About

The Picnic Basket was started in 2002 by a couple of broke college guys, Erik Dailey and Bryan Woody, with a common dream; a dream of opening a successful business that could become an integral part of the community for years to come. What started out as a sandwich shop has blossomed into a one of the premier full service catering companies in the Triangle.

We specialize in Southern American cuisine, but can cater anything to make your special day complete! We love to work with outdoor venues and think Southern chic is all the rage, but will do everything possible to make your special day as you and unique as it can be. Details are everything here!

The Picnic Basket catered the Sunday Farewell Brunch for my daughter’s wedding weekend. I held this event at my home, and The Picnic Basket was able to arrange for a third-party company to put up a suitably-sized tent in my backyard on the Friday before the wedding. They also provided tables and chairs through this same company and made sure that there was suitable supervision for both set up and take down after the event. The food and beverages provided were plentiful and delicious and beautifully and professionally displayed on buffet tables. The servers were presentable, courteous, and helpful. The price was very reasonable for the wonderful quality and quantity provided. I could not have been more pleased and would be happy to employ them again for another event.
