The Lemont Block

Facilities and Capacity

Initially built in the latter half of the 1800s, The Lemont Block stood empty for some time, with the upper floors of the building, including a grand hall on the second floor, shuttered since the 1980s. It had not been transformed and revitalized into the premier event space it is today. With touches from the past, this venue perfectly combines old-world charm with contemporary amentieies. Since the top-to-bottom restoration, couples can enjoy this intimate, luxurious, and soulful event space for all their event needs. Able to host everything from the rehearsal dinner to the reception, this indoor venue can host up to 299 people.

History

Originally built in 1870, the four-story building was constructed by the Knights of Pythias, an order established during the Civil War. According to the Pejepscot Historical Society, this venue served as the location for many compelling speeches and events in the 19th and early 20th centuries, with the likes of Frederick Douglass and Neville Chamberlain.
