Congratulations on your engagement! My name is Chris Dickens and I create custom, one-of-a-kind wedding ceremonies for couples all across Southern California. I do not have pre-written or canned ceremonies. Everything I do is uniquely tailored to your desires and needs.
As a former stand-up comedian, I love to make people laugh, but as a pastor, I give your wedding ceremony the reverence that it deserves. I am comfortable officiating any type of ceremony from Christian weddings for any denomination, to weddings with no religion at all. My objective is to get to know you as individuals and as a couple so that I can deliver a service that reflects your desires, values, and beliefs.
Thank you for considering me. I look forward to working with you.
You're unique, and your wedding should be too.™

If you're reading this review, then congratulations - you just found your officiant. My husband and I could not have asked for a more perfect ceremony. From the moment we met Chris we were laughing and felt like we had known him for years. After meeting only once in person, and speaking once on the phone to discuss details, he had our guests engaged from start to finish - laughing, crying, and rejoicing in our union. It's been almost a month since our wedding and we are still receiving compliments from guests saying that our ceremony was the best they have ever attended, commenting that they really felt they had a part in our wedding instead of a zombie in the crowd. The best thing about Chris is that he is able to connect with you on every level, making you feel comfortable when you feel silly and has answers and solutions when you are unsure (giving of the bride, vows, etc). Without even explaining in detail to him what we were looking for, he was able to provide a ceremony that ourselves and our guests will remember for years to come, I am so happy my videographer was there to capture this moment! He is also flexible, mainly serving Orange County, Chris came to Los Angeles for our wedding. I honestly do not believe that our wedding ceremony would have been as successful if it weren't for Chris. Hiring him as our officiant was one of the best decisions we made, and he is at the top of the list for our vendors that we selected. Even my friends who are engaged and attended our wedding were asking me about his services! Chris office is also close to us, and we look forward to paying him a visit; when you work with Chris, you're more than just another couple getting married to him. If you want an engaging, thoughtful, personable, heart-felt ceremony with some fun laughs - contact Chris, you will absolutely not regret it.Sent on 02/22/2017

We had a non traditional wedding and multi-faith based audience, we chose to go with Chris when our first officiant fell through. Did not disappoint and made sure the ceremony was everything we wanted and more!! We can not say enough good things about him.Sent on 12/07/2018
He helped us create a unique and non-traditional wedding that left everyone feeling happy and entertained. His language choice and charismatic personality only added to the wonderful ceremony that he created with us.
He met up with us and kept in regular contact, always helping us figure it out, on the way to the alter. His understanding of us and what our vision of the wedding could not have been better. I would recommend him to anyone I know who is looking for a well rounded, capable, and entertaining officiant.

The Perfect Balance
Chris was perfect. The process was fun and the ceremony was flawless. He’s real, he’s professional, and he’s your friend. What more can you ask for?Sent on 12/15/2018
Throughout the process of getting to know each other, writing our vows, and the ceremony itself, I always felt supported and understood. Two huge things for a bride! He ‘got’ us from the very start and did a beautiful job telling our story. We didn’t want anything cheesey or cookie cutter. We wanted it deep, and funny, and personal to us - and Chris did just that! He felt like family up there.
Also worth noting, we have a very non traditional story and didn’t necessarily want a religious wedding, but I loved that he is a pastor and lead us in prayer before the ceremony. It’s of course optional, but it felt right to us.
Of course many people came up to me and asked “Where did you find him? He was amazing!” But I know what they meant was - they could tell we felt full and complete as he told our story, and that it resonated with our guests. Our hope was that everyone would laugh and everyone would cry, and it was all that and more!

As a veteran myself, I can appreciate the sacrifices that the men and women of our armed forces make in service to our country. For that reason, all military personnel (with a valid military ID card) receive 15% off wedding officiant services.
All of us here at Waveform Events LOVE working with Chris of Your Custom Ceremony. The key to his success is right there in the name. Custom. It's never a routine with Chris, never a formula. He takes the time to get to know all of his couples, and works with them to design the ceremony exactly as they have envisioned it. The result is a moving, personal experience that each couple will cherish in their memories. He's a pleasure to work with as a dj, always ready and happy to go over the ceremony with us, so that we know the proper music cues and sound levels, and can help him create a seamless event. If you want a ceremony especially tailored to your lifetime dream, look no further than Chris of Your Custom Ceremony.
Chris is a pleasure to work with. The depth that he goes to get to know each couple and their story really shows in the very personal and warm ceremonies he performs. I give him 5 stars for his ceremonies. They engage and touch all who attend your big day.
"We see a lot of wedding officiants, but Chaplain Chris and Your Custom Ceremony impressed us. He was engaging, funny, but still very professional. The way he talked about the bride and groom we thought that he was a friend of the family, but it turned out he'd only known them a few weeks. Chaplain Chris really gets to know his couples and that makes for a great ceremony"
