Kind and compassionate guide as we entered into marriage

We are extremely grateful to Revd Ed for his guidance and support throughout the process of developing the ceremony and of course, for the ceremony itself. He also provided very helpful guidance for navigating the marriage license process in DC. He helped us keep focused, and also helped us find creative ways to incorporate our two families' various faith traditions - and family members themselves - in the ceremony. Above all, he provided us sage advice, guidance, and a space to reflect on marriage and this new phase of our lives together, for which we are very thankful.

Ed was a wonderful officiant. Ed was very helpful with all the planning, and is very knowledgeable. He took care of all of the paperwork for us, which was quite a relief. He knows what he is doing, and he is very good at what he does. Also, he takes time to listen and will make sure your ceremony is how you'd like for it to be. He is friendly, kind, and professional. I received many compliments on his ceremony. I couldn't have been happier with him as an officiant and would highly recommend him to anyone.

I feel so blessed to have worked with Rev. Ed. My wife and I live in Florida and had a large wedding here but we wanted to be legally married in DC. Because of the distance, Ed processed all of our paperwork and we just had to show up for our ceremony. He did all of this in a very short time (about 2 weeks from my initial contact to our ceremony). He was extremely responsive in regards to speed and information. Ed gave us such great insight into locations and timing. He was incredibly flexible.

My wife and I will be forever grateful for Ed. Not only did he take care of everything, he was such a pleasure to work with. Ed is kind, thoughtful and passionate. I would recommend Ed to any couple (gay or straight, local or not).

Ed Ingebretsen is an incredibly professional, flexible and understanding officiant. He tirelessly worked with us to provide helpful guidance and make sure that our ceremony was exactly the way we wanted it to be. For us that meant fewer religious references, and Ed was very flexible to make that happen. Being a professor Ed is incredibly well-versed in literature, poetry and philosophy, and he did an amazing job weaving quotes, poems and other nuggests of wisdom into our ceremony so that everyone found something that deeply resonated with them. He is also great at engaging family and friends into the ceremony making sure that they feel like participants rather than like passive observers. We received so many compliments, and would recommend Ed to anyone without any hesitation!

Rev. Ed officiated at our wedding in September 2013, and I cannot say enough nice things about him. He created a very moving, touching ceremony and really helped framed the significant of our marriage. All of our guests commented on how touching the ceremony was and how elegantly Ed spoke. Many guests assumed Ed was a long-time friend of either myself or my husband because of how personable he was!

He also made all the arrangements with the wedding license, which was a huge help for us, since we weren't local.

We would highly recommend Rev. Ed for any wedding.
