Elegance at an Affordable Price
The Wilder Mansion team and Meagan went above and beyond to make our wedding spectacular! The location was perfect for us because we had a lot of people fly into Ohare and this was so close! Meagan was so nice about responding to my emails and was so patient with all of our questions. The building itself is gorgeous and the grounds make it easy to get great photos without having to go far away from the building. The venue is partnered with the park district and made it so affordable, especially with our great two onsite coordinators that helped keep everything on schedule and set up our centerpieces and displays as well. We’re so happy we got married at Wilder Mansion and can’t recommend it enough!Wilder Mansion's reply:

I cannot say enough AMAZING things about this place!!! Megan and her staff were so helpful with everything. The staff did an AMAZING job decorating the mansion with all of the decor, it was set up so beautifully!!! Megan answered all of our questions promptly and gave us recommendations for caterer, dj, florist, etc. They made our wedding day go so smoothly. Wilder Mansion was the PERFECT venue for our wedding. In regards to the beauty of the venue, all that needs to be said is this: we had no less than 7 other wedding/quinceañera/homecoming parties trying to take pictures at the same time as us (and we were able to kindly ask them to leave as we had the property rented - it is normally public).
The sunken garden is stunning. Unfortunately, we had a storm brewing all day and had to make the call to move the ceremony inside. The staff pivoted instantly and got everything ready without any difficulty - and we were still able to make it gorgeous.
We worked almost exclusively with Meagan leading up to the event. She is professional, knowledgeable, quick, and, most importantly, an ABSOLUTE JOY to work with. We met Hannah very close to the wedding and I found out she would be the lead on the day instead of Meagan. I got a little worried, but that was completely unwarranted. Hannah absolutely killed it that day. When my now husband was performing his butt off to Defying Gravity, I ran to her with no warning to try and get a broom for him to raise at the end. Not only did she go run (literally) and find one, she did so with so much joy and enthusiasm that I felt so special.
In short, if you’re considering using Wilder Mansion for your wedding, look no further. The value is TOP NOTCH, the service is beyond professional, and the visuals are STUNNING.Wilder Mansion's reply:

Wilder Mansion was truly the most perfect wedding venue for us!! The whole team was incredibly helpful throughout the planning process, Meagan and Peg allowed us to visit the mansion on multiple occasions to figure out decor, seating arrangements etc. They set up all of the decor you drop off which is a HUGE help and are there throughout the night to make sure everything runs smoothly. They recommended multiple vendors to us which was incredibly helpful as it is a unique venue. There is also a garden adjacent to the venue that can be reserved for gorgeous photos. I am so grateful to have found such a beautiful place for our reception that felt intimate and elegant!!! -

Wilder Mansion was everything we hoped for and more! The venue is absolutely beautiful, both inside and out. The elegant rooms and charming historic details created the perfect atmosphere, and the landscaped grounds were stunning for photos. Our guests loved the space, and we received so many compliments. The staff was incredible—Meagan and Peg were especially amazing to work with. They were friendly, organized, and made the entire process smooth and stress-free. From planning to the big day, everything went off without a hitch. We’re so grateful we chose Wilder Mansion. It truly made our day unforgettable. Highly recommend! -

From our initial visit, we knew that this was the perfect venue for us. We had our first look in the conservatory, our ceremony in the garden, and our reception in the mansion itself. Each part of the venue is stunning and filled with character. But even more incredible than the venue itself is the team at Wilder! Meagan and Heather were truly outstanding and great to work with! Throughout the entire planning process they were patient, kind, and helped bring our vision to life. They truly went the extra mile to ensure that we had the best wedding day ever. We had a Ball!
I cannot say enough about Wilder Mansion and the incredible staff. From the very beginning, they were extremely communicative and spent hours with my mother and I, showing us around the property and discussing minute details. My wedding was a dream come true. WOW. Out of all of the vendors we worked with throughout our wedding journey, Wilder Mansion was hands down the best. Our main contact person was Meagan and she was lovely; very quick to respond, clear and the most kind. The days leading up to our wedding was so stress free and we were so confident we made the right decision going with them. We were late to our decor drop off and Meagan was so understanding. Our rehearsal was the day before with Peg and it went very smooth even with how many other things she had on her plate. Heather S., Heather U., and Janice helped us set up on the day of the event and they were truly the icing on top of the cake. They made for a perfect evening; helped with set up, tear down and were the most beautiful kind souls I have ever met.
The venue itself is so beautiful that you don't need much decor. We had our ceremony in the gardens and the flowers were in full bloom and so well kept.

Wilder Mansion was perfect for our wedding of 90 guests. It had everything we envisioned and more, including a gorgeous space for an outdoor ceremony, a bridal suite, and a gorgeous reception space. To top it all off, it is incredibly affordable. Meagan was our main contact and she was very accessible and accommodating to all our needs and offered us support in choosing vendors. Additionally, Meagan and the Wilder Mansion staff act as day-of coordinators ,taking out the need for us to hire one. Everything about the Wilder Mansion is amazing-- from the venue itself to the staff, my husband and I are so happy we chose it for our wedding! Everyone at the Wilder Mansion was super easy to work with, made the whole planning experience extremely simple, and were amazing the day of our wedding! We hosted our wedding at the Wilder Mansion in October, and it was absolutely perfect! The venue is gorgeous and historical, with perfectly-kept grounds. Everything was perfect from start to finish! They had excellent communication the entire process, which was especially helpful since we had to postpone due to covid. Our main point of contact was Meagan and we are just so grateful to her and really every other staff member! We could tell that Meagan truly cared about our wedding. She helped us with literally anything we needed and never made us feel like a burden for asking for help. She really went above and beyond what I've seen other venues do. Her kindness and positive attitude really made a difference while we were setting everything up. She is probably the most organized and hard working person I've ever met. Without her there is no way our wedding would have been as perfect as it was. It's also just such a beautiful space! The mansion itself has so many beautiful ornate details, which they maintain very well. They whole space is breathtaking and our guests were raving about the venue weeks after the wedding! Unique Venue
The minute I saw the mansion I knew it was perfect for our brunch wedding. The staff at the mansion, Megan and Peggy, we incredible to work with. I was able to call and book appointments to see the mansion whenever I needed it. I was always in the loop with Covid protocols. The day of the wedding was perfect. Megan and Peggy were for the entire wedding helping with decor, guests and making sure the day went smoothly. Our guests were blown away with the beauty of the venue. I know I will be back for another event soon. I highly highly recommend this place. The price is right and includes so much!
*We also purchased a brick outside of the mansion to ensure the mansion is always apart of our lives. We can't wait to visit again soon!Wilder Mansion's reply:

Amazing from Start to Finish
Being a Covid Bride has been nothing but an emotional roller coaster but Wilder Mansion made it easy to plan a safe and small wedding and ceremony. Both Peg and Meagan were wonderful- incredibly responsive and helpful prior to our wedding and day of. We were able to have the entire space for our special day and separate rooms allowed for different spaces, a welcome area, a ceremony area, bridal suite, and a small dessert area. Everyone felt safe and that there was plenty of room to keep distance from other guests. We did group photos in the back of the mansion as well as the greenhouse for some pictures perfect portraits. I highly recommend Wilder Mansion as everything was perfect and an amazing venue to host a weddingWilder Mansion's reply:

Meagan Dovidio and her staff at Wilder Mansion are some of the best around Chicago. This venue had everything we were looking for-beautiful outdoor ceremony space, eloquent indoor reception space, and centrally located. They work extremely well with several vendors throughout Chicagoland and we were so happy to hear how much vendors raved about the team at Wilder; it made the planning process a breeze! The grounds were exceptionally maintained and the venue itself is pristine-minimal decorations needed. Despite having to change our date in light of COVID, and move forward with a smaller wedding with additional precautions, Meagan ensured that our day would be everything we wanted. We can't say enough good things about Wilder and with how stressful 2020 has become, we were thankful to have worked with Meagan through it all.Wilder Mansion's reply:

An amazing experience start to finish!
Our wedding at Wilder (6/15/19) was such an amazing experience! Throughout the planning process, the staff was incredibly responsive, helpful, and flexible -- we asked A LOT of questions about details both major and minor, and we always received quick, clear answers. Wilder is a remarkable value -- affordable base costs and endlessly customizable and upgradable depending on your budget. Their were no hidden fees or surprises, and the staff was always transparent about charges. The venue is gorgeous, so if you decide to pass on lighting and draping or save money on florals, the space really speaks for itself -- both the mansion and the garden are gorgeous, even unadorned.
Another issue for us was that the overwhelming majority of our wedding guests were coming from out of town -- Elmhurst is easily accessible from O'Hare and there are a several affordable hotels in the area that offer shuttles.
As a reception venue, the mansion is unconventional, but so many of guests still rave about how unique and memorable of an experience our wedding was. The reception unfolds over two floors, so there's lots of movement throughout the evening, which we found to be exciting. Be sure to plan accordingly when making your itinerary for the day though, as it takes a lot of time to move guests from floor to floor. We also had loads of questions for the staff about the logistics of the day itself, but they have a ton of experience with their unique layout, so just be vocal about your concerns and they'll have a plan to address it.
On the day itself, we had a 150 guests and the space felt cozy, but not crowded, especially the dancefloor. We had a rowdy gaggle of guests who danced the whole night and the room for dancing, though it appears small, was a perfect size for the party.
Our other big concern with the venue was the outdoor / indoor space for the ceremony. It rained on our wedding day and we were really worried about having to move everything inside at the last moment, but ultimately decided to risk the rain. Even though it rained periodically throughout the afternoon, Peg, Meagan, and Heather were absolute champs, helping us with umbrellas and moving people/flowers/equipment/decorations to stay out of the rain. We really can't overstate how helpful they were the day of -- we were doing a lot of the planning ourselves, so it was such a relief to be able to count on them for their assistance. If you're concerned about the outdoor ceremony venue and rain, don't be -- the indoor space, while beautiful for the reception, was a nonstarter for us in terms of moving the ceremony indoors, and we're so glad we decided to stay outside. As a bonus, the summer greens of the venue *really* pop after the rain, so we got some amazing pictures as a consolation for getting a little wet.

Wilder Mansion was our perfect dream venue. Honestly, from start to finish, the staff and everyone you communicate is so wonder and works so hard to put your mind at ease. I can’t tell you the number of times I emailed the rental coordinator a novel full of questions big and small, and she always wrote back same day (or very quickly the next day) with sweet answers to everything. I never once felt that I was annoying anyone there.
The venue itself is stunning – you can’t tape anything to the walls or use confetti or anything like that, but why would you want to when the mansion has such beauty and charm on its own? (Plus, hey, less money!). I’ll admit, I was a little unsure about the two floor layout (main floor for cocktails and the reception, top floor for dinner), and even stressed about it leading up to the wedding (including stressing about having 2 tables set in a smaller adjoining room separate from the main room)…. But I absolutely didn’t need to. The whole event flowed PERFECTLY, and the tables really aren’t that separate at all. We only had around 66 people total at our wedding and the mansion definitely felt like it was the perfect size for us (which I was also concerned about since it holds many, many more people than that!). Trust the space and the venue, it really does end up showing off for you and your guests.
All in all, this venue and its staff are the best. I had slight doubts but they were totally unfounded, and everyone said that our wedding was among the most beautiful we’ve seen… and all credit for that honestly goes to the Wilder staff and our caterers, because we certainly didn’t do anything to dress up the place. 😊
Also bonus, you get 2 on-site coordinators for the day of that will help you set things up (placecards, table numbers, card boxes, etc). They even helped me with my greenery table décor when the florist had to come by before the caterers!

We love the Wilder Mansion!
My husband and I knew the Wilder Mansion was right for us. We had a Harry Potter themed wedding, and the aesthetic of the mansion fit the theme perfectly.
Meghan and Heather were wonderful to work with. Both ladies were rooting for our vision to be fulfilled; Heather even wore a Harry Potter outfit during the wedding! We got to have the entire mansion to ourselves, which was something we both wanted in a venue.
The Wilder Mansion staff were amazing at decorating to make our vision come to life. They were determined to make us happy! They listened to what we wanted, took notes, and we could tell they were listening to what we wanted. We also will get our own engraved brick in the park to represent our wedding day. We cannot thank the staff from the Elmhurst Park District and Wilder Mansion enough - they were a true dream team! From the second we had our first tour, all the way through our wedding day, the entire Wilder Mansion team was flexible, responsive, easy to talk to, and incredibly kind. We used the mansion instead of the garden. Our plan was to use the house to get ready and then have our photos and ceremony outside. Well...the weather didn't like that idea. We ended up having to move our ceremony inside. somehow they managed to fit 100 chairs and all of our friends and family into the room, and it was BEAUTIFUL. A special thank you to Peg, Heather and Meagan - all of whom were an important piece to our day.
