History

The Ivey’s Hotel is located one block away from the original intersection of two Native American trading paths, known as Trade and Tyron. Renowned American architect William H. Peeps originally designed the stunning building at the turn of the 20th century as the home of J.B. Ivey and Company Department Store. After an extensive multi-million dollar renovation project blending the original building’s features with new and luxurious additions, The Ivey was reopened to the public as one of Charlotte’s most historic luxury hotels.
