The McGarity House is a historic and elegant wedding venue located in Temple, Georgia. This turn-of-the-century Southern home, grounds and barn pavilion offers the perfect setting for a rustic and country wedding celebration. Whether your wedding will be vintage-themed, elegant, classic or shabby chic, you'll fall in love with the many gorgeous and charming event spaces of The McGarity House, including a traditional Southern mansion, large wrap-around porch, spacious ballroom and barn, and open fields accented by apple and pecan trees.
Facilities and Capacity
The McGarity House offers indoor and outdoor event spaces to accommodate intimate wedding celebrations of up to 150 wedding guests. Outdoor ceremonies can be held on the lawn with a beautiful backdrop of apple trees. Indoor ceremonies and receptions can be held in the McGarity House with its ballroom and unique staircase or the new and elegantly appointed rustic barn event space with barn wood and a chandelier. The mansion’s romantic wrap-around porch offers the perfect space for cocktail hours or as an escape to relax and enjoy wooded views. Additional tables can be set up on the lawn behind the barn to accommodate more wedding guests.

The McGarity House offers venue rental for weddings and other social events. Venue rental includes use of the entire property. This venue offers an all-inclusive package to accommodate all of your event needs and deliver a stress-free wedding experience. Couples can also hire licensed outside caterers of their choice. Beautiful venue! Barn and ballroom available in case of rain! Not many venues offer that. We did the package, so most vendors were included. The vendors not included, we got them from the recommendation list the venue provided. Because of this, all vendors knew each other and have worked countless weddings together. This helped everything be stress free and easy to do! Melita is wonderful at coordinating! I didn’t have any issues before, during, or after the wedding at all! Picking this venue made everything else just fall into place. Thank you for the perfect day!

Our wedding felt like a dream and I am so glad we chose The McGarity House! Melita is kind, efficient, easy to work with, great communicator, and extremely helpful. She answered every question I had and responded quickly to emails. She provided the most beautiful decor and made sure our day was a breeze. I couldn’t be more pleased and I’m so grateful we had our wedding here! Such a beautiful place that captured so many beautiful memories!

Everything I imagined
Having our wedding at the McGarity House was an unforgettable experience. Melita was so kind and helpful throughout the entire experience. She always listened to my ideas and did what ever she could to help us have the day we envisioned. She promptly answered questions and shared in our excitement as our day was approaching. To me, the bride, the day went flawlessly all thanks to the Melita and vendors, staff, and the family who owns and operates the McGarity house. The day of was directed seamlessly and everyone knew where to go, what to do, and was timely. The organization helped tremendously.
We went with the vendor package and it was the best decision we could make. The house was stunning, the food was delicious, and the flowers were beautiful.
I could not recommend the McGarity House enough and know that a big part of our day being so special was because we had our wedding there.

The absolute best
I cant say enough great things about The McGarity House. The perfect local, the perfect mixture of classy/chic/country/rustic. The beautiful barn and timeless Plantation house were absolutely exactly what we wanted for our wedding day. The venue is all-inclusive which was another must-have. Melita, the property manager and wedding planner is what sold us. The best of the best, she rocked it from day one. We hit it off immediately - she listened to every need/want/request and went above and beyond. Not to mention, her vendors are FREAKING AWESOME. The food was out of this world and the flowers were unforgettable. I would recommend this venue to any upcoming bride. Please at least see it and meet with Melita - she will blow you away!

Exceeded expections in value service and detail making it a memorable event
We got the wedding package that included use of both the beautiful farmhouse and the barn and Melita handled everything to the last detail making it a stress free experience for both the Bride and the Mother of the Bride. The vendors she uses GW Catering and A Perfect Wedding Floral Design did an excellent job. I would highly recommend this venue to brides looking for a memorable wedding and reception that exceeded our expectations in value and service and detail.

LOVE this Venue!
The McGarity House wasn't our first pick for a venue, but as soon as we walked up to the property, we knew it was where we would get married. The entire property is beautiful, and there are so many possibilities for couples visions. You can get married outside on the green grass under the apple trees, inside the covered barn, or inside the ballroom. Melita is the wedding coordinator and she is AMAZING. So flexible, very informative, and willing to do anything for you as a bride. We love this venue!

The best wedding venue in the world
Where do I start?
The McGarity House is perfect in every way!
We looked at many venues that were expensive and did not offer as much as the McGarity House. The moment we stepped on the property, we fell in love. It has everything we were looking for: a 100+ year old plantation house, an elegant barn, a spacious ballroom, bride’s suite, groom’s suite, the sweetest apple orchard ever, beautiful trees with a chandler and couch underneath them, an adorable swing in the woods. The grounds are maintained impeccably with flowers and bushes around the buildings. It’s an absolute dream! The property is stunning and looks amazing in photos, but the best part is the owner and wedding coordinator, Melita Pritchard! She is the sweetest, most laid back, and calm person you have ever met! And trust me, you need her for your wedding day!!!! She went above and beyond! She helped decorate, her family took care of collecting gifts and cards, parking, set up, and clean up! She made sure everything ran smoothly and all the guests were happy! She made sure my husband and I had everything we wanted! I truly can’t thank her enough! The McGarity House and Melita will make your wedding day the most special and magical day of your life!!!! ❤️

Beautiful and Perfect Wedding
The McGarity House was the perfect place to get married! I decided to go with the all inclusive package, so it made planning effortless and allowed me to enjoy the process. Melita is amazing and is there to answer any questions and guide you through the whole thing; she made sure everything ran smoothly the day of the wedding. It was Amazing!
As the mother of the bride, I have to say the venue was amazing! They closely worked with us from the very beginning until the end to ensure our special day was nothing but spectacular. I could do not be more pleased. It was absolutely beautiful.

What can we say about The McGarity House? Melita and her staff are outstanding. The house is gorgeous with eclectic pieces throughout the house that make you feel as though you've stepped back in time. The grounds and orchards are absolutely gorgeous! The new ballroom gives plenty of room for guests to eat, dance & have fun. With the new ballroom and the wrap around porch, The McGarity House holds more guests than most venues in Metro Atlanta. If you like it, book them! They book up quickly! We are pleased to work with Melita and the crew!
