The Howard County Conservancy is a countryside wedding venue located in Woodstock, Maryland, just 15 minutes from Columbia and Ellicott City. With multiple indoor and outdoor event spaces and 8 ceremony location options, this nature center is available to host a range of wedding celebrations. Facilities and Capacity
Nestled on 232 acres of private property, the Conservancy is embraced by abundant Maryland flora and fauna. Couples can exchange vows with trickling waters as their soundtrack or walk down the aisle beneath endless blue skies. Theresa’s Garden is a peaceful outdoor area, and for couples looking for a rustic feel, the exclusive Montjoy Barn is the perfect place to hold romantic ceremonies and capture beautiful wedding photographs. For celebrations held indoors, The Gudelsky Environmental Education Center can accommodate anywhere between 50 and 200 people, depending on the selected event layout. Featuring a number of eco-friendly structural elements, this building offers space flooded with natural light, a beautiful bamboo floor, and exposed wooden beams. Its largest 2,400-square-foot private function room can be organized in either theater-style seating or in a banquet configuration. Couples reserving The Gudelsky Center can also take advantage of a spacious covered terrace area, a balcony, a break room, and the John L. Clark Native Plant Garden. For wedding preparations, a private farmhouse dressing room provides a place tucked away from the excitement where couples can get ready for their big day.

Couples celebrating the beginning of the next chapter of their lives at the Howard County Conservancy are invited to arrange their own outside vendors. A number of event supplies are made available to couples as part of the contract price, including a 20-foot-tall screen, chairs, and round, rectangular, and cocktail tables.

Come and visit Howard County Conservancy during our first-ever Wedding and Special Event Rental Open House!
You'll be able to tour the venue, ask questions, and visit some of our preferred vendors. Caterers, photographers, coordinators, florists, and more will be onsite to help you envision your perfect day.
Rain or shine. Attendance is free, but registration is requested. Don’t miss this opportunity to meet many of the trusted vendors you will need in one place. Beautiful Wedding Ceremony & Reception Location! 1000/10 recommend!!
Kat (our Events and Marketing Manager) was so lovely and kind. She was super flexible when it came to scheduling meetings, and made sure that all our questions were answered in a timely fashion. During our tour of the property, she showed us a book with many wedding photos from the different seasons which I found so helpful, since it gave us useful ideas for our wedding day. Additionally, the Conservancy has a handout on their website with vendors that they have used for weddings, which we used for our big day! We had mission bbq cater our wedding and it was the best decision ever! Overall, everything about our experience with the Conservancy was amazing and it made our wedding day the best day of our lives!! Thank you again for helping us make our day possible!!

Lovely, peaceful venue
Ultimate modern nature setting AND it's DIY (in the best way!)!
The other thing we loved the most about this venue was the ultimate flexibility. We could bring in and use whatever vendors we wanted to: we were in no way limited to their list, which allowed us to work within OUR budget, create OUR menu, and use OUR drinks.
We had a whiskey and cigar bar, a coffee truck with donuts, and a champagne wall. We wouldn't have been able to do that at any other venue. This also being partially a Russian wedding, we wanted the ability to have wine and vodka on the table, so guests wouldn't have to gets up and go to the bar constantly to make toasts. The venue worked with us on this.
And we were able to hire Ranger the owl to make a special appearance at our cocktail hour! It made for some fun for our guests :)
Best venue, full of nature
I liked that there was an outdoor and indoor space the guests were able to go.
Grace was our point of contact for the venue, and from the start she was so nice, helpful and very responsive.
We love that it's also a place we can revisit and build future memories.
