We CANNOT possibly say enough wonderful things about Uptown Social. To say they made our day absolutely perfect would be an understatement.

Jeremy and Judy were phenomenally helpful and beyond kind. It felt like they were just as excited about our wedding as we were! They guided us through all the steps of the planning process and they made our wedding day so easy and enjoyable. We didn’t have to worry about a single thing!

Kirsten and her team worked so hard to make our ceremony and reception flip look amazing and took care of our guests the entire time!

Besides the fact that the venue is absolutely gorgeous & our guests had never seen anything like it, Uptown stands out above other venues for the way they treat the guests that walk through that door.

There aren’t enough “thank you”s in the world to cover how we feel! You made our day truly amazing!

My wedding day was an absolute dream and it was all because of The Uptown Center! Joy and her entire team were absolutely amazing! They were organized, detail-oriented, creative, helpful, responsive, and kind during the entire wedding planning process and on our wedding day. Her entire team made sure my wedding day and all the days leading up to it were absolutely perfect from start to finish. I live in Texas and Joy made the wedding planning process so easy and organized for me even though I was thousands of miles away! During the initial walk through of the venue I just knew that this was my dream-wedding venue. The venue is just so unique! It has such breathtaking historic charm that made me fall in love with it immediately. There is truly no other wedding venue like it in the area! Not only does it have a gorgeous ballroom, but also it has three beautiful bridal suites and a very large bar and cocktail lounge. There are also many beautiful backdrops for pictures inside and outside of the venue. My entire bridal party and all of my guests had nothing but wonderful things to say about the venue! The food and catering staff were also wonderful! We had so many different options to choose from for our wedding day menu and the food turned out delicious. This venue is a triple threat and has everything a bride could ever want– helpful and detail-oriented staff, wonderful food, and a uniquely beautiful ballroom. I cannot thank The Uptown Center enough for giving my husband and I our dream New Year's Eve wedding! We will definitely be recommending this venue to anyone planning their future wedding!! It is absolutely the best place to get married!

Where do I even start with this!? We had our wedding ceremony and reception with the Uptown Center in July and it far exceeded every expectation we could have ever had! When I first toured the venue I was with my mom and sister, as soon as we walked in we just knew it was "the one". It's absolutely beautiful and is completely different than any other venue in the area. Joy and Salena were beyond accommodating, from the venue tours to the day of, they were there to help us with whatever we needed. We had so many of our guests telling us that the food was some of the best food that they had ever had at a wedding, which was something that was so important to us, and that the bar had a large variety of choices. They also told us how beautiful and unique the venue was and how they had never seen anything like it! I seriously can not thank you all enough for making our wedding day the most amazing day of our lives thus far! I feel like I could go on and on about how amazing everything was, but we could seriously be here all day. Having our wedding here was one of the best wedding related decisions that we made!

Joy went above and beyond to help us make our special day exactly how we wanted it. She worked with us to find the perfect combination in a price range we were comfortable with. The venue is absolutely breathtaking!

The Uptown Center is a beautiful venue. Its architecture has character and beauty. From original organ pipes to the vaulted ceilings, the space feels authentic. In the beginning, we were emailing three different people and that lead to some frustration because we would have to repeat ourselves. However, once we were only speaking to Jeremy, everything fell into place. He is absolutely amazing at his job and made sure everything was what we wanted. On our wedding day, there was a parade that no one was unaware of until the day before. Jeremey contacted us and explained how he already talked to the city and all of our vendors. He came up with a plan to ensure that our day was not ruined by the parade and the subsequent road closures. In the end, it all worked out and our guests enjoyed watching the parade before our ceremony. Jeremy and the rest of the staff stayed throughout the night and told us to talk to them if we needed anything. The only other minor complaint was that the staff or the catering staff, we aren’t really sure who, started to clean up the tables early. It made some of our guests uneasy. Overall, the Uptown Center and Jeremy were amazing, and we would highly recommend!

The venue was absolutely beautiful and the staff was amazing! Our family and friends enjoyed themselves and always inquire about how we found the Uptown Center. Now they also plan to have future events there as well!

At first, Uptown social was a dream to work with. Judy and Jeremy were so responsive and truly went above and beyond, but things went south.

At contract signing, we negotiated out of paying the 3% CC fee in exchange for making a very large deposit, and had the contract amended.

When paying the final bill, Jeremy said they would be charging us the fee. We reminded him of our agreement but he lashed out on us and told us that if it were true, it would be in the contract. All of this was over a fee of ~$130.

When we got home, we found the amended contract and sent it to him. Instead of apologizing, he refused to admit the mistake offered to personally pay the fee. It was so unprofessional and bewildering.

Wedding day
- During contract signing, we negotiated the bridal suite rate to a lesser amount because we only needed it during the reception hours, not the entire day. We were never told that we would be locked out after dropping off our bags & we never would have agreed to that. Only the managers could let us in, and since i didn’t want to waste time tracking them down, I couldn’t use the private bathroom, change into my reception dress, or just have a few moments of peace with my husband to soak in the day..
- The dance floor was live-streamed to play in the cocktail bar area, & we were supposed to get a copy of it. When we asked about it later, Jeremy told us that it was not recorded because we had a videographer. (the videographer was my photographer’s 11 year old son)
- We were told that the decor items we brought in would be boxed up for us to take the next morning. When we arrived, nothing was boxed up. Admittedly, we had A LOT of candles so it would have been a big undertaking for them, but I wish he would have told us that they couldn’t, so that we could have brought more family and friends to help us.

Other situations
- we were not told that there would be a charge for kids until the final bill. Jeremy told us kids aged 7+ would be charged $19, (half the adult price) which made no sense when there is a $8 soda package for adults. Judy later corrected this to being for kids 13+
- We had it in writing that the sound engineer fee for a live band was $400. Later, that was changed to $750 because our band was 7 pieces. Jeremy tried getting us to pay the $750 but we refused
- Jeremy told us that if we wanted our vendors to set up earlier than one hour prior to start time, we would have to pay a large hourly manager fee. It felt like a cash-grab, but fortunately Judy said she would be there in the morning and they could come whenever.
- We didn’t find out that they planned to serve drinks in disposable plastic until 2 months before our wedding. We had to scramble to rent glassware

Despite this, we had the best night of our lives and our wedding was everything I could ever dream of and more. Uptown Social is SUCH a beautiful venue and it has such great potential. It makes me so sad that our experience with them had to end like this. But I want to end this on a high note.

The positives
- Judy is one of the sweetest and most caring people I have ever met. She felt like a second mom, and I will never forget her compassion and kindness
- The venue is stunning, and the improvements kept coming. It is truly a hidden gem
- The beverage packages are very reasonably priced, and the signature drink they made for us was delicious (despite a complicated recipe!)
- The lighting/uplighting was spectacular and fully customizable
