The Inn on Peaks Island is nestled on the stunning Casco Bay, just a 15-minute boat ride from downtown Portland. This location is ideal for anyone dreaming of a tranquil getaway for their ceremony and reception, and can host events ranging from 50 to 200 guests. Couples that spend their wedding weekend here will have access to both indoor and outdoor event spaces, which sport a seaside elegance in their aesthetic. One of their more intimate ceremony locations is a romantic gazebo, settled on the spacious lawn area. A paved walkway acts as a designated aisle, leading to the altar, while lush greenery and gardens surround the happy couple and their seated guests. Guests can gather along the inn’s covered porch or indoor lounge for their cocktail hour, before moving to the spacious restaurant for their reception. An event tent is also available for newlyweds and their loved ones to dine and dance under the stars. Visitors are just a short walk from the shore and can have photo sessions or gentle strolls with crashing waves as natural background music. You and your loved ones will have seven cottage-style suites to choose from, featuring Jacuzzi tubs, cozy sitting areas, and plenty of natural light.

The event team will work with you throughout your planning process, to help you make your nuptial dream into a reality. They will handle the setup and cleanup of your venue space, while you spend time with your loved ones. Decor items are available, including aisle markers, lighting, and tabletop items, to complete a newlywed’s elegant design. Servers and bartenders will be present on the big day, to make sure each guest is cared for throughout the evening. The restaurant’s culinary team offers various delicious creations, adding a contemporary touch to classic New England dishes. Their hors d’oeuvres range from hearty lollipop lamb chops to prosciutto-wrapped scallops. Couples have a variety of dishes to choose from, and the staff can accommodate buffet or plated, . They will happily customize your menu, from your rehearsal dinner to your dessert table, to feature the flavors and ingredients you prefer.

The BEST Venue - All Around!
We'll start with Jayson, the venue coordinator. All the advice you read in wedding articles or see on Tik Tok and Instagram about a venue coordinator only looking out for their space and their team completely goes out the window when you work with Jayson. He is there for you from start to finish, offering to help out and do things leading up to and on the day that most in his position won't do. He was the most helpful and available basically the entire year from signing our contract until our wedding day. But most importantly, he's kind and sincere and understanding and a joy to work with.
Next up - the space. Before wedding season 2023, all new floors were installed throughout the venue that are beautiful and brighten up the space, and a gorgeous new tent with crystal chandeliers was installed too. The vibe of the space is "coastal modern", which can perfectly be dressed up or down depending on whether you're going for casual new england or an elegant affair. We saw the space for the first time on a FaceTime with Jayson and loved it virtually - seeing it in person was a real 'wow' moment.
Location is conveniently right off the ferry so no worries about guests getting lost or complaining of their feet hurting from a long walk to get there.
Lastly, the food was delicious. We had very picky friends tell us it was the best shrimp cocktail they've had in a long time, which says a lot! The presentation of the raw bar in a boat was so cute. We had no idea that's how it would come out and it definitely impressed our guests. If you're having a wedding in Maine you have to plus up on the lobster! You won't go wrong with the mini lobster rolls (really good size for a mini) and the filet & lobster meal. It's obviously the priciest option, and we were a little worried on quality because of the mass production aspect for an event, but it was very good and worth the extra spend.
You really cannot go wrong with choosing The Inn on Peaks Island. It's a gem of a find that we are so, so happy is part of our story now forever!

The Inn on Peaks Island is one of our absolute favorite venues to work at. It's always such an experience! Our couples and their guests get to take the ferry over from Portland and the ride over is always filled with fun anticipation. Every room at the Inn is a dream to photograph in with large windows overlooking the bay and the lawn and tent are perfect spaces for a wedding. A quick walk across the street is the beach perfect for sunset portraits while the couples guests enjoy the sunset views from the deck of the Inn.
The Inn on Peaks Island is one of the most popular venues for brides who contact me. Not only is the location beautiful with all of its waterfront property, but the grounds and the structures are incredible also. It's always easy to find lots of wonderful photo locations here, and I've never encountered a bride who was anything less than completely impressed at how the venue served their wedding hopes and dreams.
