worth it.

Great affordable place. Amazing view. Had all the tables and chairs we needed for the reception, also had very nice chairs for an outside ceremony. We got married at the gazebo outside of the reception area. About 2000 less than other venues in the area! Great deal!

We had our wedding ceremony at IHM, not reception. IHM is a Catholic Church so to be married there you'd have to go through the correct procedures beforehand. For information on that you can contact the pastoral assistant, and you can get the contact info by googling IHM in Grand Junction. The pastoral assistant was a life saver for my husband and I. Without her, we would have had no idea how to go about planning our wedding ceremony. She gave us a book with all the different options for readings and things like that so that our ceremony felt more personalized for us. The priest who officiated our ceremony was passing through while the resident priest was away, but he was fantastic and we were very happy to have him do our ceremony. The church has a "bride's room" where my girls and I got ready (with a bathroom and everything), and a rec room down the hall where the men were able to hang out and try to relax before the ceremony. They got some good photos of the guys in their tuxes with a pool table in there. The church is a more modern-looking, circluar design with the altar in the center. I wasn't thrilled with it at first, but there are many sky-lights and it made our ceremony so bright and beautiful that I ended up loving it. We also had our ceremony over Pentacost and all the flowers they had laid out for the season were beautiful as well, and we didn't need to order many flowers to decorate! We hired a singer and a pianist from the church to do our ceremony music (all of which we were allowed to pick out). It was perfect. The only reason I give it 3.5 stars for flexibility is because we didn't have a lot of options in choosing a date for our wedding--in that aspect, the church was definitely the limiting factor in that decision. And for the date we ended up choosing, there were only two times we could choose between--10AM and 11AM. Such an early wedding ceremony made it VERY difficult for me to get my hair done on time and we didn't end up doing the photos we wanted to before the ceremony with our photographer because we ran out of time. But, I still highly recommend IHM if you're looking to get married in the Catholic Church!

We had our wedding reception at the Grand Vista. They do not allow outside caterers, so they did our catering for us. (They DO allow outside wedding cakes though) The Grand Vista was the nicest place we could find that was also within our budget. We checked out a few wineries (way too pricey) and a few other less expensive places, but this one was the most elegant for the price. The food was....ok. I didn't hear any stellar reviews, nor did I hear any complaints. The food was just food I think. The menu we had to choose from didn't have as many options as we would've liked, and since they don't allow outside catering the prices were pretty high, which can only be expected. By "menu" I mean you get a list of plated "dinners" you can choose from, or a list of "buffets" (a list for lunch or a list for dinner). None of the choices were that spectacular, and surprisingly they had a lot of rather casual-like meals, such as chicken fried steak, pizza, burgers, philly cheese steaks, and things like that, not as many options for higher class meals. At least that's how it was for the buffet options (lunch or dinner). I guess I sort of expected buffets like I've seen at other weddings, like roast beef or some kind of chicken or other meat with different kinds of potatos and veggies, but there wasn't this basic sort of option from what I remember. The dinner plating options looked a bit better (fancier), but they were out of our budget and we didn't send out menu cards with our invites. We eventually landed on something that wasn't very elegant but it wasn't pizza either, and it was a noon reception anyway. We ended up buying too much beer and wine, but they let us keep the bottles wine (also overpriced, as expected since you can't bring it in separately yourself). (They said we could take the wine upstairs but they couldn't see us leaving the building with it). My brother convinced them to let the bar in the hotel keep our keg so he and my other siblings/family could drink more of it that night, so not as much beer went to waste ((awesome)). The Grand Vista set aside a block of rooms for our guests so that they could reserve rooms at a slightly lower rate for the wedding, which was nice. They also gave me (the bride) the "Presidential Suite" the night before the wedding for the same low price of a regular room, which was nice. Plenty of space for my family and I to hang out the night before. Nobody in our families are the "dancing" types, so we didn't have a DJ. Instead, the Grand Vista let us hook up my ipod to play through the speakers in the reception hall. Very cool. We had the dance floor set up (no extra cost for these things) so that we could have our first dance, and it was good because they let us have all three adjoining rooms for our reception so there was plenty of space. When we arrived at the reception I noticed the buffet table had christmas lights underneath the table cloth, so that was a nice touch that I wasn't expecting. The Grand Vista has an array of different colored table cloths and napkins to choose from, but we just used white with some table overlays that we bought to go with our particular color theme. They also have candle holders you can use as center pieces or as accents to center pieces. We were allowed to set up our reception hall the day before the wedding, so that was very helpful since we had the wedding rehearsal that night and the ceremony was in the morning the next day. Overall, a good experience with the Grand Vista for our wedding reception. I wish now that we had set aside more of a budget for food, but that money went to our photographer instead. Work with what you've got I guess! They were very helpful with us setting up the reception our big day.

CMU is not what you'd normally think of when you start looking into wedding venues, but that is part of the reason that we chose to have our wedding there. We had our ceremony on the rooftop terrace and our reception in the ballroom of the University Center and it was all beautiful. The staff is very friendly and incredibly helpful. Many of the things that would be additional expenses at other venues are included in the rental cost here (chairs, tables, setup, etc). The venue is nice and clean and easily accessible. Your guests just park in the parking garage attached to the building (for free), take the elevator inside, and that's it! The only downside was that you have to use their catering services, but that honestly did not bother us at all. The catering was flexible, the food was amazing, and everything was so easy since it was all through the same company. The best part was that this venue is less than half the price of almost every other venue in town! Not to mention the money that we saved on renting tables, chairs, linens, etc. Also, the bride and groom's suites have balconies attached to the rooms which made for some really beautiful pictures.
