Took more than five attempts just to receive a quote; reached out to main singer who then after two attempts put me in contact with the DJ who handles the contracts. Another 2-3 attempts just to receive a quote which was outrageous compared to other bands in the same area. After attempting to negotiate, in which I was told he would “talk” with the band, 2.5 weeks goes by and I receive an outlandish email just to basically tell me “no” and that they’d rather take on local gigs bc that means they don’t have to travel and can pick up additional gigs during the weekend. They attempted to tell me that another client was actively trying to book the band for the same weekend; essentially telling me that I carry 0 value and just because I reached out to them first over a month ago, that they would consider consider booking the local couple instead Just be honest from the get go! And no I was not about to pay them a ridiculous amount of money just to compensate their “loss of gigs”.
