The Notary Hotel, Autograph Collection is a hotel wedding venue located in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. It began as the City Hall Annex in 1926, and has since been renovated to feature new, modern accommodations. This historic venue is the ideal location for a variety of events, and has a strong, attentive event team that will give you the most amazing and stress-free experience possible.

Facilities and Capacity
The Notary Hotel, Autograph Collection is a venue of style and elegance, ideal for wedding ceremonies, receptions, rehearsal dinners, and many other special occasions. Recent renovations and excellent interior design provide the venue with stunning bronze and marble accents, lending a great classic yet contemporary setting for your event. There are two spacious 3,000-square-foot ballroom spaces, with the ability to accommodate up to 200 guests. No matter your vision, this gorgeous historic, yet modern venue could be the perfect space for you to celebrate.

Beyond our wildest expectations!

2020 has been a really tough year. Easily the biggest highlight for us was our wedding which just preceded the onset of the COVID pandemic. And we will be eternally thankful to the Notary Hotel for providing an amazing environment for our welcome lunch and most importantly, our ceremony! The lunch was really terrific—Julia, Angela and the whole team walked through everything with us and Chef did a phenomenal job accommodating both our vegetarian and non-vegetarian guests with a delicious spread including a lot of local Philadelphia treats. The ceremony was seamless—the Notary team did a fantastic job interfacing with our event coordinator and vendors so we didn’t need to worry about a thing except walking down the aisle! Our guests were thrilled to stay in a beautiful, historic and newly renovated hotel—it just made things so easy for us.

Thank you so much for everything and we’d highly recommend the Notary to any couples (or anyone else!) looking for an event venue.

Gorgeous City Wedding

My Husband and I were so happy that we chose The Notary Hotel as our Venue for our Wedding Day!! Not only was the building and surrounding areas so great for pictures but our out of town guests loved all the close attractions that they were able to visit!! Working with Angie Schembs -Smith was such a pleasure! She was incredibly sweet, super responsive and made sure we had everything that we needed to make our day the best day ever! We also have to add that Nicole Trotter who originally showed us the Hotel was wonderful as well!! She made us feel so at home that we immediately knew this was the place for our wedding day!! Thank you so much again Angie and Nicole!! Our day was perfect!! :)

Fantastic Wedding!

My husband and I were married here in May 2019, shortly before the property was rebranded as The Notary Hotel. Our wedding day was absolutely perfect. My husband and I are both from Philly, but we currently live in California. It was really important for us to have a "Philly wedding." The location and decor of this hotel couldn't be beat. Angela and Nicole were such a pleasure to work with and our big day went off without a hitch. Also, it was so practical hosting our ceremony, reception, and hotel room block in one venue. We're Bonvoy Gold members and the service we received was everything we've come to expect from Marriott. The food was delicious and our suite was amazing.

At first we were a little disappointed to have our ceremony and reception in the same ballroom with a gap between the two, due to construction taking place in the hotel at the time, but Angela worked hard to make up for it in other ways and we were so grateful. At the end of the day, our wedding was spectacular and our guests had a great time.

If you're having your wedding here, or any Marriott property, I advise you to get one of the Bonvoy credit cards and use it for all of your payments to the hotel. The points you'll earn will go along way to covering your honeymoon nights.

Great staff to work an event with.

It is always a pleasure to work with the staff at the Courtyard. Steve and Company and the Courtyard were selected to work with David Tutera on the My Fair Wedding television program. The night was a blast and went off without a glitch. This was mainly due to the professionals at the Marriott. The management staff always have every person performing at his or her best, the hotel is immaculate and the location is perfect Always a pleasure!!!

Our band performed a wedding at The Courtyard by Marriott Philadelphia Downtown in October, 2010. I must say that this is a wonderful venue with extremely helpful and great staff to work with.
