Wilder Mansion is a historic wedding venue located in Elmhurst, Illinois, just 30 minutes outside of Chicago. Built in 1868, this mansion has been hosting special celebrations since December 2008. Featuring over 9,000 square feet of elegant event space, the building offers a spacious, romantic setting for any occasion. Facilities and Capacity

When celebrating your big day at Wilder Mansion, you can celebrate with up to 250 loved ones. You have the option of renting out the entire mansion for a completely private event or you are invited to select specific rooms for your wedding. The property consists of four ballrooms to choose from. On the building’s first floor is the Wilder Room and Wadhams Room. Connecting these two event spaces is the White Birch Lounge which is ideal for cocktail hours. On the second level, you will find the King room, the Elm room, and the Prairie room. Upstairs there is also a get-ready room which can be used for pre-celebration preparations.

This full-service venue offers a variety of thoughtful services and amenities. For assistance with your celebration’s highlights and details, the experienced team can help with event planning. On the big day, they will be there to set up your chosen event space. Tables and chairs of various shapes and sizes will be provided for all occasions. For all of your entertainment needs, the building is complete with audio and visual equipment. To simplify your planning process, the venue’s team has curated a list of preferred vendors including catering services.

Other Facilities

In addition to the main building, Wilder Mansion also offers Wilder Park Formal Garden for intimate ceremonies of up to 130 guests. It’s surrounded by beautiful flowers, an herb garden, and a stone walkway. There’s also the Victorian-era-inspired Diana Nicholas Gardens perfect for an outdoor cocktail hour. It features granite paths, rose and boxwood gardens, and evergreen and magnolia trees.

History

This restored mansion, previously titled White Birch, was originally a home for Seth Wadhams and built in 1868. Through the years it was tended to by some of Elmhurst's most prominent families, including the King and Wilder families. In 1921 it was acquired by the Park District.
