We had our wedding early October, and we had a great experience working with Tom & Heather and their team. They were so thoughtful and nice and helped us feel at ease the whole day. After getting back the pictures from the day, they did such an incredible job, and the photos are beautiful. Tom was so thoughtful and relax and captured all the photos and moments that we asked him for and many more that we didn’t even know were going to happen! We added the video package and some of those clips are so great! I love the interactive display they created for us to help us relive the day and small special moments over and over again. We were ready to give Tom a 5 star review even before we received the photos! The incredible photos that perfectly captured the moment were the cherry on top. It absolutely poured at our wedding and Tom was integral in making us feel at ease and natural in front of a camera (we don't ever get photos taken). The photos took our breath away. Our friends said they were the best wedding photos they'd ever seen. They really showed how much fun we had and how in love we are. Tom was the best vendor we booked for our wedding and we would recommend him to everyone.

Tom was such a pleasure to work with. He is extremely talented, kind and was able to exceed all our expectation as our wedding photographer. From the moment we first met for our engagement photos we knew we made the right choice by hiring him. He gives great direction but is never pushy and made us feel extremely comfortable (even though my husband and I are not normally comfortable in front of the camera). One of the best decisions I made on my wedding day (aside from marrying my husband, of course) was getting to work with Tom Schelling Photography.

I remember searching for wedding photographers online and feeling exhausted as they all seemed to blend together. When I saw Tom's websites, I immediately perked up – I loved how his photos truly captured who these couples were, whether in small intimate moments or pictures which captured their sense of humor. I was so excited when Tom said he was available to shoot our wedding!

Not only is Tom Schelling an incredible photographer, but he has a truly calming energy. In the lead-up to our wedding, we had numerous conversations where he helped with everything from advice on how to find small moments amidst the hecticness, to helping us plan a schedule for the day itself, to working alongside our other vendors to make sure we had enough time for all photos before the wedding started without ever feeling rushed. Tom was always available to answer all of my last-minute questions, and it truly was a joy to have those initial planning meetings with him.

On the day of our wedding, Tom and his incredible wife Heather arrived early, and from the beginning thought of so many photo ideas beyond what we had planned before. Tom and Heather have such a beautiful eye for detail. I LOVE our photos. They made our family and friends truly relaxed, cracked jokes, and added to the overall happiness of the day. Our pictures truly capture our wedding and our family and our friends in moments big and small throughout the day. Tom would snatch us away throughout the night to sneak off and take photos which took full advantage of the environment. One photo comes to mind: my husband and I on the rooftop of our venue in downtown New York with the pink sun setting behind us.
That shot– and a hundred more which felt off-the-cuff– were planned beforehand. I feel so fortunate because those ended up being some of my favorite of the night.

I don’t know where to start with him. Having a wedding while also being in the events industry for work made choosing Tom as our photographer an easy yes. It was easily the best decision we made for vendors. He is someone I will confidently send our clients to for the rest of time. I first searched through every bridal group looking for a photographer that “made photos look like they were the day on pause, as if they could move in an instance” that meant clear, clean, and real to me! I didn’t want over edits even though I do love everyone’s unique stylistic choices. As far as his craft goes, he does just that! Everything felt so organic and real with him. The photos capture all the happy, And all the special that the day brought. We had been married over a year already on our wedding day, so we feared that it wouldn’t feel as special. But Tom helped us to ease that fear! Honestly, I’m in awe of him. He made everything so special. From the very first meeting, everything he did was intentional and thoughtful. He surprised us, romanticized our wedding and wedding planning experience. He fit seamlessly in the day with us, which was so important to us from the very beginning. I don’t want to ruin all the little surprises that he tucks into your experience with him, but just know that you can absolutely trust him. He will enhance that day and your experience. He is an expert and is 100% worth every dollar spent to have him there. He will feel like a friend attending, while also bringing his expertise with him. My husband and I don’t love being in front of the camera, but we never felt like we were with Tom. The pictures made us both laugh hysterically and cry hysterically. Okay now the sad part… our doggy was at our wedding, but she was sick with congestive heart failure. She had the best day, and it actually was her last really good day. Tom captured her in her prime. By the time the pictures arrived, we had lost her. She was our best pal. The pictures Tom took are our favorite. They healed our broken hearts a little bit. Just trust him. He was the BEST pick.

My husband and I are incredibly grateful to have worked with Tom for our wedding. Choosing vendors is always a challenging process but right from our initial conversation, we knew we were in great hands. Even before we hired him, Tom took the time to walk us through his process and discuss our vision to ensure we were mutually aligned. There was never any pressure and we just clicked immediately which is how you should feel when selecting the people to be around you on your big day.

While the initial zoom calls were helpful - it was only the beginning as far as building a working relationship was concerned. Our engagement shoot was so much fun and gave us the chance to really get to know one another. Just like Tom had told us, having the chance to get to know your photographer beforehand helped alleviate the inevitable nerves on the big day. On top of all that, the pictures came out incredible and we couldn’t have been more excited imagining how beautiful they would be from the main event.

Tom is a true professional and his calm demeanor put us at ease. He felt more like a friend who truly wanted to help guide us along each step of the way. He made himself available whenever we had a question or concern and constantly provided us with incredibly valuable insights drawn from a clear wealth of knowledge and experience. Tom is proactive and sent so much material to help with planning & logistics – something that every bride can and will appreciate during the hectic months before!

On the day of our wedding, Tom was absolutely amazing. He provided that overall sense of comfort, having built such a strong relationship already. All of which inevitably translated into a much more natural environment that led to amazing pictures and video. He’s a true artist in every sense of the word and beautifully captured each element of the day. As we look back on the pictures now (of which we received in a very timely manner!), we truly feel transported back to the day and that the pictures showcase and depict the feelings of these incredibly special moments. Our friends and family shared all the same levels of comfort with Tom and are still complimenting us on not only our selection for a perfect photographer but on how gorgeous the pictures turned out. We really can’t say enough good things about Tom (+ Heather and Amara who we’d be remiss not to mention how great they were as well!!) and would do it all over again in a heartbeat!

We have no shortage of amazing things to say about Tom. From the moment we saw his photos online and on Instagram, he immediately stood out to us. You can feel the emotion and passion in his photos. When we reached for more information after coming across his work, he asked to schedule time to get to know us. We did, and Tom spent an entire hour with us on Zoom (without any commitment to hire him) and invited us to ask him questions and he asked some of us too – how we met, what we loved about each other, what will be most important to us on our wedding day. Tom also stressed that he wanted to make sure that we liked each other’s vibes because we would be spending A LOT of time together on the day of our wedding. For anyone booking a photographer for their wedding, you do spend a lot of time with your photographer, so – Tom was right – it is SO crucial that you like your photographer, and they like you. I can tell you that we didn’t just like Tom… we loved him! By the end of the journey leading up to our wedding, he and Heather felt like old friends.

Now for two people who (1) have never had professional photos taken of them, (2) didn’t want to do hours and hours of ‘posing’ and (3) wanted to maximize time with each other and friends and family – I promise you that Tom and Heather make that all possible. They are a calming presence, yet also so quick and efficient. They give helpful direction, but don’t make you feel awkward. They are your biggest cheerleaders and supporters – making you feel beautiful/handsome and most importantly comfortable! After a short session of more traditional portraits (at our request) and family and friend photos, Tom and Heather worked their magic – they allowed us to enjoy every moment of our wedding day and captured the most amazing photos and video (more often than not without us noticing). Tom thought of everything! He was so prepared, despite never stepping foot at our venue, and captured the day perfectly.

From the lead-up, to the day of, and then all the way past the wedding (delivering the most amazing photos and beautiful wedding album) Tom was there for us. It was amazing getting to know Tom in the lead-up during our phone and Zoom calls as well as during our engagement session (which was really helpful) – even if you don’t think of yourselves as ‘engagement photos’ people, you NEED to do it! The photos came out great, and it was a really cool opportunity for us to get comfortable in front of a professional camera and with Tom. Engagement sessions also help develop that trust – if you’re unsure or insecure about something, you learn that Tom 1000% has your back. It allowed us to just have fun the day of our wedding and not stress about how we look or how the photos will come out. It also really helped the day of our wedding feel fun and light, and it was really cool to see Tom and Heather in their element – they got along so well with us, with our wedding party and our family – and the pictures came out SO beautiful!

If you’re looking for someone to trust with timeless memories, choose Tom. I promise you won’t regret it. He and Heather will make you feel like the best versions of yourselves – and you will look and feel amazing through it all!
