I can’t recommend Ashling enough they are a dream to work with! The food was amazing all I heard throughout the night was how it was the best wedding food people have ever had. They are so organized and on top everything they really help guide you to your perfect vision. Danielle is not only amazing at her job but an amazing person she’s is very warm and friendly after meeting her I felt so much more at ease and suddenly everything wasn’t scary anymore! She also came up with so many wonderful ideas that I certainly would’ve never thought of. If you get the privilege to work with Danielle just know your day with be perfect and everything you dream of!!!!

We could not recommend Ashling Catering more highly, and especially Karla, who was truly one of the most important vendors we worked with throughout the entire wedding planning process.

Our wedding was a fairly complex one at a private residence outdoors under a sailcloth tent, with a lot of moving parts, custom details, and logistical challenges. We had never planned anything remotely like this before and honestly had no idea what we were getting ourselves into. From our very first conversation with Karla, though, we immediately felt like we were in good hands. Ashling was one of the vendors we booked the fastest because the service felt so personalized, flexible, and accommodating, which was exactly what we needed for the kind of wedding we were planning.

Throughout the process, my mom and I constantly said to each other that we genuinely did not know what we would have done without Karla. She went so far above and beyond for us. She knows exactly what she is doing, is incredibly professional, and guided us through every stage of the process with so much patience and confidence.

I truly cannot emphasize how many changes we made throughout planning — to our services, menu, design, and flow of the day. Karla and the Ashling team accommodated every change and request perfectly, never making us feel difficult, stressed, or overwhelmed.

What really stood out was how willing Karla and the team were to work with us on all of the very specific details that mattered to us. We wanted guests to walk into the tent and see a fully styled place setting with the charger, salad plate, and menu already in place. Ashling worked with us to create the look we wanted while still keeping everything sanitary by replacing the display plates with fresh plates before salad service.

They also accommodated adding wine-pour service, managed both a cocktail-hour bar and tent bar setup, and worked closely with us on our signature cocktail, including helping us figure out and provide the ingredients needed to execute it properly. There were so many little logistical details like this, and they helped us execute them all perfectly.

The wedding-day service itself was fabulous. The staff was professional, attentive, and everything ran exactly as it should. They even greeted guests arriving for cocktail hour at the front of the house with our signature drink, which was such a fun and polished way to welcome everyone and immediately set the tone for the evening.

Another one of the touches we appreciated most was how well they took care of my husband and I throughout the day. While we were busy taking photos and talking with guests, they made sure we each had one of our signature cocktails in hand, which was something we never would have thought to ask for. They also brought an appetizer plate directly to our seats so we could actually enjoy some of the cocktail-hour food as we were busy talking to guests for most of the cocktail hour.

The food was amazing and everything looked beautiful, but what meant the most to us was how much Karla helped tie together so many different pieces of the wedding. She was someone we could rely on throughout the entire process to help us think through logistics, solve problems, and make sure everything came together exactly the way we envisioned it.

For a private-residence wedding with a lot of moving parts and a very specific vision, I truly cannot imagine having worked with anyone better than Ashling, and Karla was an absolute standout.

We would recommend Ashling and Karla without hesitation to anyone planning a wedding, and especially to anyone taking on a more complex outdoor or private-estate event. We are so grateful we had them.

Ashling was so wonderful to work with! They knew our venue inside and out, specially curated a menu based on what we were looking for, and executed everything flawlessly. When we went for our tasting you could tell how passionate their chef is, and Karla made everything run like a breeze!! If you’re considering booking them, just do it.

Ashling catered our wedding - they were so wonderful! The food was delicious, and service excellent, and throughout planning and the evening they seemed so enthusiastic and committed to all of our guests having a great time.

We had such a great experience working with Ashling as our caterer. We worked with Karla who along the way was so prepared and organized, communicative, and had a handle on every little detail. We felt so confident after a delicious tasting at the restaurant which had us so excited for our wedding day menu, which Ashling was so flexible with in giving us so many fantastic options. When the day finally came, everything was perfect - from the set-up, to the food, and everything in-between. We heard from so many guests how much they enjoyed the food. We are very appreciate to Karla and the rest of the Ashling staff for helping make our wedding so wonderful.

I am so happy we went with Ashling for our wedding! We got so many compliments on not only the food, but the kindness of the staff at the wedding. Food was really important to us because we wanted it to represent our multi-cultural wedding. Ashling worked hard to incorporate foods from my husband’s culture. They independently did their own research about food from his country to help us put together a menu, and it was amazing!

Karla and her team were so patient through the entire process. They tried to accommodate every request, were responsive to every question and were adaptable to any changes.

If I did it all again, I would hire Ashling again and highly recommend all brides do the same!!

Karla and the team at Ashling are truly, I believe, the best catering team out there. They went so absolutely above and beyond for our wedding. The food was incredible, the bar service was great. We had so many guests come up and say how much they loved the catering.

But even beyond being the best at what they do, Karla and her team clearly care so much about making sure your day goes according to plan. We had a DJ completely no-show. This was in no way Karla's problem or her fault. But she jumped into action immediately, getting on the phone and calling people, finding a bluetooth speaker, basically being our day of coordinator.

I told people before the event the catering was the one thing I wasn't worried about. After speaking with the Ashling crew, I was absolutely confident that the venue could burn to the ground on our wedding day and they would find a way to make sure our guests were fed. And while our venue thankfully did not light on fire, I was so absolutely correct that they would immediately jump in for any crisis that happened.

Seriously, stop reading this review and give them a call. If you're lucky, they're available on your date. If they're not, maybe change your date?? Because you cannot find a better caterer, not just in the DMV, but anywhere in the country. We love Karla and the Ashling team!!!

Karla was an absolute joy to work with from day one. She immediately understood our vision and provided us with the perfect menu options right from the start...we only changed one item! When we requested a change to one of our appetizers choices, she was so quick to make it happen!
Her professionalism, responsiveness, and genuine care made the entire planning process stress free and enjoyable. Every message/email was met with a quick and friendly response, and a willingness to help in any way that she could. Working with her really allowed us to relax and know that everything was in the best hands on the catering side.

One of the most impressive parts of the day was how smoothly everything ran. Seeing Ashling work alongside our other vendors, felt like seeing a team that had done this together for years. The coordination was effortless, and the day could not have gone any better.

We are beyond grateful to Ashling for being such a big part of the best day of our lives.

We're so glad we went with Ashling for our wedding! They were absolutely lovely to work with, very communicative and clear, and always willing to answer a question over email. They were especially helpful with the specialty drinks we wanted, helping us figure out the best way to go about it (we wanted specialty drinks that could be mocktails and cocktails), how to organize it, what materials we needed, etc. They removed a lot of confusion from the whole equation!

They were also very flexible with the food itself, and were focused on making sure we were happy with every element of the food throughout the evening. Any change we wanted to make at the tasting was met with an easy, "of course!"

Additionally, I had a cookie table at my wedding that my aunt put together, and Ashling was so helpful in figuring out the logistics and helping to refill the cookies throughout the evening.

I definitely recommend Ashling!

It is worth noting, before getting into the meat of the review, that the food was terrific. Everything came out just right, Ashling worked with us through multiple changes and back and forths, and we couldn't have been happier with the dinner service!
What really stood above and beyond, though, was the little stuff. Anything we threw at our contact and day-of coordinator, Karla, was handled with care and grace. She deserves a special shoutout, because she was such a huge help to the entire process. Couldn't have asked for a better caterer!
