"You'll feel like a dazzling Scarlett being swept away by her handsome Rhett when you host your wedding at The Sepulveda Home, a Louisiana French Colonial private residence that evokes the romance of Gone With the Wind-era Southern hospitality. Perched on a hill with a panoramic view of the Port of Los Angeles and World Cruise Center, the historic San Pedro home is offered by a mother-daughter team as an intimate venue for bridal showers, ceremonies and receptions.
The unique abode was built in 1929 for a newlywed couple. When the bride asked her architect father to design a home that would reflect her groom's Southern roots, he created blueprints for this antebellum-style residence, now brimming with 80 years of collected treasures.
As you sit in a rocking chair on the 40-foot front porch, enclosed by gracious columns and cooled by ceiling fans, it's easy to imagine yourself a latter-day Southern belle transported to a gentler, bygone era. The nostalgic fantasy continues in your private dressing room, appointed with a Louis XIV mirrored armoire, antique-style fainting couch and turn-of-the-century hatboxes. This is truly the perfect spot to put finishing touches on hair and makeup while enjoying time with your bridesmaids. And to enhance that pampered Scarlett O'Hara experience, your on-site assistant will provide you with light refreshments and personal amenities. This is also a wonderful setting for creative photography.
Say your vows on the home's romantic balcony, overlooking the patio below and the twinkling lights of the port beyond. Or, tie the knot in the lush garden amphitheater, graced with hanging chandeliers, a running creek, and towering pepper and magnolia trees draped with Spanish moss. Perfumed by grapevines climbing an outdoor bar and warmed by heat lamps, the space features a gourmet espresso machine station for European-style beverage service and an area for dancing beneath the stars.
While your guests sip warm cappuccinos or cool mint juleps, you can revel in the glow of a perfectly coordinated affair and start anticipating your honeymoon—perhaps a cruise departing from the nearby port. It can be arranged by the same attentive team that recommended local wedding resources, assisted you with all details, and made sure your day was stress-free from dreamy beginning to final toast."

Before we even visited the Sepulveda Home in person, we had found it online and thought this place looked way too good to be true. We knew the moment we stepped into the Sepulveda Home that we had finally found the venue we had been hoping to find. The home is absolutely gorgeous – from the jaw dropping original tile work in the bathrooms, to the true to period furnishings and the backyard…. Oh the backyard! Every corner of the home, inside and out, has a secret – a tiny detail, a perfectly placed treasure from the past that you don’t immediately notice – you see it for the first time as you look back on your wedding photos and smile with each new discovery. From the beautifully converted original ‘coach house’ which is now a bar with a deliciously fragrant grapevine covered seating area, to the large gardens and trees, every inch of this house was to die for.Sent on 09/29/2011
The home’s owner, Sara, wedding coordinator extraordinaire, is wonderful and amazingly easy to work with. This is her childhood home, and we were welcomed in like family. The love and attention we received from Sara and Irene is remarkable. This is a family run establishment and everyone went out of their way to make sure that anything and everything was taken care of. Sara is right there by your side, moving you through your day seamlessly, making sure you don’t miss a thing. Although the Sepulveda Home is extremely presentable and fancy - visually the perfect spot to get married - this home doesn’t feel like a “venue” E.g., we felt like we were getting married in the home of our favorite cousin who just happens to own the most amazing piece of property.
Sara works exclusively with Critic’s Choice Catering, and for good reason. Tracy, her staff and most importantly the food, are awesome. Wedding food is generally mediocre, however we have been told repeatedly that this food was the best that anyone has ever had at a wedding. Tracy is very easy to work with and a lot of fun. She went out of her way to take care of a cousin who arrived well past dinner service, and that really meant a lot to me. In lieu of traditional wedding cake, we served bread pudding. Tracy made sure that it was presented and served beautifully.
Our wedding day was perfect and we would not change a thing. Sara, you are amazing!

My husband and I fell in love with this venue the moment we walked past the driveway. It was the perfect balance of feeling intimate (think: a family member's beautiful backyard) while being spacious and artfully decorated (mystical greenery, easy movement flow from ceremony to reception to bar). You can tell that much love and thought went into designing this stunning venue.
We worked with Sara from beginning to end, and she was so caring, knowledgeable, attentive to details, and easy to trust!
Moreover, after seeing many corporate venues who charged extra fees for every little detail, it was such a breath of fresh air to have Sara proactively provide a quote that was inclusive of everything (taxes, fees, etc.) Though seemingly a minor detail, it left quite an impression on me and my husband and indicated to us the values that reflect how Sara and her family approach their clients. We greatly appreciated this!
What an honor to have spent our wedding day at the Sepulveda Home. Sara, thank you, your mom, and your family for everything!

I could not be more willing to write this review for the Sepulveda Home! First of all, we had our wedding reception at the beautiful home last November and it was also a destination wedding for us so I was obviously anxious at first about the planning since I was doing everything site unseen. Our special day was also planned in a matter of 4 months (5 month engagement) so there was that on top of it, too. However, Sara completely put me at ease and thought of EVERYTHING/had so many awesome ideas!! She is amazing!! Our reception turned out absolutely perfect and became everything we dreamed of and more. So many of our friends said it was hands down the best event they have been to and the coolest location (and I agree) :). Also, we decided to book the jazz band through the home and they killed it. Having the jazz band totally completed the ambience and I would highly recommend booking them! They played our requested first dance song "At Last" and it turned out to be so special and beautiful. We also were very happy with the pricing and the catering. As no surprise, so many of our guests said it was the best wedding food they have had and the food also surpassed my hubby's and I's expectations. This bride here had a heaping plate! Overall, everyone was so relaxed since it felt like your family's backyard and since the staff were so welcoming and special. The communication throughout the process was smooth and you'll find Sara taking care of your guests and the bride and groom from start to end. She was even taking polaroids with our camera of our guests throughout the night and giving them home tours and making sure our drinks were replenished ;). You will not regret booking with the Sepulveda Home.
Great location!!! The owner is very nice and I love shooting here!
I have done several weddings at The Sepulveda, it is an awesome venue. There are so many photo ops there that I can't possibly shoot everything I want in one day! It's a gorgeous house and grounds. Do yourself a favor and look into it!
From the moment you arrive until the moment you leave, you feel like you have come home. The welcome is truly genuine. The owners have wonderful personal stories to share about this estate and just about everything in it. They lovingly maintain the home, from the lush landscaping to the details in the bride room. Look no further, this is the place for small a romantic wedding, an intimate garden party, a baby or bridal shower or just a fun 20's theme party. We are excited to be selected as their preferred caterer and look forward to all the wonderful things we will do together.
