I had gone to multiple dress shops and tried on a lot of different dresses to the point where I was getting worried I would have to ‘settle’ on a dress. The Persnickety Bride was my second to last dress shop and I was highly nervous as I came in that I wouldn’t find what I wanted. Denise and Cecelia had great energy and made me feel at ease almost immediately! After trying on a few dresses that I saw in their online catalog, I talked with Denise about what I was hoping to find and she had one dress in particular she thought I would love by Justin Alexander - and she was right! I went to my next appointment and kept thinking about the dress that Denise found, so back I went to purchase my gown. The quality of the gowns are top notch and they pay attention to the small details. I am so in love with my dress, even after the big day. Denise and the Persnickety Bride team were so wonderful from start to finish. I had been to a few shops before seeing them and was overwhelmed by the options, but Denise's eye, matter of fact attitude, and encyclopedic knowledge of every dress in the store made it easy to find and feel confident in the perfect dress. She seems to know all the designers she carries personally and was able to order some customizations to make my dress exactly what I wanted. I also looved the veil that I got from the store. I am so happy I got my dress at the Persnickety Bride! Denise and her whole team are incredible. Her store is amazing and she only carries the best. Both my sister and I found our dream dresses here. Denise worked with the designer of my dress (Dany Tabet) to get me a custom dress so I could get exactly what I wanted. She even had a trunk show and I was able to meet Dany. Completely a dream come true. I was able to get the dress I envisioned and it was perfect for my wedding day. Can not recommend The Persnickety Bride enough!

The Persnickety Bride has been a dream from start to finish. As a curvier bride, I was definitely intimidated to start wedding dress shopping because of the sizing industry, but Denise and her team completely changed that for me. They were so welcoming, so kind, and honestly made the whole experience fun instead of stressful.

When I went to try on dresses, I ended up finding my dream dress! Their selection is beautiful, thoughtfully curated, and not at all overwhelming. The boutique itself feels homey and personal, which made the experience even more special.

From the very beginning, everyone I worked with went above and beyond. Cecile helped me find my dress, and Emmy guided me when I picked it up and chose my veil—they were both absolutely wonderful. Patient, kind, and genuinely excited for me, they made the process so smooth and enjoyable.

I cannot recommend The Persnickety Bride enough to any bride—whether you’re in Fairfield, New Haven, Putnam County, or even farther away, this is worth the trip. You simply won’t find a better experience than this one!

Denise, Celia and the whole team are the best, and I’m so happy we found this gem in Newtown. You can tell they truly care about each bride. My dress and veil were a dream come true, and from the first appointment to the dress pick up / veil shopping, and meeting the designer Dany Tabet after the wedding, the Persnickety team was wonderful. Denise and her team are top tier! I knew I wanted to go to persnickety since my cousins both went there. They had wonderful experiences and spoke very highly of them. When I arrived I spoke to Denise and her team telling them what I was looking for and they showed me a new Dany Tabet dress and I fell in love! They also picked a veil that looked like it was made for the dress! I highly recommend Denise and her team!

Making my appointment was so easy and the try on appointment was so relaxed. Aeryn really listened to what I wanted and she made great suggestions.
The first dress she gave me to try on was absolutely perfect. I tried a bunch of other dresses on afterwards, but the first one was the winner!

Months later, my mom was having trouble finding her Mother of the Bride dress, so we went back to Persnickety and she found her dress that day!

My dress 100% the most perfect and beautiful article of clothing I will ever own. When originally starting the search, it was very overwhelming to try to figure out what type of dress I would want. We had only gone to one other bridal salon before going to the Persnickety Bride... and it was not a great experience to say the least. But the Persnickety Bride was completely different! Aeryn, Denise's daughter, helped us and she was amazing! She is so knowledgeable and really knows how to hype you up! She actually was the one who picked out the wedding. She recommended it to me when I first got to the store... and I knew it was the one pretty early on. But all of the dresses she tried on were gorgeous! This dress is so unique and so delicately put together. We have never seen anything like it before :) My husband and guests were also was blown away the day of the wedding!!!

Denise and her team at Persnickety made my dress buying experience easy, fun and so memorable. I was not looking forward to this process, but Denise put my worries behind me and made me feel comfortable, but still so special. She listened to what I was saying and actually picked out my dream dress for me after trying on two dresses! I'm so thankful for them!

After visiting a few bridal shops before my wedding, I came across Persnickety as I only lived a town over. I figured I would check it out. I was easily able to book an appointment and I was given a link over email that took me to their online dress selection where I could browse styles that I liked and I was asked to “heart” the ones I wanted to try on. When it was time for my appointment, all the dresses I liked were out and ready for me to try! Denise, who is the owner, made trying dresses on so much fun. She wasn’t pushy, she knew exactly what I was looking for based on my interests and she was so helpful in my dress search! Another part I loved about Persnickety is their selection of dresses that are unique to them in that there were some smaller designers whom I had never heard of or had ever seen in other boutiques that she carried. I ended up going with a not as well known designer, Dany Tabot, and I can confidently say I found my dream dress at Persnickety Bride! Here’s just a few photos of how beautiful this dress is, the 3D floral was my dream and Denise helped me make my dreams come true!

Also, contacting persnickety was a breeze as Denise texted me on my cell phone. She was constantly updating me about my dress and when it would come and my veil. She really made me feel like I was her only client and it always felt so personal! My mom and mother in law both ended up getting their gowns here as well!
