A loft-style wedding venue in Columbia, Maryland, The Other Barn at Oakland Mills embodies rustic charm and classic ambience. A fully renovated former dairy barn, the venue has been a part of the wedding industry since 1968. Ideal for outdoor ceremonies and receptions, The Other Barn at Oakland Mills' flower-filled courtyard provides the perfect setting for celebrating your union!

Facilities and Capacity
Intimate by nature, The Other Barn at Oakland Mills offers two locations that couples may choose from to host their ceremony and/or reception. The Loft can accommodate up to 175 guests and features wooden, high beam ceilings and a beautiful wood floor. While the Smithy/Tack Room can accommodate up to 65 guests and features glass doors that overlook the idyllic courtyard.

History
The Other Barn at Oakland Mills was acquired in the spring of 1709 by Charles Stevens. Once part of the Owings Dorsey Dairy Farm, the venue is one of the few buildings preserved when Columbia was built.

Location
The Other Barn at Oakland Mills is conveniently located in Howard County. The venue is less than 10 minutes from a number of Columbia's most popular landmarks, such as the Blandair Regional Park and Symphony Woods Park.

Awesome venue and resonably priced!

My wife and I rented the Other Barn as our wedding venue this month (June 2023) and were absolutely THRILLED with how everything turned out! The outdoor courtyard worked great for pictures and our ceremony, and the loft provided a cozy and welcoming atmosphere for cocktail hour and dinner. In addition, the location itself was great for those flying in from out of town - close to BWI, with plenty of hotels within 10 minutes to choose from.
More importantly though, the staff at the Other Barn were very communicative and considerate in the months leading up to the wedding, answering questions in a timely manner, building a custom floor plan for the reception, etc.
And final point - we noticed comments about issues with the A/C when we first looked into the Other Barn. At the time, we were informed that this had been addressed, and we found this to be true on the actual day. The loft was quite comfortable, despite it being an 85 degree day in June.
We had a great experience using the Other Barn for our wedding, and HIGHLY recommend it to anyone looking to tie the knot without breaking the bank!!

I have no complaints about The Other Barn, only good things to say! Susan Azoulay at The Other Barn was extremely helpful and quick to respond to all my questions. Plus the price was very reasonable compared to other venues I was looking at. We had the freedom to hire whatever caterer we wanted which was awesome. They were very accommodating when I wanted to bring different people in to see the venue before the wedding and the day of my wedding went smoothly. I also love how everything looked. It was a perfect day!

The Other Barn

We were so lucky to find this location for our wedding! Brigitta was incredibly helpful and we received so many compliments about how beautiful the wedding was! Couldn’t recommend this location more!

We used the courtyard and the loft for our ceremony and reception respectively and loved the space! We were a bit slow with turning in some of the information (we made a very late decision to use the courtyard), but Susan was very accommodating! The room and ceremony area were all set up by the time the caterer's arrived which was great. Given the location of the venue, were were worried there would be a lot of noise and gawkers, but that wasn't the case at all! It's also one of the cheaper venues to rent in the area which is great for those couples on a budget.

The Other Barn was a great find! You'd never look twice at it from the outside, but it's so big and beautiful inside! I had 170 guests and it was a bit squishy, but there was still plenty of room for 19 guest tables, caterer tables, and a big dance floor! Susan Azoulay, the events coordinator, was a huge help! She helped me with so much, including re-arranging the floor layout to maximize space. There's also a great courtyard right outside- I had my ceremony in it and I loved it! We were able to fit 160 chairs out there and the shade trees kept the sun and heat off the guests. You won't be able to find a better price either. As a bonus, I had my wedding on a Sunday and saved over $1000. I would definitely recommend checking out The Other Barn for your wedding!

This was the first and only venue that my now husband and I physically went to, to look at and we both loved it. We had a HUGE scare 9 days before our wedding. Brigitta called me to inform me the elevator had broken and was too old to get parts for it, and it had to be replaced. There was a lot on concern that it would not be ready in time for our wedding. However the team at The Other Barn work diligently and pulled it off for us. They kept in close contact with me, updating me on the status almost everyday. I could not be anymore grateful for the extra time and money that they put into getting this elevator ready before our day. The elevator was working great and passed inspection so that all of our handicap quests were able to end and everyone had an amazing time. Lots of compliments from the quests of how much they loved the venue. We had an amazing day. I can not thank them enough

I held My cocktail hour anda reception at the Other Barn. I have to say that the staff at omca is very attentive. Mrs. Susan and Mrs. Charlette made sure that My day went off smoothly. I had to make.some changes to My original plan to maintain my budget and they made it s very smooth transition. Mrs. Susan come ups with a way yo save me some money so that is always a Plus. I was a diy bride with a doc and I only wish I could have had more setup time before the event. We.could not get.in before 2 and the event started at 5. I Also wish the air conditioning was cooler because once the Party started it was a little warm. Overall I had a great time, the guests loved it, the decor was.amazing and they process the security depósito redunda really quickly. I had it back with on a week after the event

My husband and I had our ceremony and reception at The Other Barn on 1/7/17. We couldn't have asked for a better experience! The staff are courteous, responsive, and helpful, and the venue itself is very affordable. Without Susan's graciousness and proactiveness on setting up the floor plan with me, I would've been lost. I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a venue in the Columbia/Baltimore area!

The venue is beautiful! It was such a pleasure working with Susan. She was really attentive and guided us through the entire wedding process. I could not have asked for a better venue nor a better price! The flexibility was great and we were allowed to bring in our own caterer which is always a great plus!
I highly recommend this place!! It will NOT disappoint! :)
