Dara does not have or employ the caring or discretion needed for such a position that can be intricately involved in your personal events/life, such as a wedding. I stated specific boundaries that Dara crossed and betrayed, causing turmoil and fallout in my innermost personal relationships. This is unacceptable, unprofessional, deceitful, meddling, and unheard of to purposely cause drama and heartache in a client's life. She repeated things on both sides that caused damage to our relationships. She not only forwarded information via email but also called members of our family to “discuss her concerns” instead of going through us – the bride and groom, and blamed it on us. She repeatedly talked to us like children and tried to order members of my family around. Dara's actions of betraying my requests and trust damaged newly formed familial ties, caused irreparable harm to those relationships, and hurt my loved ones. I felt it necessary to be clear (although blunt) that I would post a negative review online if Dara were cross the clearly stated boundaries of who was to plan what in my wedding. Dara told me that my message was "unsettling and threatening" when what I wrote was short and to the point. Dara had no reason to fear unless she was doing what I asked her expressly not to do. Dara not only repeated things told her in confidence on both sides, creating further drama and conflict, she explicitly betrayed and ignored my requests for discretion that damaged newly forming familial ties and caused irreparable harm to those relationships, and hurt and embarrassed my loved ones. We ended up firing her with professional letter in May before our August wedding and she still asked for more money repeatedly even though it hadn’t reached that payment portion of our contract. Dara is knowledgeable and professional and a true class act. She cares about her brides and treated me with the utmost respect!! You will not be disappointed in booking her. An update to my previous review: This review is written on 07/20/17 after my wedding. Quindara Brown-Jenkins left me dissatisfied and wholly disappointed in my wedding day. I procured several items, candelabras,chuppah, signs, welcome baskets, bathroom Baskets ,easels to name a few to be displayed at my wedding. The planner never displayed any of these items which she was being paid to do and showed herself inept. She was also noted as being rude and unprofessional by several guests most of which were out of towners. My ceremony and cocktail hour was barren and completely unacceptable considering she was provided with the inventory and inventory list to make it happen. I cried after thousands of dollars spent on items which were not used , three of which were found to be broken at the end of the night and never unpacked from the loaded van provided to her. I not only spent a significant amount of money on items but a significant amount of time on items that I handcrafted myself. My damage far exceed the amount of money given to her. When I expressed dissatisfaction with her services she became passive aggressive and stated she would give me a full refund in 30 days and we severed our professional relationship and she proceeded to leave the venue early and without completing the tasks she was contracted for.I requested the refund in 10 days and the following day sent her an email reiterating the facts and the conversation had with her . Her response was to send an invoice when she had already agreed to refund me. She had been paid far too much for nothing, she speaks eloquently and appeared to know the business but dropped the ball and did not perform as a professional should. My experience completely dampened my wedding day and I pray that you do your due diligence before hiring her.

I hired Urban LUXE Weddings for wedding planning services in April 2016. I met Dara Jenkins in-person to discuss wedding planning. She seemed knowledgeable and eager to support my needs. I hired her shortly after. It only took ~4 months to see the cracks in her work. She seemed to have things in place early on but when it was time to get down to business she could not deliver. She was working closely with my venue coordinator and after mixed messages from both, I found out that she was lying to me and the coordinator to cause issues to then "solve them" in order to make herself look better. Once these issues started to come to the surface, I communicated with her that I was noticing some issues and I needed her to communicate with me more clearly. She resisted and informed me that this was not the way she worked. Her disrespect and inflexibility was very apparent and I wish I fired her then. I gave her an opportunity to "do it her way" as she suggested. Instead she continued to create issues by being unreachable by my vendors and pushing deadlines on items that were detrimental to the success of my wedding, like the timeline. About 3 weeks before my wedding, I had not received the timeline for the day of. I informed her I was going to do it myself because I had other vendors that were anxiously awaiting the details. She told me that I had overstepped my boundaries. At that point, I ended our contract. I had to take my wedding back from someone that was unable to deliver on the items that needed to be done. She confirmed that I would receive a partial refund within 30 days. As of today, 1/24/2016, over 90 days later, she has not refunded me any funds. I have reached out to her on numerous occasions, each are met with more lies. I am unable to fill my time or life with her lies any longer and do not expect to receive any refund from her at this point. If you are a bride, do not book this vendor, save your money and time.
